Great lesson, Ivan. Back to the funk roots. As you mentioned transposing (dropping the key), I must recommend the Digitech Drop pedal. It's so practical to be able to drop steps/tuning with just a button and without losing string tension. Cheers!

Thanks for watching, Thiago! The the drop pedal is great when playing stuff with a lot of open strings or if you don’t want to switch between two basses with different tunings

@@IvanBassist I guess I'll start with the walking bass line, Sir Ivan, because each technique must be learned before practicing, or join a band, especially being a songwriter. That way it will improve my playing technique. Practice is the key. 😊👍

Hi Ivan, I need BASS TONE TUESDAY too hahah. So, could you make a video about string height? in relation to the pickups and also the neck. I have difficulty with some techniques like tapping, I am thinking of lowering them a bit.

Hey Ivan, do you usually play through those monitors when you're there or you got a speaker as well? I was thinking about it as a solution for home, so that I could leave my cab in the studio and just bring the head (I got a pf-20: the DI works when no speaker is connected). How do they sound with the bass? Do you feel that some frequencies are missing?

Hey Paolo! I split my playing time between my cab and those monitors depending on which time of the day i’m playing. The monitors definitely put out enough bass to practice and they don’t make my room rumble as much as my amp, which helps when I don’t want to disturb my neighbors 😄

Either regular d’addario rounds or the Ernie Ball Flatwound Cobalt Slinky. I don’t remember, but you can see in the video that I have foam under the bridge for the extra thump

Nice break down so its understandable but as a beginner i still stuggle if you don't give out notes when you transpose.
