In this video I check out a COMPARISON between 3 Jazzmaster Guitars the Revelation RVJT Vs The Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster and the Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster
All 3 Jazzmaster guitars are setup the same all with D'Adarrio EXL 110 10 gauge strings
In this comparison video I will only be using the bridge pickup playing a mixture of clean, distortion and lead.
I will also be uploading 3 more videos of the Jazzmaster Guitars playing this song in full on each video check the playlist link below

haha awesome it was a quadruple meat fest yesterday I felt I needed to show all the Guitars in full. The revelation is such an amazing guitar.

I have the Revelation RVJT and have to say it is my go to guitar when recording. So many different sounds you can get out of it. The neck is very comfortable to. Only thing I changed was i replaced the pick guard with a gray blue tortoise shell and put chrome pick up covers and knobs. Now it has the George Jettson look.

Those Entwhistle pickups really do the job. 👍👍👍 The JMascis lead tone comes a close second to the Revelation... but in pure rhythm mode the Revelation pups do the job. Which would I buy...? Not sure. Despite the Standard 60’s Squier being my least favourite tone wise, I would probably still go for that as esthetically for me it works. And can always upgrade pickups. As the headstock on the Revelation, lets it down. If someone gave me a Revelation Body, I would pop in an authentic Fender Neck.

The Enwistle pickup are grrrreat !!!I've swapped out Squiers , and epiphones with Enwistle pickups with vast improvements.

Revelation are playing the same game as Squier but the same league? No way, Revelation are kicking the ball out of the park whilst Squier are nowhere near for the same money. Squiers are solid, don't get me wrong, but Revelation are easily equal with MIM Fenders.

I have to totally disagree with you the higher end Squier are definitely on a par with revelation, I've owned a lot of them

Hey man, great video! I really like the tones you get out of the revelation and both Squiers too. I’m planning to buy revelation rjt 60 deluxe. I love the natural finish, jazzmaster style vibrato and alnico pickups. I’m form Central Europe so unluckily I cant try revelation guitars and I have to buy it online. I am more of a blues player and I usually use neck pickup. Did you consider making neck pickup comparison? I’d really appreciate it! Also which one do you prefer? Thanks!

Glad you like the video, Revelation guitars are awesome you'll love it especially the neck pickup. When I review and demo guitars I show every position to please the wider audience

The Revelation is a lot more guitar than the others, the Varitone control isn't explored in this comparison, but its essentially like having five different guitars at the flick of a switch.

Can someone help me? I am complete lefty beginner, over 50. I like the harley Benton CST 24 and then I saw this guitar with much cleaner sound I would say (but also more expensive). I like modern rock, Skorpions, zztop, eagles, rhythm n blues. I would like to hear the opinion of someone with more experience about these two guitars. Thank you.

The Revelation was the best. I wonder if it's due to the p90 pickups, or because a strat trem is superior to the Jazzmaster Trem + Tune o matic.

I sort of liked the Revelation myself, but it was close. Is Revelation from the UK? I've not heard of them.

It was a close call all round, Yes Revelation are a British Company based in Wales. They do make some badass guitars and very reasonably priced too.

There is somthing about the 70's headstock i just LOVE..., for me a headstock shape won't make it play any better....the revalation just , well its not for me...

I love the larger 70s headstock, I wasn't only impressed with the revelation headstock but it not too bad in the flesh

I recently purchased a Revelation because I found the features more appealing than a Squier Jazzmaster or Jaguar. I wasn't disappointed. Can't speak for them all but the one I bought - RTJ60H with covered humbuckers - is a truly beautiful guitar.

Wall hangers are the best option, they do fit in them little triangle collapsible ones but have to be careful it goes in

How did you get the arm to stay in the tremolo like that on the J Mascis? Mine falls out and isn’t as stable as yours. Help!

@@theguitarmanifesto that's no problem at all! I used the J. mascis in the studio to record my bands album and I wouldn't get the trem arm to stay. I was just wondering if mine was messed up.

Revelation make nice guitars. The only thing i don't like about their Jazzmaster style guitar is the smaller body compared to a real Jazzmaster

I noticed simply because i learned and always played on Jazzmasters and Jaguars. It's not necessarily a bad thing though, they're very good guitars and i own a 12 string revelation with this style body, it's probably the best playing 12 string i've owned and i've had some good 'uns.

I love Jags and Jazzmasters had so many over the years, the Revelations are great guitars even if they are a little smaller

All sound good with slight variations. Revelation sounds like it has higher output pickups - seems to break up more quickly with distortion. I’m guessing it doesn’t have the “rythym” circuit that the Squiers and Fenders provide? I recently got the VMJM and am really liking it’s unique tremolo, middle position and ability with one button to go to the Rythym position to roll off the treble.
