Hi everyone! I hope you enjoy this ridiculously long video tour of Don Quijote. What kinds of items would you buy? Have you been to a Don Quijote before? Any other types of stores you'd like me to tour inside of? Let me know in the comments here! Thanks for watching, please stay safe and healthy, and Happy Thanksgiving!
I visited the one in Akihabara when I visited Tokyo back in February. Bought mostly cookies and other snacks. What blew my mind , even as an anime fan was how many snacks they had with anime tie-ins.
@@majutsushisliceoflife Nice! I'll have to film some video at the one in Akihabara and the biggest one in Shibuya. Tokyo definitely as all the cooler flavors and themed stuff, plus soooo many souvenir items. Thanks for watching!
I don’t know if anybody has ever really said this to you before, but thank you for letting us live vicariously through you. ESPECIALLY during covid. thanks for being so detailed and good humored. you are absolutely appreciated!
Thank you, Lane. Your kind words mean a lot to me. I hope you've been enjoying the live stream videos and the store tour videos. I know many are in lockdown or can't travel right now, so I hope that my videos can help people in some way. See ya in the next one!
It's an amazing store to get lost in. This one isn't even that big. There are some really big ones in Tokyo that have even more stuff! Thanks for watching. ^^
OMG hahaha yesssss That has happened to me too. It's easy to lose track of time. It's like going into a casino with no windows or clocks! Thanks for watching and commenting! Daiso tour video coming this week!
This is one of my favorite shops to go to when in Japan. Since I can't be there, this was a great video to watch. Thanks for taking time go through the store!
It's so nice to see your videos again, it's like feeling at home. I remember that when you were doing live videos from Korea, I would get up at dawn, in the summer there is an 8h difference and in the winter 9h between Korea and Portugal and I assume it is the same in Japan, to try to interact with you and , there was a day when i did it ... i looked like a kid when suddenly you answered my message. Keep up the good work.
hahaha Yeah, thanks for all the support and what not. Japan and Korea are in the same time zone, so yeah, 8-hour difference in summer, 9-hour difference in winter (for daylight savings). Thanks for watching and commenting! Please stay safe. ^^
I don't think Donki sells fake name brand goods because of Japan's strict counterfeit laws. I think the name brand stuff is discounted, like outlet malls.
Thank you for the great walking video of DQ! I usually make an effort to visit one near my family's house in Kyoto. You're definitelly right that you can get lost wandering around the store and I usually end up buying one thing lol. Since it's a bit difficult to get enough protein from meals in Japan (without being too expensive) I usually got to DQ to buy a small bag of protein powder. Last time I visited Japan during the winter, DQ had a big selection of holiday decorations which was nice. One of my favorite things I saw in the video is the Green Tea socks and also the shoes. For some reason I always enjoy looking at the shoes section in Japan (mostly in department stores in the countryside such as Izumiya and Al Plaza) -Danny
Oh, that's a good idea. I didn't think about the protein thing. I'll have to go back and take a look at their prices. Japan has a ton of shoe stores. I sometimes browse the more high-end ones and imagine what it would be like to be able to afford $450 shoes. hahahaha Thanks for watching, Danny. And it was nice to see you in today's stream from central Tokyo! Happy Thanksgiving!
@@CoryMay81 Yep! The livestream was great. Thank you for your hard work and a happy thanksgiving to you. I saw your thanksgiving KFC meal and it looked tasty!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I'll have a Daiso tour video uploaded in the near future. There's one near my house that I go to sometimes. Stay tuned! Thanks!
This was one of the best videos I have watched about Shopping in Japan. Taking the time to show the aisles and the end caps were great. I hope you don't mind me making a suggestion but could you please not spin around so much and not turn so fast. I was making me dizzy. But other than that it was excellent video. Thank you so much for uploading.
Thanks, Lisa! I appreciate the lovely comment. Yeah, that was my major worry, the turning was too fast. It was my first time filming with the camera at my chest, so that's the reason why. I prefer handheld, but I couldn't do it in this situation. Thanks for the feedback
I sat through this in one go! Go me! :D But really nice and interesting to see all different things in one store. A true warehouse. And thanks for not showing us the V's, T's and P's :D
Wow, congrats! I know some people don't like the super long videos. It is super overwhelming, though, huh? And don't worry, I wouldn't risk getting my channel banned by showing that stuff. hehehe Thanks for watching!
Y daughter would never leave this place. Especially if they have Danganronpa or My Hero Academia products. I'd need at least a million dollars 😂 she'd love Japan
My shopping list in Japan: ------------------------------------------ Kimono kitchenware Japan graphics T-shirt Freeze magnet Key ring small models( showpieces ) of castles pens/pencils, notebooks, pencil box, school bag kids toys Casio watch ladies dress, like sweater, sleeping gown etc umbrella some electronic gadgets wall calendar coffee mugs ----------------------- They all need to be strictly "Made in Japan"; Do you think I can get all of them at DON KI ?
I know this is 2yrs old but in the video you mention the clothing like Adidas and other brands in store. They are all authentic brands inside Din Quijote.
I wonder if it's better for steadier footage to just hold the action camera instead of mounting it to my body. It seems like too much movement whenever I turn left or right. At least with handheld, I can steady it when I turn so people don't get sick watching the video. lol
I like poop!-----2/25/21 Thanks for the video. I like Japanese culture and toys and weird things you have in the video.Someday I would like to go 2 Japan.
Hi, the only thing is that you didn't show all of the prices and the goods for sale detailled. It's so interresting. - Next time better. - Othervise it was a nice video. - thank you so much.
Yeah, sorry I couldn't show every price and detail for every product. The store was VERY BIG so it's not ideal to spend hours filming showing all of those details. But I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment! Cheers!
hahaha Yeah, it's hard because I am male and don't know what to say about some of the stuff for girls. It's a challenge for me in some of my other store tour videos, such as showing cosmetics and stuff. I have no idea what some of that stuff is called or which one is cool or not. But thanks for the feedback. I will try to focus a bit more on the kawaii stuff, even if I don't know what it is.
Yessss... luckily I don't have to wear ties or suits for anything at all, but if I ever had to, I'd pick up a few of the DBZ ties for sure. Thanks for watching!
For Germany I would say, this is a mix of IKEA, Nanu-Nana and Butlers... and those shops which sell things from closure and stuff from the last season. (Rudis Resterampe)
Very interesting! I hope I can see what a Nanu-Nana and Butlers is like. IKEA is everywhere, so I don't really need to see an IKEA in Europe. hehehe Although maybe saying I've been to the 1st flagship store in Sweden would be a cool bucket list item to cross off my list. hehe
Oh nice! There's a really tiny 3 Coins near my house. And 2 decently sized Daiso. But this Donki in Kashiwa is the closest one to my house. Thanks for watching the video!
hahaha Nice idea! I'm actually working on getting that merch ready for the channel. It's gonna take a little bit to get the design the way I want it. I'll share a poll to see what people think when I have some stuff to share. Thanks for watching the tour video!
Oh wow, I just did a Google image search for that and it reminds me of the outlet shopping at Guro in Seoul. Almost the same kind of escalator with curved atrium balcony ledges inside. Thanks for watching man! I hope you and the family and doing well! ^^
Your videos are amazing! Unlike most RU-vidrs who just go into to places and only show items quickly, you take the time to go around talk about stuff even if it takes hours to do so. (Also you completely skipped the adult section🤣) After seeing this Don Quijote video, I would never want to leave! I am obsessed with stores like this. So much to see and buy, It's like heaven. Maybe one day I'll be able to make it to Japan to see it in person! Thanks for the video!😊
hahahaha Yeah, I skipped it on purpose because I can't show the stuff inside on RU-vid without it being flagged or reported for sexual content. I appreciate your kind words! I noticed no one really does these long-form tour videos in stores, so I'm glad I can provide that type of content for you and others who miss shopping and exploring during the pandemic. Thanks for watching!
I love videos like this. Since I don’t travel much I enjoy seeing how others live. You know what I would love to see? If you could go to either fast food restaurants or convenience stores and see what they sell. Anyway, thank you so for the very enjoyable video!!! Can’t wait for more!!
Thank you for watching and commenting! If you haven't subscribed yet, please do so to know when I upload my next store tour videos. ^^ New one is coming soon! Probably tonight.
Those aren’t those kind of vibrators, lol.. those are for neck massage and for muscle aches. My husband bought one in the health and wellness section at Walgreens… but hey, to each their own! Lol 😉 btw, that looks like a fun store, it’s overwhelming but I would be there just looking around, go for the souvenir stuff and try Japanese snacks. 😁
Thanks for the tour at Don Quijote, Cory. I've been in one and could spend hours and hours browsing though it but would never buy anything because the prices are quite expensive. Then I'd go to the nearest Daiso where I actually buy stuff from. By the way, I finally watched Kimetsu no Yaiba anime...per your recommendation. I was rewatching One Punch Man seasons 1-2, and I thought might as well check out what the hype is about. While I love the characters and some animations were really gorgeous, the pacing and story felt a little flat for me, especially the ending. I was hoping for a big boss battle, as you do, but I thought the last 3 episodes were filler episodes. I felt like instead of sticking to the landing, the creators were interested in establishing sequels (and the movie). What a massive cliffhanger. That's just me though. Maybe I didn't get it or maybe the anime didn't just work for me. Anyway, here's a video idea for you. I'd love to see the leaves changing color near your area. I guess it's about that time there. We just missed the autumn season when we visited Japan, but there were early signs when we left. That said, see you on your next video. Take care, Cory!
hahaha Daiso is always a life saver. Can't beat the prices there! Yeah, I can see your POV on Demon Slayer. I think there's supposed to be more animated later, but it was delayed because of the pandemic, plus the focus went into the newly released movie as well. You know, I'm dying to capture some of the leaves changing here but the timing is all off. For example, when the weather was nice and I had some extra time, the leaves were like... 3 or 4 days away from being at peak color change. But then when those days came, there were massive wind gusts, some rain, and I also had weird working hours so I couldn't go out to film. I'm afraid that when the rain stops and I go out to film, all the leaves will have fallen. Many have already. I've only gathered maybe a few minutes worth of footage so far, and that's it. It's really disappointing! 2020 has been really bad for me with weather literally ruining some key filming opportunities. Grrrrrrr.... so annoying! Tomorrow is supposed to be partly sunny and no rain, so I'm going to go out in hope of finding a few trees that still have their wonderful colors. But my hopes aren't that high at this point. T_T
@@CoryMay81 Oh no! There, there! You'll find the perfect day to film one day. We-that is, I-are very patient. LOL! I completely agree. The year 2020 has been a hot mess inside of a dumpster fire, inside of a train wreck! But I have a feeling things will turn up by December or January 2021. I mean, I hope so. Otherwise, humanity is doomed! Cheer up, Cory!
I get awkward talking about it because I don't know enough information to sound like I'm smart, so I just babble. hehehe Thanks for watching and commenting!
These videos are damn good. I really prefer longer vids, they’re much more immersive and informative. I’d love to see inside convenience stores. Thank you so so much.
Thanks for watching! Filming in a convenience store is much more difficult for me. The small store size has 2 to 4 employees working, and they're watching to see who's in the store. It'd be very easy for them to notice I'm wearing a camera and in the store for a long time looking at every item. hehehe I've tried before and had a staff person try to call the cops on me once during a live stream. I think it's still possible, but much more risky. Thanks for watching and check out the other videos in the Japanese Store Tour playlist! ^^
Also i know thus was posted two years ago. But is there ANY way you could do an in depth tour of a liquor store and the "hard soda" options. Im super curious!
Greetings from Illinois, USA! Your videos are the best, hands down, at showing items, prices, etc. It's interesting to compare prices there vs. here in the U.S., not to mention what's popular/trendy there vs here. I always get excited over the anime stuff, hoping to catch a glimpse of my favorite one. Thank you for taking the time to do these and giving us a peek into everyday life in Japan! I hope you and your's have a wonderful and healthy Holiday Season!
Oh nice! Sorry the footage is all shakey and the movement is very fast, though. I'm going to film another store tour video today, actually, since it's my day off. What is your favorite anime? I can tell you if they have products based off of it in regular stores or not. Thanks again for watching, stay safe and healthy!
@@CoryMay81 Thank you for your response! I don't get motion sickness with your videos, so that's always a huge thumbs up! My favorite may be a bit more obscure, it's Yu Yu Hakusho. Keep up the excellent videos; you've got a new subscriber from me!
Thank you for taking the time to walk slowly and showing each product, it’s nice to know the prices ; so that when I come to Tokyo in Aug , I will have a better idea of what brands to buy. 😊
You're welcome! I know I don't show every product and don't talk about everything in a lot of detail, but I try to give people a good idea of what things are or what to expect to see in my tour videos. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I can't wait to get to a Don Ki. I'll probably end up at the one in Osaka with the Ferris wheel. I also need to visit Daiso, although we have those here in California, too, but they're tiny compared to the Japanese stores. I'm giving myself a 50 yen limit each in Daiso and Don Ki. Gonna need a bigger suitcase... P.S. Is this store considered a Mega Don Ki? They seemed to have everything and the prices were pretty good...
hahaha Good luck finding anything for ¥50 yen. Minimum is ¥100 plus 10% sales tax. hehehe But yeah, you can always buy a bigger suitcase from Donki! They have a huge selection and good prices. Uhmmm... I guess it could be considered Mega, even though it doesn't say Mega on the sign. The Mega ones in Tokyo are much crazier than this one!
When I went to Donki in Tokyo it felt so overwhelming everytime. There's so much stuff all the way from the floor to the ceiling. Thank you for the video, it was a nice remiscement of the controlled chaos that is Donki!
OMG!! Those men's underwear. 🤣and I think those look like massagers for her neck at the 22:05 mark. The place is huge, with so many different things, I could spend all day there. Happy Thanksgiving Cory.
