Im quite sure that Gustav Leonhard must have done that. He is or was...a great Harpsichordist and I've heard a lot music transcribed by him for his instrument :amazing! Also beautiful the lute version by Hopkinson Smith!
In my opinion it's even harder to play this way with all those complex movements to make. Beside, the gavottes aren't this long and thus can be learn quite quickly when only focusing on them.
Wow, you completely missed the point of 'Deerse's compliment to Vieaux's playing... I advise you to study the semantics of the word 'intellectual' as a descriptive term in playing/interpretation and to perhaps spend less time going out of your way to start flame wars on youtube.
