I was watching. This bloke shredding on a interview with the captain on andertons the other day. Bored with it after 5 minutes. I could listen to you all day! Great stuff Dave!
O.K. Who's the numpty who thumbs down this video? Were you watching while swinging upside down from the branch of a tree whilst hanging by the tail?!! Cheeky 🐒!! If only you could be bothered to take the time and effort to watch and listen to this properly, you might appreciate true talent and a genuine guy who puts all his enthusiasm into demonstrating "the tools of his craft" to others, who unlike yourself are greatfull and thankfull for what Dave does. Please!! Whoever you are, let's see where your talent lies, let's see you do even half as well or simply sit on your thumbs and crawl back into the dark hole from whence you slithered!! Dave, Thank you!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Legend has it that this guitar was originally white before Dave accidentally cut his finger... But seriously the new camera and sounds has done a tremendous improvement! Now it's even clearer how amazing your playing is!! :-)
I'm strongly considering either this or the very similar Vintage Surfmaster model. I like the look of the Filtertrons in the Vintage version, but since I already have a Jag I like the wider range Trem on this one, and probable wider range of tones(plus I can just get the Entwhistle filterons).
I only see one review on the tube with the humbuckers...too bad there is a lefty on reverb and I don’t know if I want to pull the trigger. Humbuckers always seem less responsive with more bass and darker on the usual.
Revelation makes guitars that cost LIKE GUITARS, and not like cars. Revelation is fair. I can’t even imagine what would they do if they wanted to make a £500 to £700 guitar...
Only problem I've encountered with Revelation so far is getting my hands on one. I ordered a Quad back in March and it doesn't look like I'm going to see it until June some time. I've been told it's the same for all the UK dealers ... Bummer
@@milo6046 I love it. The range of tones is massive. Mixing and matching the four pickups alone makes for a wide range THEN you have the ATN tone selector on top of that. Took a while to work through 'all' the tones before I could choose the ones I preferred. Even then I get a suprise now and then. That has to be a Good Thing right ?
@@milo6046 The single coils on their own have their own tone and are not simply Fender clones. They're arranged NNSS magnetically so choosing an N and an S will get you into humbucking land. Build is upper Far East factory quality. After about 2 years I had a tiny bit of fret sprout to file back and polish but that's it. I got mine from Worcester Guitar Centre. They were coming over in container load batches. I just missed a batch and had to wait a few months. I don't know what the supply is like nowadays.
@@milo6046 I'm glad that you asked me this today. It got me to go pick it up and play it. It lives in my living room with my Strat, SG and a couple of others but it's been a few weeks since it got it's turn. You can still get Tele like highs when you need them but then you've got all those other tones to choose from as well. Let us all know if you get one.
I bought one of these guitars based mainly on this review, and it's BY FAR the best guitar I've ever owned! Just wish I had a fraction of your talent Dave! Currently trying to learn the intro piece that you played, it's stunning! Thanks for finding me my new guitar, and for the brilliant videos! Keep 'em coming! 😀
That's one nice looking and sounding sounding axe,I have been doing some research into , Alan Entwistle and I like his stuff, great playing as always dave, keep Em coming!
I’m about to buy my first electric, and as a leftie with a beginner budget, it was looking like a toss up between either a squier strat or tele, but these revelation guitars have really peaked my interest. Would you recommend one over a squier for a noob like myself?
Every time you demo a guitar you make we want it! Video is amazing. The microphone makes everything seem complete now. I really love it. I really need to invest in a semi-hollow now. Cheers Dave.
I got the RT45 also for a back up to my 335 i know the shoulders are different on them but again finding a left handed Gibson 345 is hard and expensive so i just went with a left handed 335. Again the Revelation goes toe to toe with the Gibson so i had no reservations about buying the RT, it's in Pelham blue.
This guitar sound amazing and you know how to give some superbe sound of this Revelation, great video again Dave , you vibrates together , sooooo cooolllll Dave, your melody are phenomenal, I love it !!!!
Hi there,I just bought such a guitar the other day.Nice!A wonderfull guitar. Question: how do I fix the tremelo arm (whammybar) to the guitar? Mine falls off/out all the time :'(
I own a bunch of guitars, all of them nice, most of them cost at least 3 times more, but ... since I got my RJT60 5 years ago it became my main axe, the tremolo bridge is amazing ( I set it up supersoft, floating, and it stays in tune like a motherfucker) entwistle x90s and ATN system are the cherry on my cake and I’m planning to buy at least two more in the future. Great playing Dave. Looking forward to jam together soon.
I had a Fender MIJ Thinline Jaguar, was a lovely guitar. I paid £600 for it and sold it about 3 years later for £1400. I didn't realise they were sought after.
W-W-W-Wow! Dave, everytime I think you've surpassed yourself you surpass yourself again and again and again. I want to rush out and buy ones of these, I'm a jibbering, dribbling wreck too now wahhh!
Any possibly of a full review of the zoom g2 at some point? I always see the pedal as a staple on your gear and would love to hear you go more in depth with the tones you can form with it
I completely understand your fascination with this amazing guitar - I have the green model. They could definitely take double what it costs ... it's a dream to play and a ton of sounds you can get out of it - I made a few small changes, locking tuners and fender knobs and a better output jack connector - btw, you're playing a hell of a good guitar man!
Hey Dave, a latecomer here! Would you go for the TL the regular RJT-60 with P90's? Or maybe a regular one (I just like that one more, aesthetically, you know) with a pickups swap: these H90 HB's in place of standard P90's? 🤔 What do you think? Tons of respect from Italy!
@@thedavesimpson I wish you would have told me "Go for the regular one and change pups if you like", ''cause I think it's a better looking guitar (not a fan of TL F finish) and I'm in love with it. I'm a blues guy: can I go wrong with the p90s one?
Dave, this is the last time I bother you, I swear! As I said, I prefer the look of the RJT-60 and I was leaning toward P90's, but after watching your video I totally agree with you: these HB's are great both clean and dirty (especially for the primitive blues a-là Jr. Kimbrough, RL Burnside etc that I use to play), and probably more versatile than P90s. So I'm thinking about buying a RJT-60 and then swapping pickups from X90 to H90 (no tap coil system in the RJT, ok, though I guess I could install one as well). Could this be a good compromise between sound and aesthetic? Is it worth it or should I get past the F hole in the TL and just buy me one? What do you think?
Well I went an bought one and it's utterly, fantastically wonderful thing of great beauty, but now the wife is furious with me because we can’t afford to fix the boiler untill next month - and it's all your fault Simpson!
Have to confess...neck hairs erected when you greened it....only happened once before when i first heard whitney reach notes I had never heard before......please take that as a very high compliment, excellent!,😀😀
Hi Dave I love your videos, although I've come late to these ones on Revelation! If you can redcall, did you prefer the RJT-60 Thinline to the RJT-60 Ghost?
I'm a great fan of your no-nonsense reviews and playing. I'm also intrigued by the Revelation stuff you have shown us. One question; how's the factory set up, or have they been 'fettled' before you get them? The reason I ask is Chinese-built guitars frequently need frets dressing, crowning and polishing which obviously adds to the initial low cost of the instrument. Thanks again for your informative and entertaining reviews.
You're a star Dave - fantastic playing as usual matched only by your great enthusiasm:-) The only trouble is I'll either have to stop watching your vids on Revelation guitars or start sending you invoices for the extra purchases you've inspired me to make! I agree, Alan Entwistle is a bit of a genius and he's doing a great service for guitar players. Thanks Alan, cheers Dave, nice one, take care!
I've just bought one and yes they are an incredibly nice piece of kit the build quality is superb and it was play straight out the box tuning it was a given.once you get your head around the controls it sounds amazing
Got to say a big thank you Dave....never heard of revelation guitars until by chance come across your video and wow....and again by chance found a guy selling one for £100. My God I see exactly why you can't put it down...it's got to be the most comfortable guitar and the most versatile guitar I now own...what an absolute steal...again many thanks Dave...keep up the good work my friend.
Another great video Dave. So cool. (In fact so cool i never even saw you slip your hat on!) I really appreciate the way you can just go from the Heartbreakers' Mike Campbell to Peter Green so effortlessly! You're an inspiration to us all. Btw..If you're still thinking about touring with a Peter Green tribute band could you please come up to Ayr Scotland? We even have regular 'blues nights' in one of the local pubs!
