Japanese Trying Dutch Food & Snacks 

As a Dutchy, it always makes me happy watching non-dutch people enjoy our foods & drinks.

I like to watch videos about foreigners tasting Dutch snacks/food, but you guys are the champions. Love the way you analyse, and enjoy (almost) everything

Being Dutch this is the first one ever that I actually sat through with a smile, I found it well-researched and that made your experience of the products so much more satisfying for both you and us as viewers. And even a bit refreshing, I now have a newfound respect for Appelstroop lol. Also, most of my friends would never guess the tastes in that Grolsch the way your tastebuds picked up on it. So thank you for taking your time and energy!

Winterbok is brewed with honey, cinnamon and clove! You are completely correct. Herfstbok has more blueberry and cinnamon. Lentebok has citrusnotes. Zomerbok has clove and fruit flavours. Have you ever tried mead? A honeybeer,

Interesting fact is that Grolsch Brewery is owned by Asahi Group Holdings, one of the largest beer brewers in Japan.

The applestroop is not a jam, it's thinkend applejuice indeed more like molasses. If you have a dutch cheese like gouda, you could put the stroop on a slice of bread and put a slice of cheese on top of that. I like that very much as a breakfast food.

We are really glad you like these treats. The winter bok beer indeed has hints of clove, ginger and cinnamon. It is also the strongest of the four seasonal beers with 7,5% alcohol (the autumn one is 6,5%). Of these two the autumn one is my favourite. They go great with snacks but also with winter dishes like stew. Nissin really is the best ramen and yakisoba maker in the Netherlands, other makers have indeed a very bland taste so I always buy nissin. Nissin here also has yakisoba style classic (sauce flavour), chili, teriyaki and sukiyaki beef and some instant ramen flavours (chicken garlic, Tokyo shoyu, spicy beef). So sweet you still have the "flowers" Saya picked for you. Saya sends you a kiss :) We are looking forward to part two. Hopefully you'll like the treats in that part as well :)

I actually live in the village where that apple spread is being made, you can smell the sweetness from the factory miles away.

The "Applestroop' combines great with aged (Dutch) cheese. The contrast of the salty cheese and the sweet flavours of the syrup are a unexpected, but amazing combination!

The Dutch are often criticized for their bland taste in foods- but we are really good at beers and sweets! The Dutch are just very particular with their tastes. We love our winter spices too

Hello my Brothers. Thank you so much for taste testing the great looking Dutch food and thank you Tamara, Esther and Saya for sending them. I tell ya they all looked delish even the beer. If I HAD to choose I think I would choose one sweet and one savory because I really love, love, love the savory foods (Diabetic). I googled stroop and it means syrup so the apple stroop would be my sweet. Noodles are my weakness so the Yakitori Chicken Soba would seal the deal on the savory. Thanks for sharing these with us. Ya look like ya enjoyed them all.

If you're ever in The Netherlands, you should definitely visit City Brewery "De Koperen Kat" (the copper cat) located in the city Delft. They have the best beer in my opinion, especially their specials!

i really love those nissin soba noodles, either in cup or packet version, cause they are dry noodles instead of soup and they taste delicious, yakitori chicken(blue) and teriyaki(green) are my favourite

When I still ate meat, the bacon tuc flavour was truly out of the world! There was even a thin slice of meat in the biscuit!

I live in Germany and I have relatives living close to the netherlands. Now I wish to go there, just to buy dutch food! Oh, and If you guys ever have the chance to visit the netherlands, you should definately try out some "Vla": It's a dutch kind of pudding, that is extremely creamy and comes in many different flavors. It's simply amazing.

Here are the ingredients: Water, BARLEY MALT, sugars, honey (1.5%), natural aroma of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom, vanilla, citrus and other natural flavors and hops. Overhere those are winter spices. Loved this movie! Greetings from the Netherlands.

Personally I've always found Dutch food in general, and drink too, rather too sweet for my palate, but of course that makes it very pleasant (if requiring self-discipline) to consume ;)

Oh, a Dutch food haul! I'm glad you like our beer btw! We're very proud of our beer! The noodles were quite luxurious for Dutch instant noodles. Most of them are REALLY basic. I expected Dutch instant noodles to be nothing like what they'd be like in Japan, seems I was at least half right... There's a lot of traditional Dutch food that won't keep long enough to send you, but perhaps one day you'll be here to try them too!

TUC has always been one of my favourites..so simple yet so delicious. The paprika TUC especially has a place in my heart as my grandaunt always had some for me and my brother when we visited.

Ah big fan of the Nissin Sobas, in germany we have Classic Yakisoba (tastes very similar to Nissin UFO Yakisoba imo), Chili (this one I don't like), Yakitori, Teriyaki, Sukiyaki, Thai (meh) and Curry. Glad to finally see you trying one of them, I was hoping that this will happen someday.

Yummy...the bread and apple spread looked delicious! I have tried authentic stroopwaffels before...they are great with hot tea, especially the cinnamon caramel! Great video Shinichi and Satoshi! Btw, the chocolate with yuzu and nori seemed weird to me as well! 😁

Winterbok is a copper-colored bokbier with a soft sweet spicy taste of honey and speculaas. Specially brewed for the cold winter months. Taste the full taste with notes of honey, cinnamon, ginger and clove.

Calling Appelstroop a melasse's is very good discription actually, instead of (sugar)cane boilings leftovers, it is applejuice boiling leftovers(with added suger after that, like jam)

Yakitori is the green one. They also have Sukiyaki but I haven't tried that one yet. at 2 euro pp they are a bit expensive imo.

I actually always cut slices of cheese into smaller slices and put them on the Tuc crackers, but I have no idea if it's a thing more people do, I just grew up with this combo.

Rich Autumn buck is a traditional, undergassing brewed seasonal beer with a pleasant, soft sweet taste. During the tasting, all the attention goes to the aroma of caramel and the subtle notes of cinnamon, raisins and blueberries. Ruby red in color with a mocha colored foam head.

The schuimblokken (foamblocks) are one of my favourite candy used to eat those way to much when i was a kid.

I think I had the same experiance with the chocolate once. I tried chocolate with nacho... Very strange, but it was actualy quite tasty..

While the noodles are available in Dutch supermarkets they are actually produced in Germany under license from a Japanese company.

it is melasses aka syrop aka stroop(wafels) gained from apples,pears etc. in the case of the stroop from stroopwafels then it is from sugarbeets

Furikaki chex mix is sweet, salty, and savory snack using seaweed.

We use those foam blocks to get the children going. Just feed them a few and the sugar will keep them hyper energised for minutes!

I'm so surprised about the soba. We have that brand in the UK and I love it for lunches but I thought it was a Japanese flavour so to hear you don't have it surprised me but I'm glad you approve of it as I like them.
