Just because someone is not here with us physically, I honestly believe they live on through our love. It is the ONLY thing we can take with us when we leave here and connect again. Jamie keep painting what you see. Tell all those haters to stfu you're busy painting what you love. Thought is powerful. Our loved ones are around by a single thought. That thought is not w our minds but with our souls and that feeling is LOVE.❤ and as always. -keep on rockin' w your bad as self!!

“Take time with a wounded hand 'Cause it likes to heal.” if this lyric doesn’t speak volumes to people who grew up with this music, nothing will.

I met Scott backstage in Las Vegas during STP purple tour, he signed my purple album cover. I have never forgotten.

My dad passed away also 2013 but it still feels like few years ago, to live is to die, everything else in between is depression, and I've listened Scott's velvet era and his other accomplishments too

Scott was an amazing singer and artist with a troubled life. I still listen to STP and Velvet Revolver songs because I grew up listening to STP as a kid, and my depression playlist includes many of his songs and honestly songs from other musicians who wrote about depression in their songs and eventually took their own lives. These songs remind me I'm not alone in my feelings of wishing to be gone. I am homeless and I live with several others who have drug issues and it is a fight with them to get them to stop, to get them into treatment and clean enough to try and turn things around. The hardest part is convincing them that X people are not their friends (usually people who sell or want the person to buy them drugs usually meth in this area). I do believe Scott is as deserving of recognition as any other musician who took their own lives no matter how he died. Sadly too many only see the bad, no matter how much good he or his music brought to others he isn't remembered for that or his mental health battles he's remembered as someone who was a drug addict. Which is a shame because he did have a mostly private life away from the studios and stages and too many just don't care enough about those private battles. Once upon a time I wanted to be more like him than I wanted to be myself. Call it a sort of hero worship if you want but I was just a kid then too and at that age you look up to people and want to be more like them. I still have almost every STP song memorized and used to be able to sing them perfectly, not so much now due to some issues (mostly being a heavy smoker).

Scott is a legend and a true talent who had demons and internal struggles like us all. How he passed away never mattered to me personally. We will never have a voice and presence like him and he will always hold a chamber in the hearts of those who loved his music.

Scott was the best out of all of 'em. Light years ahead of Cornell, Cobain, Layne etc.

I read your book "fall to pieces", it was really great. My favorite story was the one about Scott & Dave Navarro; where scott wrote the lyric "the problem with you & I" ...but never finished it, but pretty much summed it up right then & there!

that was Mary Forberg's book, Scott's ex that he had children with. This is Jamie who he married after and was still until he passed.

I wonder how much/can the drugs contribute to the mental illness he had? Amazing talent, missed.

Scott should not be honored nor does he deserve any accolades at all. He wrote about and romanticized a completely self-absorbed drug addicted rockstar life style and was a horrible example to his fans. Likewise, his lyrics were also completely self-absorbed and often incoherent. He whined and complained, then complained some more and he did that in between feeling sorry for himself and then writing about it as if the fans also should feel sorry him. That literally became the substance of nearly all his lyrics. But don't take my word for it, just read them. "Left my meds on the sink today, my mind will be racing by lunchtime." What?! He actually had to hire a professional writer for the final album because he couldn't think of anything else to write about except drugs, and how miserable he was. and you can look that up to. A loser to his absolute core (no pun intended).

who is more of a loser? ...someone admired by millions or a coward behind the keyboard writing some lame essay?
@philipb7960
@philipb7960 26 дней назад
Jim Jones could also be said to be admired, and likewise had a large following. Coincidentally he also was a drug addicted loser, who convinced his disciples to commit mass suicide. And as far as being a coward because I posted an opinion using a keyboard, well that is how you interact with something called the Internet. You use a keyboard.
