JBL needs to calm down with that 500 price tag, especially during these hard times. No need to upgrade from the original boombox that's still going strong with no signs of slowing down.
@@SupremeGang420 so bro dont buy it I really dont understand why people complain about price dont buy it then damn are you false to buy it during these times like huh ok so if we weren't in these times it would be a little ok but still too high in price. Get your money up or get what you can afford what's the problem, companies dont care about how you feel when it comes to price or even what a product should have they go according to trend basically what people are buying what sells if you dont like something but it sells they dont care if you feel it's too high in price it's someone else that doesn't simple if they thought how you all thought they wouldn't make it as a company. I'm pretty sure bro
I'm buying a Boombox 1 tomorrow as they're on sale in the UK atm. However, I do have a 1000W LG home cinema system that got me in trouble with a neighbour a few weeks ago by accident! Oops!
Hey flossy just bought the jaybird vistas and I am loving them so far. Will you make a video on your favorite bluetooth speakers of 2020? Any price range. Thank you for keeping me entertained during these times. Keep up the good work! 🔥🔥🔥
I returned them same day i bought them, horrible software and connectivity and the one size fits all ear tip is ridiculous, very disappointing, got jabra elite 65ts and love them
@@sterlinggray350 i disagree, the vistas didnt sound all that great, my jabras do sound great, but no earbuds compare to soundcore liberty 2 pros in sound quality, which i also happen to own
@@officialhyperman if you use indoor speaker, i HIGHLY recommend sony srs xb41, it has so much bass (under 60% volume which is pretty high) that my neighbours like it too fr
Flossy, love your unboxing and reviews man ! I'm in love with this speaker. BIG $ up here in Canada ! but wow, is it nice ! Thanks for another Flossylicious review ! ✅
@@h4brid992 Floss said it's not that much of a difference & for me to get another one ...I'm expecting A lot (Or enough that I feel like I'm getting more for my money)of differences.
I was scrolling through marketplace last night and came across an ad for the boombox 2 that someone had gotten for christmas(didnt know how much it cost) and they were selling it because they lived in an apartment building and had the cops called twice because of it but i managed to get it for $80 basically fresh out of the box, this thing is insane
Having owned the Boombox "1" and now the Boombox 2, I can say that the Boombox 2 is slightly louder (10W per channel with or without AC power=30W x 2 battery operated and 40W x 2 AC) versus 20W x 2 battery and 30W x 2 AC for the original Boombox. The highs are slightly more refined and the bass is NOTICEABLY more impactful. Not muddy at all but can be overpowering if you're listening to bass heavy tracks (bass boosted). The little touches to the case and the passive radiators are nice and add flare to the unit. Is what I mentioned here worth $100? I have to agree that it might be stretching it. Even though I purchased one. I agree with Flossy that $450 would have been a good place to stop. And regarding the IPX7 rating, that applies to both units. They are both "waterproof" as nothing has changed there.
@@boofa1993 I have a friend who is struggling so I gave him my Boombox 1. I personally do not regret purchasing the Boombox 2 as it has improved in some ways. Including the sound. If you have a Boombox 1 then I would wait until the price came down on the 2 if you're interested in it.
There's no way I get bored in a Floss video! His content is organic and honest, doesn't need crazy expensive production. Can we get a few seconds of "Double Up" by Nipsey Hussle the next time you test a Bluetooth speaker? #Salute. Hope you and your daughter are ok, bro.
@@ArnoldGaming well the key here is portability, you can't just put your sound system in a car and play it wherever you want for 24 hours. Hella expensive obviously but for people that won't care it's an amazing choice, im not considering to buy it anytime soon tho, wish i could just drop 500 for a speaker lol
Floss you are the boss of tech stuff.. I can't describe how much I'd love to see yuor station/office/studio. And have a duby tougher.. Cheers bro, from Australia Perth
if the boombox is IPX7 that means that it is able to be submerged in water 1m deep for 30mins as are most other new jbl speakers like the extreme 2. IPX4 is the rating that is for low water resistance and splashes.
Good review I'm glad I bought the boombox 1 edition especially no much different on sound and can get the original boombox cheaper, and the 2 has 10,000mah battery and the 1st edition has 20,000mah
idk which boombox to buy.., it seems like that the boombox 2 has a party boost connect button while the boombox 1 has the sterio button to connect with. i just dont understand why you can not connect any jbl speaker with any other jbl speaker. you can only connect the sterios jbl's together, and you can only connect the party boost jbl's together. like the jbl flip 5 can not connect with the flip 4 because it uses sterio instead of party boost like the jbl flip 5. its going to be the same sinereo with the boombox1 and the boombox2.
You're my go-to guy for all the reviews. But the price just kills me😭. Yeah, I bring in more staying home these days but the price, COME ON JBL!!! Can they do a pandemic special or something? I don't know I'm just saying. LOL
Hey Flossy, JBL Boombox 2 vs UE Hyperboom? Which one would you prefer? I want something with better bass and outdoor activities (sand volleyball, pool party, etc.)
Had to click on this thumbnail, especially when I saw that it entailed the JBL brand. What made it more worthwhile is that when viewing the vid, I was listening w/my JBL Free X bluetooth earbuds. One word: ethereal. Ihdk about the $500 tag, but hey, it is what it is: a truly exceptional speaker nonetheless.
The whole reason why I bought the original Boombox was because I can put it in the pool. I was looking forward to this refresh but now it’s “Splash Resistant”. I’m not mad just disappointed...
I ordered my 1st Boombox 2 two months ago. I use it in my Polaris UTV. I wasn't ready to build an actual permanent sound system. I just wanted something that is temporary and sounds good. I can hear this speaker while we ride and can hear it over the engine. That's a major plus. I like it so much, that I just ordered a 2nd unit. I play it at full volume. It last between 6 to 7 hours. To remedy this, I installed a 12v cigarette lighter adapter in the rear cargo area and plugged a power inverter into it. I can run the speaker all day/night now. Plus we can pull the speaker out and take it into the hotels or cabins with us. I can't wait to see how 2 of them sound.
@@cleodnine9364 it is insanely loud with a 2nd unit. I ended up purchasing a 2nd unit and playing then both on my off-roading vehicle. It sounded great. Unfortunately the vehicle and speakers were stolen. I like them so much that I purchased 2 more again. If you space them about 12ft apart, they resonate very well. Super loud with tons of bass, inside or outside. 👍
I’ve had my boombox original 1 since late 2017...I had 2 jbl Xtream original mk 1s and the battery’s failed in a short time so I got on the phone to jbl Harmon kardon and they sent me a boombox for a discount price I think I paid around £160 for it never had a problem with it either..I’m always on my pedal bike in London with it and get many sexy girls dancin and get to chat some up...I’m a gadget person either way so I brought the xtreme 2 and the charge 3 and x2 army style green flip 4s and I have the little jbl go 2..but they just stay in my apartment and don’t get used much at all..they actually are still in their boxes 90% of the time..but the boombox the boombox comes out with me almost everyday I’m not at work...and I love it...
Hey Floss, love the videos. Try Mannheim Steamroller - Fresh Air III (first track "Toccata") for speaker tests. It will blow your mind! I took the cd to a high end stereo store and with the owner's permission we cranked it up on the biggest most expensive 800 series Nautilis speakers they had. The guys there were blown away. You're welcome and enjoy!!! Love to hear what you think.
Great review. I've got a bunch of PA/studio speakers and gear but pulled the plug on a JBL Charge 4 for something I could carry in and out of the house without breaking my back and not too loud for conversation. Absolutely love it. Sounds better than the UE equivalent. Love how they went with mono sounds, makes for a better balanced sound. Goes all day and then some too... on one charge. JBL know their customers. Cheers from New Zealand.
This is why I love your channel and content, you always stay real and honest; giving us a professional, true assessment of a product, with an entertaining flare.
These things are beast, my coworkers used to bring theirs(2) and they would connect them and they would sound loud and clear!!! Especially when we would be inside the 53' trailers here at UPS!
2 things I would hate to be: 1. Flossy's neighbor during these speaker testings 2. Flossy's wallet when he has to pay his electric bill with all his gadgets
How does it compare to the UE Hyperboom? Would you recommend the hyperboom or the boombox? Birthday just passed and because of quarantine I havem't had the chance to experience either for myself.
Just found out “Partyboost” connection doesn’t work with aux input “3.5mm”. You are limited to using just one speaker. So the 4 “Boombox 2” I just purchased to work with a projector during camping isn’t going to work.
The one thing I would add: The demonstration of sound is only as good as whatever external or internal sounds/speakers you already possess, but it is extraordinary sound by any means with the capability to test it ... Another aspect is if you live in the country and you want to fill the air with beautiful music, this version fits the bill for clarity, and quite frankly, the price. They never die, I even have the older versions before the digital age.
I wish he would put these jbls into low frequency mode when he reviewed them, I know I’m a year late but it would make the review a lot better for us bass heads
hey buddy thanks for the amazing video if it's possible for you please check out the "HONOR 20 Pro" I wanna buy it but it's kinda hard without ur opinion and real reviews thank you very much
Aye Floss! Love the content man, and thanks for giving us great content in times like this- hope you and your family are safe. I just checked the JBL website because I was surprised the JBL Boombox 2 isn't waterproof where the OG Boombox is, and I found the Boombox 2 IS waterproof: IPX7, up to 3 feet. (Just so people aren't confused) ****edit: Just saw your correction in the description. My bad!*
Those 2 speakers together sound mental, I love that, I have got the extreme 3 and just bought the boombox 2 today so looking forward to that, you shouting in the back ground shows just how loud these are, loud but with no distortion, wow, wow, wow. cleaner base on mk 2
