Saw them at Kettlehouse in Missoula last week. Was like watching him with the Truckers in their heyday during this song. Him and Sadler put on a show within the show.
My babies were born with brown eyes, one baby stayed that way like my wife's one baby turned blue like mine Edit: I'm not disagreeing with you though! Lol just my personal experience
Get ready for the flattery because musicians all Over the globe are gonna be rushing to learn this one as a cover! Fantastic per usual and a jam tune that is gonna shine on a set list
Wow, yet another great album. I think I've listened to this track like 5 times today, and the last track, Miles, maybe 10. I'm so excited to see them in August. I first saw Isbell opening up for John Prine (RIP) and I was hooked. Such an amazing show, start to finish.
Miles is a stone cold classic. Beatles, Petty, Young with hints of Zep and Floyd ... it's a KILLER. And yeah I've played it 10 times by now. I made a playlist with the songs reordered and 'This Ain't It' was my choice for the opener. I think Death Wish is a much better late album track than opener. Obvs Jason disagreed lol.
@@bvaljalo Yeah I agree with you about Death Wish. I've taken issue with a few album composition choices that have been made in the past too. For example, I love Super 8 Motel but I don't think it belongs on Southeastern compositionally. At the same time I am so grateful for everything they make, and I am so glad they are doing what they do.
The turnaround on Miles sounds like he wrote it for Jane's Addiction. I seriously thought I'd be hearing Perry Farrell doing a guest shot. 😊 I mean this in a good way, so happy that Jason can still surprise me.
A couple of weeks ago, I've been listening to this song in a bus after loosing all my money and got back stuck in my home town in a third world country where tough is tough.. It hit so hard at the moment, and the "how did you end up here" was piercing deep. Now by the grace of god I managed my way to leave back to a better place in a couple of days. Looking forward to recover and tighten up my back. Now as I listen back to it, It reminds me of that scratch but gives me great energy.
Been listening to the new album all day, had to drive all over Co. Limerick in Ireland for work and listening to all the sounds and stories on Weathervanes was just perfect. The lyrics made my jaw drop to the floor so many times I almost didn't need my feet on the pedals!!
I know a lot of comments are usually on Jason's lyrical mastery, but man... I don't know what it is, but the band's sound is on a different level. *Chef's kiss
Jason produced it and went for that live band sound instead of the vocal forward in the mix stuff that Dave Cobb did -- I for one am absolutely loving the sound of this record as it lets the band shine through.
He knows it. Jason’s knowledge of music is impressively deep and wide: Songwriting, gear, across genres - I could listen to him wax rhapsodic for hours.
One of my numerous life regrets is not having Jason do a back porch session when maybe we could afford him years ago. My new plan is either hitting the lottery or having him really really feel generous on our 35th or 40th wedding anniversary 😊
More of a Mick Taylor’s Stones era to me, but anyway… GREAT SONG! Been a fan since I saw you in 2017 at Milwaukee on the Outlaw tour. Greetings from Argentina!
Goddamn, man! This song makes me laugh and wanna rock! Jason's channeling so many different artists and styles into a perfect honkytonk rocker!!! I agree with those above!! I wanna see the 9 minute live version...
Got the opportunity to see you at First Avenue when you came here last winter, my third show of yours, all have been fantastic, but that atmosphere was amazing. Keep up the good work y'all!
How could anyone get a First Ave ticket for Isbell??? I had a hard enough time getting an Old 97s ticket at Fine Line! I love that these bands adore Minneapolis!
I played this for my 7 year old daughter and now she works as a bartender in a honky tonk bar, chewing tobacco and cussin out truck drivers. Imagine when she turns 8!
Yep it was sure 'nuff a mistake for Wisconsin to lower the age a person can serve alchohol. Had ta be done 'tho what with all Trump's trubles with the Law.
I assume the guitar is tuned to open G but this is possible to do in standard, probably on a tele- use a low gain overdrive and a delay that can give you a nice slapback will get ya started
A lyrical genius guitar god playing with the most intuitively awesome band-each at the top of their game-with a second guitar god thrown in for good measure. No, I’m not talking about Springsteen and the E-street Bad. I’m referring to its second coming. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit! I’m so glad I became aware of them before everyone else has. It’s like we get to witness a miracle before everyone else is aware of it. Also, his wife is an incredible singer/songwriter just like Springsteen’s.
The Allman refernces are kind pissing me off!! Jason, and Amanda, deserve not to be compared to any other thing!! They are killing it on thier own! Let it be!! Love to all Jason lovers! My 2 cents!!
Hope you see this! Do you realize George Strait, Garth Brooks, Glenn Cambell, George Jones, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and so many other HALL OF FAME country artists did not write their own songs but they have the presence and the voice to make a song their own. I'm thinking you need one of those.
Kinda makes me think of how the camgirl trend has taken over a lot. I'm so glad the trend didn't start 2 or 3 decades back. I'm not "woke" but I hope they can wake up before life's gone to pot, and not the reefer kind 🙂
Noticed your creative-envy comment toward JA and his latest, perfect song and vid. Sorry for you, jealous JI, along with your sad, implicit support of street chaos in the cities.
@@leigel3 I probably would've kept my mouth closed if he wasn't so disrespectful/awful to his audience if they disagree with him on literally anything, but since he's cruel and discriminatory..I figured I'd tell the truth here.
They find it some times, and i also feel like they make some sounds like another band to try and sell some records. i have been to 4 of his concerts or maybe 5, they are very good. They just did there normal concert at RED BUTTE GARDEN ,Salt Lake city ,Utah on sat. July 8th, i passed on them this year. i have lost some interest in his music, i have 2 cd's of his i do not listen to them. too many bands and a lot of new music being recorded and released. i can not keep up with it. A lot of bands touring now, a lot are stopping in Utah. The economy is good, people throwing more money for live music.
Jason Aldean? You obviously haven’t seen Isbell live. Aldean should stick to the Miller Lite/White Claw crowd who likely can’t even play a chord or read a note of music….
@@dangibson4517no i have not seen this guy live but i have ears i hear his songs and they are ehhh whaever . Jason in the other hand live the crowd goes insane . Jason will light it up country/ rock . We are not even arguing facts JA is king . He has managed to combine both and keep you entertained all night . Im a trucker im falling a sleep if i listen to this guy for one more song . Ohh baby how u end up here 20 times lmaoo
@@KlodianHysi ignore dan his opinion is as WORTHLESS as he is..He is arguing about with everyone that says anything positive about Jason Aldean,That alone proves he should meet a D driver
I'll have to give this a thumb down just fer not giving what I asked for . Don't give me what you think I asked for but actually what I did a search on . This isn't hard rock and when you just type in hard rock . The request doesn't get any simpler than that . Actually this isn't even good country !
Whiskeycitydiggers Nothing personal or against your music . I did a search twice Hard Rock each time it gave me everything but Hard Rock . Y'all's song just happened to be first on the page , so I decided to vent there . Not as if you can actually complain to an actual person . It just pissed me off I mean a search doesn't get much simpler than that ! My comments was directed at y'all just the establishment . And if more comments are made good or bad maybe it will hit the right ears . You get the same deal doing a search for country , you get classic or southern rock . Search classic rock it gives you folk music and country . I'm beginning to think their momma's sent em here just to piss me off 😂 But to offend y'all wasn't my intentions if I did so , I apologize !
