I have viewers telling me all the time, that the firmware 4.0 does not sound as good as firmware 3.2 Now you can compare for yourself! Let me know in the comments what you think, is it true? Which one sounds better, or are they the same? Listen! Headphones are helpful in this case.
Keep in mind, that once you update, you can't go back. Downgrade is not supported for the end-user.

4.0 sounds better balanced. 3.2 have some unpleasant pipe effect, like if frequency range was less.

how to go back on 3.2? i updated it in 4.0 but the bass get in to trouble its sounds crack when i put it in 50 to 70% volume

you cannot go back without the help of jbl support. cracking sound often is caused by old weak batteries, and often times a new battery helps the problem. Maybe version 4 has a stronger bass, and the old battery cannot handle it?

so what do you suggest ? i honestly can’t see much difference but also i was listening on the phone or speakers not headphones . i am slightly annoyed by 3.2 but i can’t tell if it’s maybe due to recordings ets not speaker itself as i listen to a lot of yt videos, i trust someone more experienced in this matter haha , this looks like a big jump 3.2-4 like it haven’t been updated in ages which is the case in mine obviously :D

If you like it as it is then don't update, because once you update you can't go back. And Flip4 is old now, that means out of warranty, if something goes sideways during the update you're on your own. Maybe leave it on the old firmware.

@@mygiguser hmm i wouldnt be asking about it if i were completely happy with it tbh.. im just wondering if that would/ could help or because its such an old model actually do more unfixable harm :/ i get that it’s for test purpose but have you updated or would you update yours or just stay as it is to be safe ?

Version 4 sounds like surround compare to 3.2, version 4 also have better sound stage

My is AN version and is ok. Good bass. I sell after this update Tronsmart element t6 25W, and i keep FLIP 4. Working great.

4.0 caused erratic battery reading. Like I charge it full. It takes like 2 hours (charger is 5v 1.5 amp). Then I listen to songs for an hour and the battery goes to one point (red) and goes off. If I power up, it the battery shows 3 points again in an hour it goes to one point (red) and goes off. The cycle repeats and remember I'm not charging just restarting flip 4.

i think your battery is weak. replace the battery and it'll work again. you can't downgrade!

Is good, in first audition seems to be less bass, but after restart and activation bass boost mode is good. I recommend update. My version is AN, no TL, CS.
