I'm living in a sharehouse in Tokyo right now and it's so tiny. In this video I'll show you what a share house looks like and how much the furniture cost.
I'm paying 71,000 yen per month for the rent and this includes everything (water, electricity, gas, internet, etc.) so I don't have to pay anything esle. I paid around 30,000 yen to move in here.
Please check out my other videos about accomodation in Japan to know the difference between normal apartment and share house :)
Here are the furniture list (Anything not mentioned in this list whether doesn't belong to me or I bought it a long time ago so I have no idea how much it was anymore haha)
1. Clothes hanger rack 3695 yen

2. Small container 648 yen

@@vincentharris8552 people who use the dishes have to wash them and put them back. When it's full, someone will take it out eventually haha. I take it out sometimes too but it's not decided and not compulsory. The manager comes once a week to clean anyway

Your room maybe small but also really clean and tidy, and your little friends around the bed are really cute. One thing I can assure you, the fire extinguisher is in working order, it has to be by law, and to keep you all safe. Always enjoy your videos, and your lovely voice, and would never judge your room or anything, who you are is all!! You are a lovely person, and a great human being, made me smile, again, bye bye :) Oh our rubbish bin is one week green bin for recycle, and the next week is black for rubbish, some every other week.

Have you considered one of those elevated beds that have space for a desk beneath it? Or one of those lower ones that at least have some drawers for clothes? Although that space is so small, I kinda would like to live somewhere like that. Looks cozy and would force me to be creative.

Normally if you are living with someone it is a partner, family, or room mates who are your friends that you have already known. Your folding table is amazing. Hopefully you are able to get rid of the stuff you dont want or need and can utilize your bedroom space more efficiently. Im sure the longer you are there, the more it will come together. I really like the idea of the extendable washing line! Years ago I lived in a shared house in Nottingham, England. I was working at the hospital there and decided to live in a shared house so I wasn't alone in a city I didn't know. It was a strange experience. There were 5 of us in the house. Luckily I got on really well with the other girl who was living there. The only issue I encountered was that one of my housemates was Spanish and therefore used to living in a much hotter climate than England - he even found our summertime too cold for him so he used to turn on the central heating in mid-summer!! That was just awful because it made the house way too hot. We did not have anywhere to hang our washing to dry, it would have been good if the house owner had provided facilities for that. But hey it was a life experience and all part of being independent!
@ChillWithLinh
@ChillWithLinh 5 лет назад
haha it sounds like an interesting experience for you and now you have a story to tell people about! Living with people can be hard because you have to compromise a lot right haha :) I like how most houses in Japan provide facilities for hanging or drying clothes!

That fordable table is so cool! I’ll probably order one, so I can work from my bed more comfortably. 🤓👌✨ Speaking of comfort: I’d get claustrophobic in that share house. 😱 Everything is too small and I’d definitely need my own bathroom in the long run. 🙈 But I admire the Japanese ability to adjust to such a small space. How long do you plan to stay there? Btw, I just found your channel by accident and after watching just one video I already subscribed. Awesome informative content and I think you have a unique style. 😀👍

I love the intercom! I wish I ha something like that here :) and is not just an asian thing to save grocery bags. The Hispanic community does it too ^_^ you should definitely do some reviews about soup/ramen! I'm tired of Maruchan :/ also we do have those rollers and is very common in Texas. Lint rollers is what theyre called. I love your videos Lihn and appreciate your effort and detail! Keep them coming :p

I saw it for the first time in Canada haha Thanks for sharing so many information with me!!

That's a good apartment if it's in the middle of Tokyo. Cities can be really expensive. My uncle is quite lucky as he got his house in a city like that back in the days when it was viable (PS he is very very very rich so it would not be a problem for him even today) he said he had offers around 12-15million$ but he just likes that he and his brother can stay together and is not planning to sell it anytime soon. Also you get all the bills included too so not much of a problem. Also I just got myself another smart tv for second floor just for movies and games. I totally understand the need of a big TV. I thought of getting a cheaper version and put something like an apple tv or some android set top box but it would look too bad so I ended up with a smart tv.

It was under my previous company’s contract so I had to move. Also my new company is far away from there. And my previous place was spacious but was like out of no where and very inconvenient. I studied it in university. We had Japanese language class and it's like any other classes so I took all of the Japanese classes. After that, I just studied through actually using it and through my work. I think after I took until intermediate I could understand what topic people are talking about, but not the details. I understand more after I start working. But like I understand more if it's a topic I'm familiar with. Even now if it's a topic I'm not familiar with, I don't understand everything.

Thank you! Can anyone help me with this?

I'm not Japanese so yea... I learnt English since elementary school and I have been using it continuosly since university. I started learning Japanese in university and now I'm using it daily at work so it gets better too. English is definitely easier for me. Japanese is a very hard language. The characters are really tricky. Just try learning Japanese online! Search on google I'm sure there are a lot of free courses :)

Hahaha wow I admire you for living for 7 months in such a small space... It must have been so hard 😂 i feel like social residence are normally bigger than share house so maybe you can consider that in the future? Living in Tokyo is soooo expensive 😂

@@ChillWithLinh Yeah I thought about that but like every social residence with vacancy rooms I've found is so far away from Omotesando (where my future workplace is located) that it isn't worth it. I think it's a pretty reasonable price, I'm in Australia atm and I pay in a share house with max 4 people and a lot of space about 60.000 Yen a month and my friends, who are living in a share house with max 12 people are paying 40.000 yen. And it's on the country side, 1,5 hrs from Melbourne city centre.

@@ChillWithLinh yeah, therefore I get 2.000-3.000 Yen an hour at work, so that evens it out. At least 38 hrs a week. Right now I'm on overtime, so I get 3.000 yen an hour. I think in Japan you get alot less.
