@@malxadolasanadam eventually, use tool pack mod and make 1 state annex all of Africa (instead of doing tag, tdebug and annex 1 by one) then change the police division (or all those countries will revolt and pop back as countries) Same for South america(or all except Brazil and Mexico)
Garbage mod that always crashes, pretty bad. I spent 6 years developing China and when I got to the fun part it now always crashes around the same date even if I load autosaves from 1~2 weeks ago they instantly crash too...Thanks for wasting my time MD!
@@PuellaMagiHomuraAkemi yes, that what every world changing mod does😭 too many countries, most useless, having too much navy and aircraft and division while they barely have any war! Only slowing the game and destroying the save after a crash
If it is easier to use than cold war mod, I'm fine with it! (plus like cold war, having the choice of ballistic missiles is cool as every country target a specific country, not every country targets every country on earth- like irbm&slbm for Pakistan vs India, India vs China, Iran vs Israel, irbm&icbm&slbm+nuclear bomb /cruise missile for China vs USA, etc) Seems better than just 'research nuclear energy' and you just got nukes after building 1 nuclear power plant.
@@Arkantos117 Thats not really the issue, its not that bad when you watch a little tutorial (10~20 minutes) but my issue is that the game crashes and when it does, it also corrupts your quicksaves...I lost HOURS of progress... On top of that it seems that too few countries really do war, though you can disable the alliances maybe I should do that and use chaos AI if it works with this
@@PuellaMagiHomuraAkemi I'm not saying it has too many features for me to learn it just has too many features to run well. Also half the features are just not fun for me, needless busywork.
Better to focus on the generic stuff first since those apply to all nations. Spending that same amount of time on a focus tree only makes one country more interesting to play
I got pissed when I spent way too long as China planning out a multipronged invasion of ASEAN with using Vietnamese refusal to subjugate as my causus belli, but the focus ended up just puppeting them instead.
11:30 the way the Afghanistan War of 2001 now works in MD is by Western powers sending volunteer units (renamed to "intervention force" here) to the Northern Alliance
I'll say the thing I always say when you play this mod: Hoi is never going to accurately simulate modern politics, economics etc. You need to add so many systems the game chugs with. This mod will essentially be obsolete when Vic3 gets a modern day mod
The only issue with Vic3 getting a modern day mod is that Vic3 has no good way to simulate nuclear politics, so it has to have taken place in an alternative universe where nuclear weapons were never invented, but things went the exact same way anyway. Not that I really mind that, honestly.
@@kabobawsome I think air combat may be worse, like air combat doesnt seem to fit into this front system to me (though I may be mistaken). For nuclear weapon you could just make some decision with chance roll maybe, while air combat needs to be computed all the time
The Second Congo War (which by the way was the only conflict in the Congo throughout the video, in case you were wondering) is an actual historical war that lasted from 1998 to 2003 *officially*. Unfortunately, fighting has continued since then despite the technical end of the war and it has resulted in the deaths of more than 5 million people. This makes it the deadliest world conflict since the end of the 2nd world war.
I love the idea of millennium dawn but everytime I touch it I’m like “ man I do not have the time for this “ and usually just go play a smaller mod or the vanilla game
"I think I will recognize Taliban" Oh boy iSorrow, prepare to have a visit from the police and I should prepare for one as well considering what I've just written down on a public platform
@Denam That they are the sole power in Afghanistan that controls & administer it and that any Aid or Diplomacy or any kind of business that is involved with Afghanistan means that any country needs to go through them?
@Denam If a government being really nice to its people and other countries all the time is the only thing that it takes to be recognised by the International Community then why does the PRC, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and various other countries are recognised?
This mod has always "needed alot of time in the oven" but never gets anywhere. Everyone wants this to be a amazing mod but it never is, at this point I just don't think you can emulate the modern world with a ww2 simulator. Yet somehow you can emulate the cold war with a Victorian simulator.
Victoria had spheres, pops and stuff like that, which kinda fit for the cold war. Meanwhile hoi4 is a game about not only warfare, but one big war, its not about indepth diplomacy or trade deals, its about microing divisions, picking the right things to research and produce, etc. The goals are just completely different. The fact that it runs like shit also has something to do with it.
Because the victorian era was more about technological advancement and economics, and without as much warfare, as well as spanning more then 10 years like hoi4. Out of all the paradox games, victoria is the best to turn into a cold war game.
I’m really enjoying the new Millenium Dawn, but I still think it suffers from the same issue as before of having 10 billion different kinds of equipment. It makes supplying / training troops in almost any minor nation very difficult since you only have maybe a handful of factories yet need a dozen kinds of equipment at the very least. Makes each game as a minor a rush to strip your divisions down as much as possible. Still overall a very good mod
IIRC The old meta used to be strip your division is down to base infantry with artillery support like it’s World War II and then wait for the enemy to get ground down because they can never re-supply all the equipment they burn through
That is intended. Millennium Dawn is intended to be a lot more asymmetric than vanilla where you literally take two focuses and research 1939 guns and you're just as good as any other country
Irl minors don't really produce their own guns, most of their equipment is bought from overseas. Hoi4 and MD doesn't really have a decent market system iirc. There's a money system but you can't buy equipment through trade

4:40 yeah now I understand why Italian and Japanese always kinda stay well together and respect eachother: our aging societies really have much in common 😢
Millenium Dawn is a pretty good mod, I also played as Japan and went from 2000 to 2019. It may take a long time to do stuff, if you cause any tension you can say goodbye to trade with most countries and autosaves are a bit buggy sometimes (game tries to save and it just crashes instead).
For some reason, MD is my favorite mod because it feels more of a challenge. Sure, it’s a little too in depth when it comes to units, but that’s fun. Having high corruption is fun. For some reason I love playing a country with high corruption and a shit economy, but then building that nation up to a great power. I also love to think about the people in the country I’m playing, and imagining what my changes are doing to their lives.
Thank you for the laughter during this time of catastrophic tooth pain from an antibiotic resistant nerve rotting jaw infection. *BOWS DEEPLY* (PLEASE do continue making the MDawn ones)
yes , I also remember when japan recognized the taliban government and the american president was Al Gore in the year 2000 , truly a historical game jokes aside i laughed throughout the whole video , great job ! love your content
*Sir David Attenborough voice* “And here you can see the Japanese peacefully igniting a civil war in South East Asia, as well as taking a peaceful stroll through Vietnam. There definitely isn’t anything suspicious going on here.”
Hey ISP while it's still March Modness I wanted you to try out the Failed Revolution mod for HoI4 in which the American Revolution goes south and they never break off.
