JBL Charge 4 Review - The iPhone XS Of Speakers 

I will only buy JBL speakers due to their customer service they have. My speaker battery had gone to shit and I called them and to see about replacing battery and expecting to pay since my warranty was expired about 6 months ago. I thought they were gonna give the, “the not our problem now” brush off but instead they quickly offered to send me a new one as long as I send back mine!!! They paid for return label and all. It was so refreshing to have a company that does right and go beyond what is obligated of them. Great speaker and customer service and company.

I think the charge 4 has more clear audio, with deeper bass, and great battery life. I also like the look of the radiators. Great speaker! I recommend it!

I bought this impulsively when I was on the road in Vermont last year, which is not how I like to buy things, but I am very impressed. Great power for it's size, as well as how long the battery charge lasts. I have two sets of GTO 629's installed in my car, so I kind of expected it to be a worthwhile purchase, but I'm still impressed. Honestly, the last portable speaker I owned was bought from a department store for my Discman when I was a kid, so it's come along way. Lol

Charge 4 for me just for its 3.5mm and USB C jack.

Im so glad jbl decided to include an aux jack because I still use an ipod classic and i also use mu speakers as a monitor for electric bass.

I've been on the fence about picking up a charge 4 or charge 3. Everybody says it's about the same in sound quality. Some say the 4 has more bass some say the 3 has more bass. The fact speakerphone is gone pushed me towards a 3 but it's old. Why not get the newest and does it matter if its mono as long as it sounds better. I went for the charge 4. Compared it to my friend who opted for the charge 3. The 4 is better. Its brighter and bassier. Don't know how they did it but it actually sounds like stereo more than the charge 3 and the bass is more prevalent. So for $20 more you lose speaker phone but get better sound.

The bass feature is undeniably appreciated but the treble is more distinct in charge 3.

I have a fake charge 2+ which I plugged into the pc and made the sound clear + the bass higher... its awesome for $20

*Purchased a black JBL Charge 3.* Let me know if I made a mistake. Friend has a Charge 3, love the bass and the lack of distortion at very high volumes, overall in love with the speaker. Heard about the Charge 4 and decided to look it up, and the fact that it has a mono system instead of stereo is a major turn-off for me, as well as the lack of ability to put the speakers in left-right orientation.

What about the Charge 4 vs the UE BOOM 3 ?

By chance I came across the JBL Charge Essential today, which was on sale at my local superstore for €98 (JBL's current fantasy-MSRP is €179 IIRC). After I listened to it (and compared it to a spec-monster, house-brand model for €50), I decided the JBL was probably as good as it was going to get in the bang-for-buck department, so I bought it. From what I understand it's a tweaked Charge 3 sold under the "Essential" label. It lacks the hands-free- and Connect-options, but other than that, all the features and specs are the same as with the Charge 3. AUX-In, 6000mAh battery, battery-pack-function and IPX7. It doesn't have USB-C and only runs BT4.1 ... but I still think it's a pretty good deal at the price I paid.

The type c charging is the only real upgrade it seems. The bass on the charge 3 seems more than fine on its own, and the only reason the type c charging should be a plus would be the need to carry one less charging cord for Android users. As a charge 3 owner, it is a solid speaker and dosent seem like an update is needed.

Dude you should totally review alter Lansing speakers you won’t be disappointed! I have 3 and love them all but need to get a new one and sell some others lol.

Why the comparison with iPhone? The Charge 4 has USB-C & is constantly on sale (can be bought for 88 euro in Germany).

Just got a charge 4. Over the charge 3 the sound quality is better by a good margin. Loudness is the same. Being mono hasn’t negatively affected it at all. Both however gets really loud for the size and doesn’t distort.

Here in the philippines they already have charge 5 😂🤣 one time use if you submerge it in water 😂😂😂🤣🤣

I wanna give you little advice as an improvement of your videos. Find better place where you present devices or make your room better, i mean give it more light and put something in background, may try to change point of view. Bcs way you present is perfect and how you compare devices. Just could be cleaner. Im sure ppl would appreciate it :)

Wow. I think its a big deal that they didnt include the charger. JBLcharger charge the battery 3 times faster than normal chargers. So a bigger battery without that charger will take forever to charge.

With the charge 4 just hold down the Bluetooth button and the volume down button to unleash low-frequency mode

i have both, they both sound really good, the 4 so far to me a little more detailed sounds crisper highs, the 3 has better midrange, but i used an equalizer and crank up my midrange on the 4, i think the 4 is a little better sound, got mine at walmart for 124 dollars today

Charge 3 and Charge 4 won't play in stereo mode because obviously Charge 4 has only 1 speaker inside unlike Charge 3.

Is it okay for the battery if the speaker is plugged to the power and used always? Maybe using an AUX cable to further reduce the stress on the battery. Use case will be for PC audio.
