Love how much this absolutely sticks to the established canon of Jason's character, the inability to speak and disapproval of what he deems as poor moral choices.
@@cbaslee1 Maybe after the whole Freddy Vs. Jason competition thing happened, they got to talking and realized how much they both had in common. They both died in very violent ways at the actions (or inactions) of other people. Their motives for murder are both based on vengeance for those violent deaths, but they're not above involving people who had nothing to do with how they died in their hitlists simply for being friends with someone involved, or even just having a personality similar to someone involved. Perhaps on their off time, they sit around chatting about the most gruesome deaths they caused. Of course, this is all just speculation on how to explain how their actions in a questionably-canon crossover lead to this outside-of-canon, but still feels like it could be canon animation.
That’s not Jason’s character. He has the mind of a child, is immature and does EVERYTHING his mother tells him. She has this psychotic hatred for the original crystal lake counsellors but takes out her hatred on anyone who went there. When she died she summoned Jason back from the land of the dead and orders him to go and kill every person who goes to crystal lake and he’ll hunt down any survivors because is mother cannot stand it. Technically Jason never really died in the second film he was alive living in a shack but they kinda retcon that sort of. These characters seem like the opposite of their established characters
He bit off a kid's head at the previous stop and then threw a tantrum when he got scolded for it, so Jason took away his candy privileges as punishment. He's a sweet dad, but he knows when to put his foot down.
@crookback Is he? I mean possible rapist, sure. But that was towards an adult. Dont accuse someone without proper evidence! My client is innocent until proven guilty! NEXT TIME, ON CLOWN CRIMES
"No alcohol... no sex... no drugs..." - - - Jason You know, considering he is known for killing camp counselors who are doing this three things, that's coherent with his character.
While funny I believe you have to have your I.D with you no matter your age when you buy booze to make sure that it is you instead of someone else in America
I wanna imagine that this is how monsters in horror movies are, they are actors like everybody else. When their not filming their just normal polite people.
Everything about this is amazing, Jason using ASL, Samara trying on glasses, Freddy being the problem child, and Scissor Man being a klutz. Everything about this is amazing and I would love to see more.
@@alphaghoul If I remember correctly, he’s from an old Point and Click game called Clock Tower, I could be wrong, last I checked it was a game and just a video game
@@RenDaigoEN Well, series of games, I found that during my search, I think he’s Bobby Barrows, atfirst I thought he was Cropsy from the burning which I also found, but he looks too different.
The actual ASL used, the subtle filter, the ending music... this is quality stuff here. It's genuinely those small touches that make this feel production level holy crap, adult swim when!?
@@BML1236Despite the fact that Pennywise is the oldest woman around, technically (Yes, in the book (I think the Dark Tower series actually was where it was mentioned), It was actually female. Though it appeared as a male clown. Don't ask me why. I blame the crack)
I like how after Jason explains how he's "paying for the kids" the cashier kinda does the awkward semi-horrified flirty thing after that one shot of him, lol
I love how Jason refuses to use the sign for sex but instead finger spells it, absolutely adorable man Also he’s left handed! Which you can tell because he uses his left hand as his action hand, so this is also consistent with his movie counterpart who is also left handed! And in the credits you can see It stayed in the car!
@@STLCODPS3123 The action hand is the hand you use for the motion part of the sign, like the letter J, “I don’t know” etc There are signs that have both hands moving, like book or drive (not car, it’s the sign for car but you push your hands foreward like you’re moving, it’s the action version of the word) So yeah! Your action hand :))
I've watched this animation so many times over the years and I never noticed her doing that! Goes to show just how much detail Worthi always puts into his stuff
He doesn't have a legal ID to purchase booze, he has no access to drugs, and no hot teenage counselor would ever sleep with him because he's hideous, he smells awful, and he's three times her age. Jason is an incel.
Can we just APPRECIATE the sound design of the squeaky wet sneakers on the linoleum floor, the snippy scissors, and the plastic thingies on the sunclasses clinking about.
It relates to the ages of the franchise’s such as Jason and Freddy being the adults=80s penny wise=90s and the tape girl and other one being kids=2000s Btw can someone pls tell me who the one with the scissors is
Pennywise is that one friend that doesn’t wanna get out of the car for a break but asks for everyone to share their food edit: anyone notice the clown on the juice machine from worthi's most recent video
Absolutely adore when people write Jason as a dad-type way, since his mom was very caring towards him, and it's just so he'd be caring aswell... *rewind to all the jason movies where people begged for mercy and yet he mercilessly killed them all anyway*
i mean, his mom told him too, remember hes "mentally handicapped". it wasnt his mom really. probably has schizophrenia since his mum protected him from his father so he feels reliant on his mothers guidance but because moms dead, his subconscious brings her back using a voice. TL:DR mom isnt there, jasons telling himself what to do but thinking about it in his moms voice because hes "mentally handicapped"
He's incredibly nice to you if you're a child/innocent. If you're an edgy teenager, or just a teenager in general, or you're ESPECIALLY a camp counselor, you're done for. I've always liked Jason because he seemed like a tragic villain for the most part. Freddie on the other hand will kill literally anyone.
In a comic Jason was taking care of a fat kid that was bullid and he saved him ,it was creepy but nice Edit: and Jason only kills animals for food and not for the hunt but when people kill them for the hunt he fucks them up bad
Seeing what he went through during his childhood, it's pretty sweet. Not only that, the folks that play as him or any of the monsters in horror movies are usually the biggest sweethearts.
Love how chaotic Freddy is, clearly having the ability to teleport by poofing into the store, very much able to just grab some booze and poof out, yet being so lawful by grabbing the booze and showing the cashier his ID before paying for it. Also funny seeing Pennywise in the back... seems like undead monsters seem to have a rivalry with clowns, so where would a monster clown fit into the mix there?
Pennywise is the shy one who would rather be playing on a Gameboy than socializing since he lives in a cave and selectively chooses victims based on weakness, compared to the other villains Pennywise is the easiest to kill so he'd want to hide in the car.
Ahhhh the fact that Jason uses ASL like someone who’s actually signing is so cool!! Half of asl is the signs and the other half is body movements and expressions (just signing is like speaking in a monotone voice). You can read his tone through his movements (IE: awkward, hesitant movements when he’s apologizing for the trouble. Erratic, sloppy motions when he’s running up to Freddy. Etc etc) for It’s so cool to see someone actually know their stuff when having a character use ASL :D
@@whatsahandlehelppls you should definitely learn, i dont know why its not more encouraged in school. My grandma is deaf and it was so sad when I was young i wanted to get to know her but obviously i cant understand her. Its a beautiful thing and also I feel like black ops or secret agents should be able to talk without sound in certain situations
I'm glad you pointed more of that out. I felt it was really cool and, with your explanation, didn't release how much thought went into body language too
Is anyone else talking about the fact that they animated Jason's signing? I happen to have a disabled sibling that is unable to speak so it was crucial for me to learn sign language. Looking at this, I appreciate it for the hilarity and the correct signing. Many films and pieces of media hasn't really cared about showing accurate sign language because they don't think it will hurt anyone even though it just shows they have no interest at all in people unable to speak and they just wanted to be 'creative'. I just appreciate the work put into it is all. Also as a major horror fan, I am in love with this short animation.
Jason: (Freddy wheres Sadako?) Freddy: She crawled into the TV again. Jason: (What? I told you to stop her if she did that.) Freddy: To be fair. You left me alone with a kid. So really were both guilty. Jason: (I fucking hate you) Freddy: Back at ya bitch. *Stock laughing audience* "Just Killing Time" was filmed in front of a dead audience.
Not enough people appreciate clock tower guy and the fact that he’s so short and nearsighted that he trips over a bag of bagels idk how you make the clock tower guy adorable but you just did
the fluidity of him fingerspelling 😍 this is how ASL in cartoons should be done! i first watched this video when it came out, and since then i've been learning ASL, so it's fun to come back every few months and see how much i can pick up.
I like the little implication that this gas station attendant is fluent in sign language. Either she just happens to know it or in this alternate universe everyone is fluent enough to be able to communicate effectively. (I also like that this seems to be ACTUAL sign language, very beautifully done!) There's so many of these small moments and implications in your animations, I love them so much.
And there are so few animated examples of sign language, too. _Betsy Lee's No Evil_ and _The Dragon Prince_ are the only other two examples I can think of.
@@badtriceratops1867 I assume it would have to be since the animator used a video reference. There's an equal number of ASL cuss words as there are ones in English.
The way Jason uses sign language works genius in his character. It makes his sad childhood more accurate. Imagen the idea when he was bullied and drowned in the lake, he couldnt scream for help because he was born without a voice.
I still wish they did something to explain how he went from an undead child in the first movie to a full grown man in the second and beyond. I dunno something like the hockey mask contained his spirit and was found by the camp's custodian.
@@yuishishido8780 personally I don’t question it, simply because my brother was six foot at like 11. Kids growing at extreme rates is rare but not unprecedented.
@@yuishishido8780i think he felt pain in his adult form in the 1st movie but then turned into a zombie so now he doesnt give a shit about death and pain
“No Alchol, No sex, No drugs” is ironically in character with Jason, since when he was a kid he was bullied a lot due to his deformities and meanwhile the teenage councilors were either banging, drinking or smoking, which causes him to resent people doing this
@@tvgaming2132 They gotta be written that way otherwise you're watching someone mercilessly kill people. Which is already what's happening but when it's people you don't like you feel less bad about it.
@@tvgaming2132 Kinda feel like the people being killed are the actual victims though? Since that's the definition of a murder 'victim'. That's a bit of a weird way to justify it.
@@Palkia21 my favourite episode is when Jason trains demagorgan for a dog show because he's jealous of Mike myers and his death angel and the episode ends with Jason realising that it's OK to not be good at certain things
I love the fact that if jason was more chill, he'd actually be like this! "No drugs, no booze, no sex" It actually follows the principles of his killings! Amazing attention to detail!
I love how Scissor Man is in this, I'm a big fan of the Clock Tower games, and was happy to see some representation from a not-so-well known Horror game.
I love the fact Jason doesn't talk but he can do sign language that's makes alot of sense and logical other parodys have him talking, but this is smart
Horror game characters should be horror icons, too! I count Springtrap, Ink Bendy, Pyramid Head, and Scissorman to be horror icons like Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Ghostface, Chucky, Pennywise, Pinhead, Candyman, etc.
