Here it is 2024, I’ve watched this clip maybe 50 times since 1999 and I still am awestruck by this bike. I suspect Jay doesn’t drive it much these days. 350 bhp and 74 years of age don’t play well together…
Jay: You know, it's funny. It's not until 70 that it really- but you don't want to break the law, that would be wrong *Turns cameras off Also Jay: ok, let's go 200mph now
I've heard Jay used to get stopped for speeding all of the time years ago, and the cops usually would let him go...especially when they learn he's filming and episode....but he's toned it down a lot the last years because of all of the traffic cameras, and nobody's getting out of those. Skynet is starting to take over.
wasn't really a fan of jay until i saw him on rnickymouse's channel. dude is really about getting out and driving all of his cars. nice to see them driven and not just shown off. pretty cool guy
curse1 neither as I until I found the jay Leno’s garage RU-vid channel. Seeing him on the Tonight show, you can tell he’s comfortable on stage, but seeing him in his garage with his cars and the guys, you can tell he’s completely at home. He’s a collector, but even more than that, he’s a car historian. I have a lot of respect for the guys that keep some of these cars on the road.
I remember reading an article, I think in Cycle World back in the day when Jay first bought this. He recounted how he was at a traffic light and a Honda Civic started creeping up behind him, and he looked back to make sure the Civic wasn’t going to hit him, and he noticed the front air dam on the Civic started twisting and folding in on itself as it started to melt sue the the Y2K bike’s exhaust temps
Empty hangar. Gone a long way Jay, and still kicking :) Best collector around, because he drive they all and don't puke when replacing the matching number part to another better or modern one.
If the day comes that I can get an expensive toy for myself I wouldn’t want a Hellcat, Lamborghini, Vette, none of that but I want one of these in the worst way. 😁

Imagine how many things that would melt, burn up or get injured in just 1 week of every day use. 2 second delay on shut down of throttle is a major hazard issue. I'll take one.
No, it's a two second delay on starting the jet back up. The first two seconds of engine whine is the starter, then the turbine kicks in. Look at his startup videos over the years for this bike
Novusod Jet fuel does not have an octane number associated with the name. It’s simply Jet-A, most of the time. Octane is associated with Gasoline and corresponds with how much it can be compressed before it ignites.
Beautiful novel and impressive juxtaposition of a 110 yr old engine design and CNC billet aluminum. Lay this down and you can whip out your titanium black American Express card. To Starbucks and back only. Look out Arch.
Yes... unfortunately Jay has an orphanage worth of kids being dragged around by their mothers trying to get DNA to be added to the will... it's a occupational hazard for rock stars.
somewhere out there someone is going to put their Milwaukee 8 in a helicopter just to prove it could be done. lol, New meaning to a V-twin powered chopper.
Dear Jay I am straining to hear each the extremely interesting history of each car. "Straining-to-hear" takes the fun out of it. Maybe utube should put a person "giving shine language" at the bottom (kidding).
By looking at this bike i'd say it's at least 800 pounds. To think it weighs only 460lbs about the same as most 1000cc sportbikes but with over 2 times the power! What a insane machine.
As a tanker...tanks have jet engines on them..so I've worked with more than a few...they will burn any kind of fuel....diesel and jet fuel work the best but itll run on any fuel
alexlam24 Ya, the drive shaft is not mechanically attached to the turboshaft engine turbine. You could hold the wheel while he increases power. it will not spin until it builds up enough air velocity in the engine to turn the shaft.
How does Jay buy insurance. I can hear Jay on the phone with his insurance agent. Really, I need to put my jet bike on our policy.... how much for full coverage?
