I see the 620 as a car you would keep in a garage and only take it out a few times a year and only run it on a track. The 160 is the car you take out to the country lanes every single weekend, give it a good thrashing, then pull in to a pub and have a steak pie dinner.

I love James May, he's my favorite, and I kinda hate Clarkson because he's a bully. However, on this point, Clarkson is right. It's too much power if it will kill you. The 160 is enough car for you. It's enough car for Clarkson, because YOU ARE NOT THE STIG. The 620 is for the very few people out there that can drive it, and survive it.

You remember the Koenigsegg that was so powerful the Stig crashed it? Yeah, Koenigsegg fixed it, because of Top Gear. That's what makes it a Test Track. They also do challenges, tell jokes, and pull wacky stunts there, but a lot of these comments come from guys that think they're The Stig. We all know what The Stig has to say about that.

Spot on, I track my MX5 and at the end of the day people still say every time that it looks like a fun bit of kit. I don't care if my times are slower than the bloke in his GT3 that can't drive it on the limit because it's so risky I have a lot of fun. Half of which comes from using the power properly because the wrong gear at a turn can ruin your entire lap, there is no excess power to try to make the time up.

DoctorVince Nah, he has built in stereo Lidar detectors you can just sort of see them spin really fast inside the "helmet" visor.

This is a brilliant Behind the Scenes clip. I love seeing the Top Gear Presenters or Producers talking about something that will be later on in the show. Now I am looking forward to Top Gear Series 21 Episode 5.

Stig lapping the Caterham in the wet brings back the Vietnam flashbacks of that one Trial in Forza Horizon 4... Caterhams only, no modifications allowed. Even with an optimized tune you HAD to have raction control on or the car would just spin for days

I see the 80hp caterham as very similar to the Morgan 3Wheeler - Your often at the limit even at normal road speeds. Wonder why anyone havn't mentioned that.

Yes, and the best thing about that if your like me you earn a living from your driving licence is you can have just as much fun if not more from one off the littler ones and not lose your licence. If you had the quick one you would never be able to use it properly on the road so its only a track day car. And you have to admit, the Morgan three wheelers have a interesting look about them.

I love James May . Dry as hell . Hilarious . And presents the " Everyman " point of view . Thr sensible " Horses for Courses " viewpoint . Although they take the piss out of him , he CAN Drive very well indeed . But that was never his " Role " . He was the Boffin .

To perfectly understand what james is saying, play a game and try driving a very fast super car on public roads, then try a sports car like a miata, then youll understand what he means, yes supercars are fast and everything, but on a road and on a daily basis, you cant really enjoy all of it

Schumacher was the STIG only Once , when they tested the FXX, because no one else was allowed to drive it-So he HAD to be the STIG for THAT episode. The usual stig is a British F3 Guy with some ex F1 drivers filling in when they get something really hot.

Im sure they have a go-to person as the Stig. But part of the reason they keep it a secret is so manufactures can use their own drivers. Say Ferrari has their new F-XX, they can have their own driver run a lap. This makes manufactures feel more at ease knowing they are responsible for their 2 million dollar car.

The 160 is more like a GT86: simple, light and not a lot of power makes it a very good learning car. If James can drift it, anyone can. Same with the GT86.

Either buy a windscreen from the lesser Caterhams or put on a full face helmet. James is an avid motorcyclist and shouldn't really be adverse to wearing one in a car. I do however agree with him on the 160. That looks like fun!!
