JB Does RaceGOW2 // Week 2 

Acro is definitely the play to get the fastest times in racegow, but as you said it's actually kind of painful to learn. I can't remember who said it but someone told me it takes about 10,000 crashes to get comfortable racing acro on tight courses. Know us pilots with family life and the like make it kind of difficult to get that kind of practice in, but the simulator comes up huge in this area not just for getting the practice in, but making it so you're not constantly repairing after crashes. If you do stick to angle mode there's tricks to make it a bit better for racegow, the first thing is what is your angle limit? If it's not 85+ boost it up so you can get more lean in and take tighter turns and get up to speed faster. Are you mixing enough roll to your yaw? You can set up an analog to what emuflight used to do with dual axis steering just to dig a little harder into the corners in your mixer settings on the radio. One other trick I use is putting in a throttle cap while learning the course so I can get the tight lines in, then slowly raising it as I get more comfortable on the course, and most the time I get my best times while it's still below 100% (think 90% track 1, 77% tracks 2/3). Personally I find when I can throw the whoop around without needing too much correction from blowing stuff out I can get much better times

I did the week 1 track for fun after seeing your video about it. It was my first time ever trying any sort of racing and I enjoyed it! I was able to get my 3 consecutive lap time down to 30.5 seconds after 12 batteries and I was so proud of myself for beating Bardwell 😁

The Mob 6 is a great BNF. Can't go wrong with it. And changing to the WeBleed Screamer motors are the sweet spot!! All your missing is changing the camera to the Beta FPV CO2 and using the HQProp new 31mmx3 lightweight props. Swapping to the WeBleedFPV Crown frame will save you some weight, and make it fly a lot better to.

Don’t give up on Angle Mode for tracks like these (well, in general too). Kevin from Emuflight has added new math to the dev branch of Quicksilver that is even better than what he did in Emu. You can now put 90 degree max angle and it doesn’t gimbal lock like BF does in Angle at high deflection. That mixed with DAS (roll into yaw, yaw into roll on the radio) has now made Quicksilver my favorite. I wish I could just pop over to your place and set you up my QS rig I’m flying, it’s really really good. I don’t know how y’all still fly Betaflight’s Angle mode :P

easy peasy with the 35mm props to get bi blades, if they are not available yet, take some quad blades, snip a pair of blades off, custom bi blades fly great, least for freestyle i can verify, i do not race, those guys are whoopsters

Would love to see you go into specs on all these whoops with the different frames , motors/props, and have actual times and stats to go along with it. Wonder if the new mob6 is any quicker. Would love seeing the differences/times and hear your opinion on everything. Haven't seen any video like that and the only thing that comes close is reddit

Do you use any throttle expo? When I added expo my indoor acro whooping improved a bunch. Increases resolution at throttle mid (avg flying %, not hover %) or so I understand it.

I submitted Track 2 and Track 3 with a Meteor65. I pre-ordered a Mob6 2024 (non-hdzero) from Pyrodrone, but who knows if it will be here for Track 4.

Would 26k kv motors do better for the battery I’ve heard you don’t gain much thrust after the 28k kv mark

This might be a stupid question, but I can't find an answer anywhere: Are the tracks built around a standard "set" of PVC pipes? Like do I need to worry about possibly cutting new PVC every course or do you cut one set at the beginning and you know that set is going to be used every course?

LOL don't worry JB, it was a poor track design that definitely needed a rework before we all had to fly it. I submitted a track design for Track 5 so maybe Skittles will use it.

Im quite thrown off. I was wanting to buy the Meteor 65 pro someday. Is it just that its bad for racing or overall? Im currently "test flying" my friends Mob 6, the version which came with a ph 2.0 plug. We upgraded it to a bt 2.0 plug and installed an led such as an elrs reciever. Im mentioning this because that might impact my opinion. Im only getting like 2.5 mins out of the mob 6. I like freestyling and flying fast. Is the meteor 65 pro still worth buying if its "bad" in a way / "sloppy"?

The meteor 65 pro seems to quote 23.0g without battery, the mobula6 hdzero 25.7g. Not completely sure if these are the specs for the craft used, but assuming the Happymodel flies better because it is lighter doesn't seem quite right in that case, though maybe this is a heavier digital version. My (analog) 65mm craft using 0702s are usually around 19.5g without battery, percentagewise that is a huge difference. Forget digital, I'd say ultralight analog is the way to go with these things, extra weight is a disproportionate penalty.

What are the sizes of the track, something like 50cm? Is it available somewhere?

08:52 you can hear that vibrating pitch... You should lower your pid. I am not an expert, but I am pretty sure you can just lower master multiplier by a notch or two and eliminate that. Exactly what I did. It's simple, it works.
