Janja Garnbret and Jain Kim climbing styles compared in IFSC Climbing World Cup Inzain 2019 and IFSC Climbing World Cup Xiamen 2019.Music: Macifif - HopeMoon - Honest Man - Instrumental Version
" If I could climb like anyone, it would be Jain Kim " Fully agreed with that quote. While the raw power & dynamism of someone like Garnbret stands out more, the cool, calmed, composed climbing of Kim makes it feel like it's a quiet walk in a park. I can see strength beneath that ease, too.
Jain calmly clipping the rope with 4 seconds to go was some Hollywood James Bond stuff where the protagonist diffuses the time bomb with 4 seconds to go. hahahaah Ice cool!!!
@@geraldleuven169 I'd watch females climbers over male ones any day of the week. The ladies (as an average, of course) climb _much_ more beautifully. Less power, more technique.
@@-h151-7 coming back here after a year, i still can't manage to watch Janja garnbret because my eyes are locked on Kim Jain. Some of her Videos I watched more than five times and still they make me get hypnotized by admiration. Its her Gracefullness. There is great climbers who are strong, flexible, determined, precise, Insane, carefree, or whatever. But Gracefull? Come on! Thats outlandish. To me she is a real Icon . Not just in climbing. I guess she is my Favoriten athlete over all. #Fanboy
@@buntbar2438 I can tell, since there must be more behind your admiration for her than her skill. since there were instances here when Janja finessed the obstacles better.
Kim Jain is the best 8 Minute lead female climber in the world, such graceful and Elegant movement, with phenomenal power to weight ratio. She is now adjusted to the 6 min climbing competitions. Good video
the blaat-blaat so-called"music" is the monster. The two climbers both artists. In fact you can see at least one move where Jain, 8 years older and more experienced, had to muscle up, where Janja finessed.
Thank you for putting together this comparison video. It beautifully shows so many side-by-side nuances about pace, stance, momentum and clipping that we can all study to improve our own climbing! Two truly amazing and inspiring teachers.
Janja is the greatest woman sports climber of all time because currently she's completely crushing the competition, but I want to climb like Jain! I love Jain's perfect technique and grace!
Janja considers time not her friend, as the longer youre up there the more fatigue, Jain considers time her friend and she takes the extra 2.5 minutes.
I feel like Kim climbing style is timeless, her technique will always be there to help her to top a route. Janja's style is perfect for the new dynamic routes, but who knows what style will be next... Anyway I love to see them both:)
Janja achieved 150 more points than Jain in 2019...... she beat her every year in the past few years and one of the most dominant female climbers. She achieved much more than Jain at a much younger age in a more competitive environment. Jain is beautiful to watch but from a competitive perspective, Janja is a stronger athlete. I'm not sure how you have analysed Jain's technique will always help her top route when Janja has top more routes with her faster and more dynamic style of climbing.
@@NickLiang I feel you didn't understand my comment. Of course janja is the strongest athlete, she just won everything! I'm saying that Kim technique is timeless, she looks more like an outdoor climber. Janja's technique is perfect for nowadays dynamic comps. Hope I've explained better myself!
@@Jc-xp8xp you've watched 2 routes specifically where Kim managed and Janja didn't, in an event where Kim Won... But, Janja won against Kim in quite a few other events, so...
@@NickLiangJanja style won't last as she gets older and loses her youth, flexibility and dynamic strength. Kim style will serve her well into her later years
Most climbers: The longer I'm on the wall, the more tired I get Jain: The longer on the wall, the more time I have to rest I have no doubt if time was not a factor in lead competitions, Jain would top out every route
Both amazingly strong women. Full of control for Jain Kim and Janja always amazes me with her signature flicking of the leg to balance the force and power generated by a dynamic move. At that last move, for Jain Kim to strong grip and hold that body position, she's really really strong. ❤❤❤❤
@La Sportiva I have the same La Sportiva Solution shoes as Jain Kim shown at @7:25 and since my feet are narrow like her's I have to tighten the lace up so much so that the Velcro strap is only attached by 1/4th of the contact area. Like her shoes it sticks out the side and is a concern for me if it gets caught and undone while climbing. Also the stitching has come undone on one pair. Question, could you make a pair of La Sportiva Solution shoes with a shorter strap for people like me with skinny feet?
Не разбираюсь в скалолазание, но у кореянки очень красивая мускулатура и карабкается она так, что глаз оторвать не возможно. За артистизм я бы ей поставил высший бал)
No words for Janja's climbing. There was never born human with skils like that. Not saying others are bad or anything, but this is beyond normal. She has clean head all solutions prepared for anything
@@hsdonn664 janja is definitely the best Female world cup climber ever just because jain deadpoint/statics every move doesn't mean it's always the most efficient looks pretty but that's it
Would be awesome as for me there is no climber who inspires me more than Kim Ja-in and thats coming from a bloke, but with the combined thing in the olympics I gotta say it suits Janja alot more, especially to be able to getting a good speed finish compared to the other boulder/lead specialists
Both of them are amazing. Janja bouldering skills are the best in the world, and jain kim continues to climb even after giving birth. and she's not even 5 feet tall.
@@bigblob1623 or rather, just a bias, which is understandable, everyone has their favourite whatever the reason, even if the favourite isn't THE best, but one of the best... certainly there's plenty of people who would call Janjas climbing artful and above the rest.
@@regreyes3877 Looks like Janja had back-clipped. If you are back clipped, there's a chance of unclipping if you fall on that draw. However, since this is an extended draw, this might not be a concern.
I mean disagree with that sentiment in terms of onsighting only sure but ondra outside climbs quite fast / powerfully similarly to janja so i don't see it holding her back
I'm sorry but there was no other way to sync their movements, Janja's style is too fast. I tried my best to speed-up/cut the less important parts, but I understand that it may bother anyone. Anyway, thank you for your feedback :)
@@ClimbingTV Most of the time I prefer when you pause one climber until the other catches up, but I could see how speeding up makes a lot of sense when the difference is this big ... thanks (-8
