Jarkko Ahola - Walking In The Air (REACTION!) 

Jarkko, Metal God, Ahola truly is one of - if not the most talented singer out there. Some pros say his voice is closest to operatic tenor, which may be why his legendary metal screams are so divine.

Sistah - Jarkko has so far released seven beautiful original albums - Teräsbetoni (metal), AHOLA (hard rock/ metal) and solo. In addition, albums with other metal bands he has been lead singer and composed for, plus international metal projects...On top of all this he enjoys singing tributes, opera with symphony orchestras, christmas tunes...u name it.

So, about 17 years ago I attended a gig in a bomb shelter in Tampere. The audience was sparsely scattered and I was just about the only person in the first row, and definitely the only one head banging, while Jarkko Ahola's band, Teräsbetoni, was playing. Their debut album came out the next year. 🤘

Beautiful. He sounds like an angel. He reminds me James LaBrie, the lead singer of Dream Theater. I don't think he will be replacing Marko. Abandoning a soloist career to be a member of a band? Mmm. I don't know, I don't think is possible... But (big bu**) who knows... xD I think the most beautiful song of Nightwish is "Meadows of Heaven", it is from the album "Dark Passion Play". It is an undescribeable song, it has no equal. You will notice it when you listen to it. I would like to watch a reaction video of "Meadows of Heaven" :D

i just got internet back and was able to catch this vid. i live in san antonio, texas and i lost everything to water damage due to an apartment fire an upstairs neighbor had when they attempted to use their fireplace to heat their apartment on the first night it was cold here. 16 units were destroyed. luckily everybody got out and nobody was hurt. i don't blame the dude because he had an infant, the electricity turned off at 9 pm in our area, and by 2 am it was 35 degrees in our apartments and 15 degrees outside. the chimney caught fire due to poor maintenance on the apartment complex's part. so your info on climate change hits home, literally. as we continue to push forward with our machines to improve the human experience within the universe i believe eventually we will balance out the use of resources, the replenishment of resources, and the pollution that we make to be able to stabilize our future. until then, i hope minimal amount of people have to deal with such drastic swings in weather which can cause other problems due to desire to survive. missed watching your guys's vids. glad to see them again.

Tremendous vocal range and clarity, the ,only, one I've ever heard with slightly more range is, Dimash, what talent!

Jarkko Ahola and ICS Vortex, the only 2 guys I consider worthy of replacing Marko. But to be honest, I doubt Jarkko would leave aside his career to be a band member where he is not even the main singer, would be a waste a of his talent. That´s why I think ICS Vortex would be a better fill, since his role in Dimmu Borgir was the same as Marko´s in NW, and his talent is undeniable. PS: 2:54 Jarkko got known for playing in a finnish power metal band, Teräsbetoni (2005-2015, currently in a hiatus), before going as solo artist.

You should take a listen To him with Northern Kings try the Tina turner classic cover of we don't need another Hero with a surprise.

JP Leppäluoto is a friend of Jarkkos and was singing with him and Marko in Northern Kings. He has an amazing voice as well, one of the best metal voices in Finland. He was the singer of a fantastic goth metal band called Charon, please react to their big hit Colder 💙🇫🇮 He also was playing The Dragon in Dark Sarah's hit Dance with the Dragon that I would love to see you react to also!!!

Jarkko Ahola says he cannot do written notes and has never had a singing lesson, as he prefers his original signature. He plays guitar and bass upside down.

Jarkko has an amazing voice and actually has an amazing range, I would've loved to see it demonstrated more in this song. I agree with Wolf, it would've been awesome if it was the Nightwish version! My parents who are old rockers (and still more into classic rock) love Jarkko, they've been to many of his concerts.

An excellent tenor voice and most skilful singer. A replacement for Marco he would not be, I guess. The start of something good and new will needed anyway, Marco probably is impossible to replace. A new era will be needed.

Nowadays Jarkko Ahola is known for his solo career but he made it to the bigger stages with the band Teräsbetoni (loosely translates to Steelconcrete). Their biggest first hit single was Taivas lyö tulta (Sky strikes fire). Teräsbetoni (IMO) falls in the sub-genre of battle metal or heroic metal. Nevertheless, it is great stuff.

If I would be Jarkko, I would apply for Nightwish no matter what, even if it would be just for one tour...(if Marco would return). As Tuomas plans a new album followed by a tour for his sideproject "Auri" after the next NW tour, Jarkko would still have plenty of time to develop his solo career anyway. The benefits of being a current member of Nightwish will open him many doors to concert promoters throughout Europe and more as well...yet he would need to stay on the humble side, to win the band's and in particular Floor's appreciation. He should be smart enough, to enjoy the Nightwish spectacle while not being overly responsible for it, though having the option to contribute with own songs, e.g. having Floor as backup or duet partner.

This dude is definitely classically trained. No question about it.

'How does he do it?' That is yet to be revealed...Pros who have analysed him say there is no one who has the facility to register transfer like he does...

Hmm i am agreeing with you, Jarkko would be an awesome replacement for Marko multi instrumentalist songwriter, he is finnish and played with Marko before (northern kings) Not to replace Marko but add something different. We will see who is gonna take his place in 4-5 weeks! 🤘

Jarkko is a tenor.. Marko isn't, instead he has that primitive roaring sound. I guess it would be wiser for NW to evaluate Troy as a singer and then see who'se going to play base and do some singing. One Imperial Age suffices.

Not a fan of this rumor, overall. Marko's amazing and I love him but Jarkko is simply too good for the current set lists. Sub in a few Human II Nature tracks (since it's the point of the tour and all), where Marko really just has Endlessness and is otherwise harmony, and it would be a tremendous waste of Jarkko's time and talent. Like when Annette was with the group Nightwish would be better off retiring a few songs from the set list (ones that Troy's not up to), or perhaps leaving Marko in as a backing track to help Troy to fill out his sound.

I had a chance to attend his Christmas concert in our local church. It was beautiful! He would be good for Nightwish.

Mr. J. Ahola is some who deserves this !! I'm from finland and Jarkko became famous with they high school project band, whose name was terasbetoni (those a is ä in finnish :) They play same kind metal, what Manowar plays, but Mr. Ahola stood out whole band lead singer. Jarkkos way in the general public celebrity was maby Finnish national tv program, whose name was Tahdet, Tahdet (Stars) and there he's sing one episode opera song Nessum Dorma allmost perfectly. Ahola is best and maby only option to replace Marco Hietala in Nightwish, if we speak Finnish singer and allso all other. 🤔🙂

In my opinion. Jarkko is too much of a lead singer and not good enough on the bas to play Marko's parts. From what I have heard he is a pocket bass player, mainly playing root notes.
