Thank you for a fascinating and in-depth look at your approach to sewing. Today is the first day I've ever viewed your channel and I subscribed immediately because, as a professional and an avid sewist, I appreciated the very thorough way you explained your pattern selection as well as what you learned from mistakes you've made in fabrication. What sewist can't relate to that?! Well done! I hope to learn more from your sewing journey. Keep up the good work. I look forward to you sharing more about the London sewing scene - makes, fabrics, style trends, and what's hot/what's not and why.

I am new to your channel and I am so glad to be here. I love your approach and the designers that you feature seem to have a style more aligned with my own. Your very thoughtful reviews are helpful to both the potential maker and the designer. I’ve watched your pattern reviews of Nordic designers as well as of the fabric sellers that you buy from. Thank you for taking the time to share.

You totally can do it! They are time consuming, but not as challenging as you'd think in terms of technique.

I have just started watching your channel and am really enjoying it! I have also loved a project I was knitting and then a friend makes a comment on what it reminds them of and ruins my thoughts on the project. Sometimes I get over it but usually I stop making it😂

I love how informative this is! A raglan sleeve with a square neckline is probably exactly what my puny shoulders need to not fly off (plus the right weight fabric). And dang those jeans are SO GOOD 🎉

Ok, you made me laugh more than a few times so you get the like. I clicked on the video because I thought I recognized the green fabric from Joann and I’m trying to make something for my Mother’s birthday and looking for suggestions. I like the hacks you made to the pattern, well done. As you went along, I was picking up the little tips and details you were providing. That earned you the subscribe about the time you asked for it. Nice first video and keep up the solid content. 👍🏽

Would highly recommend the Dawn jeans for a foray into non-stretch! I've seen a few others make them in low stretch denim (like 1% elastane) as well :)

Loving the videos so far! Would love to see what patterns you would recommend for Printed Flannel. Fabric selection is limited in my city to Joann’s and the vast majority of cute prints are in flannel or stiff quilting cotton.
@StephSewn
@StephSewn 9 месяцев назад
Definitely know what that's like! With flannel, I always like shackets and pajama sets. However, I also have had some really comfy shirt dresses in flannel! Doesn't work well if they are very stiff flannels, but if there is a bit of drape, a plaid flannel shirt dress in winter with a curved hem can be really cute (in my humble opinion).

Just about to start a pair of bootcut jeans and am looking forward to the challenge. I was given a Vogue Calvin Klein 1980s slim cut high waisted jean pattern last year and am on my second mockup getting the fit right as my current bootcut jeans are woefully saggy and really need to be retired! Very interesting pattern construction on that top - i really like a square neckline so will have a look.
