While assimilation is in Vic2 it is very difficult to force assimilation on cores of other countries, or even conquer the world. It is not as flexible as EU4 for example. Another Vic2 RU-vidr whose name I've forgotten is doing a world conquest right now and the game/world is barely functioning, I doubt that holding things together to the extent that you can carry out assimilation is possible, though I may be wrong.

@@RyRy2057 one year later, but you lose military pops which isn't that good, you also lose the cores and they're states (not colonies, so you can build industry), so it becomes weaker

Paradox game mods just be like that. Historical accuracy mods are unbalanced as all Hell. Balancing mods are overly complicated or make the game a chore. Silly mods are way too easy to have any replay value. Most modders just implement stuff on a whim without thinking twice about it (especially when it comes to directly importing features from other mods).

@@AnglosArentHuman Yup, it massively bugs me as an amateur game developer/designer to see all these mods and even Paradox itself completely throw out any concept of game design, Paradox more so gamifies everything and cares very little for considering any simulation or depth while their modders pretty much entirely wreck all the good design that was left and either tank the performance for superficial changes (like Meiou and Taxes in EU4) or they further simplify everything and strip the last semblance of any depth. I keep considering starting up my own mod to address some of my issues in one of the games but I despise the "Paradox language" and really despise how goddamn retarded the developers at PDS are, and looking into it the systems behind PDS games aren't actually that powerful. Also I feel like Paradox really doesn't try to evolve the medium enough anymore. So the result has been me considering doing my own attempt, haven't exactly gotten that far with it though. But I'm trying, even considering a system where there are no tiles, its interesting how much can be disassociated with gamified systems like that if you merely make the attempt.
