Weight is absolutely critical on any quad, but never more so than on a 65mm sized craft. 1g really does make a significant difference. Not only that, one's needs for video when racing are completely different to freestyle. I don't do the latter, but I can quite understand that when flying through trees and other scenarios with unexpected obstacles like small branches etc, then pin sharp video is a definite bonus, but when racing that really doesn't matter. You know where the course goes, you know nothing unexpected is going to jump out and hit you, and what you are really trying to do is get broad spacial awareness of where you are in relation to the known course, and detail is basically irrelevant. That does not require ultra high resolution video, but on the other hand, low inertia and power to weight matters a lot. I would swap digital video for low inertia any day on everything I fly, and that is up to 250g. The only possible digital benefit I can envisage is frame update rate and latency, and so far I have never noticed analog being a disadvantage there, ie the latency is low enough that it is not an issue. The basic areas of difference are size, weight, cost, latency and resolution. In the first three analog is the clear winner, the fourth doesn't seem significant to me, and digital only wins on the fifth. So to me, and what/where I fly, it's analog by a mile - no brainer.

I like that youre using your hdzero goggles and not some old analog ones. I always see breakup when i watch whoop racing and your setup doesn’t have tons of electronic interference. Is that factor of the tune?

Analog is still the king for long range, and also where weight matters most, such as tiny whoops. Digital whoops have reached the point where they are good enough for pleasure flying around the house. But for serious competition, analog is still king.

Oooh, you know I just finished a tune and setup for the Mob 6 2024 for Quicksilver’s latest dev branch with its new Level mode code. It is CRAZY good. But maybe you should try in radio yaw into roll like Emuflights dual axis steering if you stay in Betaflight

It's not Digital vs Analog, it's so many differences between the drones and did you run the digital first on the course? Which means you had some practice before, no?

I thought turtle mode was generally not used on tinywhoops since the esc ceiling was so low. Compared to bigger quads, it's usually not a long walk to go get it.

Have you ever played a game with input lag more than 5ms? Yeah why would I race with anything more than that. Footage could be 4K what use is it if there’s a lag in my input. My fast twitch muscle memory can’t even build on anything above a certain ms. Input lag you’re flying on guess work🤮 give me the analogue any day of the week twice on Sundays.
