Imagine being 12 yrs old watching your favorite band perform from the front row, only to go on a decade later and literally be in that same band. Dude is literally living a dream
I walked into a Guitar Center one day and unbeknownst to me Jay was doing sound check for a drum clinic later that day. I had no idea who he was or that he just joined Slipknot. I just stood there watching him clapping. 😂 He was amazing and I’ve never experienced another drummer like that live since.
Man i remember the day learning that this jay guy was replacing joey, it felt weird. But this guy WAS GOOD! SUPER GOOD. now here we are again. WTF GUYS!?
Almost as if clown and Corey are hard to get along with if you didn’t come from the same broken background as them. How many people have been replaced now?
People are not getting the real story behind everything dude they get a bad rep everyone in every band after 20 plus years has issues but none of us not in the band know a bit of truth about the ins and outs and the behind the scenes working and doings and undoings of slipknot Corey and clown have been stamped the reason for every problem since day one so naturally now anything that happens is going to be blamed on Corey and Clown
I’m so excited to hear what Eloy is gna bring with the new music! Hearing how Eloy is making the existing songs his own with his own fills and style, it’s insane how much Eloy has elevated Slipknot to new unimaginable heights! Jay needed a metronome to control his speeding up during the live shows, and Eloy is so good that they aren’t using a metronome live anymore! That’s amazing lol such a big difference and brings a big relief to the band!
@@nathandrums0 My comment was based on comments made by Jays live drum tech (Yeti) in Slipknot. You are correct as in I do not know if the drum tech was telling the truth. But one fact is that Jay struggled with Joey’s songs. Anyone that is familiar with music can tell he struggled live. But my comment was made based on the highly credible research done in this video below. No one has had any better research done that I’ve seen about behind the scene scenario’s with Jay’s time in Slipknot. If you’re interested in facts, you can watch it yourself here… My last reply to you is; there’s a reason Jay has been fired from every band he’s been in (also covered in this video) and after the research I’ve seen, I can confidently say, Jays nepotism is def rooted deep in Jays attitude as a drummer. Like, “do you know who my dad is?!” type of energy, and no band ever wants to hear that shit. Now onto to Eloy, he is against triggers, and if you’ve seen the live vids of Eloy in SK so far, they sound so much better with Eloy compared to Jay. They are tiers above when Jay was in the band, it’s objective, you can’t even argue that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UtxdmFpSVbg.htmlsi=Gb4Awh9AfD0PxT6Y
@@justinmiller9059 couple things: 1) he didn’t struggle to play the songs. He played them fine. The band as a whole struggled to maintain a solid tempo. Jim root actually mentions this in an interview from around 2-3 years ago. I saw it fairly recently and I’ll see if I can find it and link it here. He would not have been chosen to play with them let alone for 9 years if he was unable to play the songs. 2) slipknot has fired so many members of itself. And by slipknot, I mean Corey and clown. It’s no secret that they’re tyrannical. More than half the band now is gone and replaced. Jay was fired for “creative” differences which usually means unfair treatment or pay and he fought back because that’s now a pretty open fact about slipknot and how they treat each other. 3) Jay has not been fired from every band. This video isn’t “the most credible research out there.” It’s all spectacularly bullshit made assumptions about one’s life. Acting like a RU-vid video is a credible source is hilarious.
@@nathandrums0 Somebody get this guy a towel so he can wipe Jays peanut juice from his lips. You are blind an deaf if you think Jay had good tempo or had good blast beats or double bass rhythm
I must admit how much he resembles Joey while playing and has done a respectful replacement. I can only think Jay must have demanded a large sum to continue in the successful band that he was elected out in favor of another impressive but not as known player
I wholly agree. I'm sad that my Slipknot experience won't feature Joey doing a 360 no-scope with his whole friggin kit. Joey's shoes are pretty big to fill. I think what Jay is doing by giving us these cam views is an epic way to engage us maggots though. I'd love to see a Sidcam at some point 😆
@@Boognish_ Opinion's are like assholes everybody has one and in my opinion Weinberg is more technical I'm a drummer and percussionist over 40 yrs of giving lessons from Jazz , Death Metal off time syncopations , polyrhythms and every thing in between in my opinion Weinberg has better chops, speed and just saying Slipknot isn't hard to play
@@shelldonalexander989 he's the drummer for one of the best metal bands in the world* Just go ahead and check his kit tour video, the guy is clueless. Again, I do admire Jay's success story, but he could really use some lessons, just like the rest of us (I've been a metal drummer for 22 years, currently focusing on deathcore).
