I lived in Japan for a year and this video brought me great memories. I never had the opportunity to visit these stores in Tokyo. Keep it up!

An entire shelf full of yellowed Sufami consoles in Surugaya Specialty... That fits well with what I've seen. There are so many Super Famicoms in Japan!

Your videos are so good. Thank you! One of my dreams is to visit Japan before I die. I’m really impressed with how cheap working/good condition stuff sells for there!

Second-hand stuffs in Japan are of extremely high quality. I think it has something to do with their culture that they believe every craftsmanship is the process of injecting life into objects. So they treat man-made objects (clothes, knifes, electronics and etc.) like living creatures. Instead of throwing them away, they always like to find a new owner for their stuffs. Because of this, the second-hand market/business in Japan is thriving. You can find second-hand book stores and electronic shops everywhere in Tokyo and those books and laptops all look brand new. Online auction for used stuffs is also thriving in Japan too, especially Yahoo Auction. It is interesting that while Yahoo is fading away around the world, it is still thriving in Japan. You should definitely visit Japan (especially Tokyo if you are into electronics), it is a very nice country! Among all the Asian countries that I have been to, I would rate Japan number one. The only down side is travelling cost is not cheap at all.

I wonder, is there any Japanese stores, that sells, Atari, The Odyssey, games from the 1970s through early '80s?
@hardwarerepair200
@hardwarerepair200 Год назад
@@pierrelewis6819 Thanks for watching! Atari might be a bit difficult to find in Japan since it is from the US. I haven't seen any Atari consoles/games so far in Japan yet.

You are right! I kind of ran out of time that day when filming (shops closed at 8pm in Akihabara). I am planing to make a second video for other shops that I missed out in this video! I actually have a Google map for shop locations appeared in this video. goo.gl/maps/qEPhgvMufnk2V1n3A I hope you could come to Japan and shop for retro consoles soon!

Have you though about selling retro stuff like these online (worldwide)?
@hardwarerepair200
@hardwarerepair200 10 месяцев назад
Yes, but the main problem is shipping. The shipping fee from JP to US for a PS3 is 250USD. So far I haven't seen anyone who's willing to pay this amount of shipping fee yet.
@sonyx5332
@sonyx5332 10 месяцев назад
@@hardwarerepair200 WOW!, and that's just for shipping alone! I didn't think it the prices went that high. During the beginning of 2020 I bought two used and boxed PS3 in good condition (Made in Japan CECHA00 & CECHB00), around $100 each and the shipping was less than $200 for shipping both together.

Can u order from that place with the ps3
@hardwarerepair200
@hardwarerepair200 Год назад
Yes you can. But the liquidity of that store is so high that they tend to only put expensive items online. I once saw a nice and cheap console in one afternoon, went for lunch and came back, the console was already gone. .
