Anybody asking about whats on the scallop I’m a scallop fishermen from Nova Scotia Canada. The yellow/white surrounding the meat is called “Frill” the green/blackish bag is the “Liver” and the roe sits along side the meat and is usually red or orange for female & white for male. When he washes the scallop itself and peals a brown piece off that’s called membrane. Japanese scallop shells look a lot nicer then ours!
It's already 2am here in Switzerland, but this was a very bad idea to watch this Video. All of this looks so freaky amazing! Especially the last one... I can cry! I sit here and eat instand Noodles... :'-(
There's a place here in the Philippines, Isla Gigantes, you can have all the scallops you want. Problem is when you stay at one of the resorts there, breakast-lunch-dinner all throughout the duration of your stay. Scallops, scallops, scallops, by the 2nd day, you'd wish there was something else.
I loved Okinawa. Such a great place to live for a few years. I really enjoyed going off the beaten path. Going where most foreigners would not go. I found some of the best local foods that way. One day I found a zoo and a nice eatery with the best local fare. I would love to go back and stay for a while.
When I was a starving college student, I had a sushi chef prepare fresh scallop sashimi. I was shocked. It was like candy from the sea. It was the only time I ever had anything so fresh and sweet. Till this day I have yet to find it again.
I worked on a scallop fishing boat years ago. There is a simple way to cut a scallop and leave the meat in the center of shell without any guts attached. It takes only 3 moves with a curved scallop knife.
I wouldn't eat the green part (stomach), those are normally considered as waste and are usually thrown away in most western restaurants and Chinese restaurants. Here they too know it can not be eaten raw so they boil it first before severing with other sashimi parts, anyway interesting to watch
I realize a lot of people only eat the center muscle. But Asians actually preserve the fringes and make a seafood jerky out of it, called scallop strips. Eating some right now. It's great. Also in Hawaii, we often eat the other parts raw, the coral, the fringes, on sushi or as an appetizer. So purists won't agree but the whole scallop (cleaned, yeah I don't eat the digestive sack) is pretty darned tasty.
hot glu I think price would be different depends on the vendor and where buy it.. the price can be higher too in the future.. so, I think it's not necessary to put price
@@aghniafauziah9195 we don't care how much it will cost in the future. we just want to know how much it costs during the time he/she ate it. SO IT IS NECESSARY! ^_^
devi kiran the video title tells u it's raw why even say it u dont like raw food you clicked on a raw scallop video sushi, sashimi are raw 99 percent of the time
I wonder if those chefs from Hell's Kitchen are able to prepare scallops like these. They always said they have passion for food, but rarely shown to know how to processed it from scratch....
If you come to Hyderabad, India, I can guide you to show some of the best eateries locally. Savour best biryani, haleem, Irani Chai with osmania biscuits, spicy favored chats, & many more. It's a 3 day food tour along with interesting places to see
Is the green thing the liver or stomach or something? The yellow stuff is “guts” too right? I have cracked and eaten whole Maryland blue crabs, and the yellow stuff inside them was locally called “the mustard” and people enjoyed eating it. Just curious as to what everything inside clams is lol
I live in Baltimore and what people call mustard and think is fat is actually the crab's hepatopancreas, which I guess is a combination of liver and pancreas cells. It is a bit to strong for me to eat outright, but love picking my own crab meat and keep it in and mix it with the other meats of the crap as I feel it adds depth. The green is the digestive gland which is sort of an all in one, but thinking the orange-ish/yellowish is actually the roe and reproductive gland.
That was an INCREDIBLY rude thing to say as it is quite obvious you can eat it. I love sushi and sashimi so i would be willing to try it at least once. I have just simply always had them cooked.
Yes, because people would pay, repeatedly, to continuously get sick. That is some flawed logic there. Not to mention, the monger/restaurant would not continue to operate if people were getting sick. So, yes, it is obvious you can eat them raw as evident in this video. Just because most don't and are used to them being cooked doesn't mean you can't eat them raw, just means most are not used to eating them that way.
It would be nice if some sort of discription were included to tell us what's what. That looked like country gravy with onions but it certainly couldn't have been that, could it?
I just hope that you didn't mistook that béchamel (with onions) for cheese, cause i'd be outraged! There is only cheese as topping, it seems the title is kind of a lie for a french like me.
I want to ask at where exactly is this place located in Japan? Cuz` I`m visiting there soon, so I kinda want to know where do you always go to have sashimi.
ya somos 4 jaja y con mi hermana 5 (ella me dijo, ve estos videos jeje te vana gustar y te va a dejar con hambre y si los ves de noche te haran dormir muy tranquilo)
What is that green stuff? Sorry but I would not eat that but that's just me. I like the little Bay Scallops versus the real big ones. They taste a whole lot sweeter for sure.
