It's a game that excited even a young boy from far away East Asia. When I was a boy in my early teens, listening to the OST of a game that my father played on the computer he bought for work in the early 2000s, I'm tearing up.

If you loved this ost, you will love Pizza Tower, that game grabbed a lot of stuff from jazz jackrabbit 2 and warioland, and when it comes to this game, they mainly grabbed the cartoonish artstyle, fast paced gameplay and funky music.

This brought a tear to my eye. I remember playing Jazz Jackrabbit 2 when i was literally in the kindergarten. It was one of the first games I've ever played, along with games like Pokemon Silver or Stunt GP (another old, pretty forgotten racing game with banger OST, if anyone here knows the game, I'd be surprised). Thank you for covering this OST and giving me a small nostalgia trip. Although I'm not really into learning about music basics, or playing any instruments for that matter, I still feel like I'm bringing out some new knowledge with those videos. Your videos just feel to me like a nice, cozy place where I can rest my mind for a bit.

I've seen a comment here recommending Pizza Tower, and I second it. The soundtrack in Pizza Tower is funky and fresh, FILLED with banger after banger, and it's as 90s as it gets. Absolutely would recommend you listen to it for yourself.

If there any series I recommend listening to, its gotta be the yakuza series, the entire series always has bangers after bangers, I personally would start with Yakuza 0 and move on the reset of the series if you wanted to!

Detuning might be a PAL vs. NTSC MOD playback engine? Though JJ2 tracks were S3Ms, not sure if they had te same issue...

JJ2 were .J2B files, which are compressed module files, likely from .IT (Impulsetracker) because beta versions show this before they were compressed and The Secret Files also used .IT files. Files were played using .J2B extension directly using OpenMPT, which gives the most accurate playback. Detuning due to a playback engine is highly unlikely. What different trackers struggle with is pattern data, commonly volume or gliding notes. Tuning is something in the sample data, it's very hard to screw that kind of thing up, and if it's ever screwed up it's probably by a full Octave instead of a half note distance. It's more likely that the sample quality was just not standardized, composers at that time took what they could get, without having much knowledge or experience about musical engineering.

This a suggestion but not relevant, do you think you could listen to the "Super Smash Bros Ultimate" OST? there is over 1000 songs mostly from other games but there are a few originals and remixes that just slap, one original is "Lifelight" which is the lore song and the story mode lore song. There are also some cool remixes such as the Pikmin 3 "Mission Mode' remix which honestly slaps, another original song is known as 'Halland/Dalarna" which is from "Minecraft" yeah Steve got into the Smash series as a fighter and broke twitter, but the song is based off of two areas in the spinoff RPG "Minecraft Dungeons." This song also plays in Steve's reveal trailer which apparently broke twitter. Also Surprisingly there is "Flatzone" which is a song that is based on Mr. Game & Watch's beeps and boops, I also just recommend listening to Pikmin music it's pretty cool.

The composition is one of the best VGM soundtracks ever in my opinion. I wish we could hear more soundtracks that are this catchy, unique, colourful and with attention to detail. It has a very clear vision for all of the tracks and stages, something missing in many OSTs in todays age. My only gripe is that the sound quality is a little aged. If the soundtrack would be remade with high quality samples and mixing the soundtrack would be a big hit in todays age.
