Military veterans who achieved a rank higher than specialist shouldn't be allowed to be a street cop. They get used to giving orders and those orders being followed without question. That is inconsistent with policing in a free society.

It’s only exigent if the suspect was in hot pursuit. This guy was in his home when the officer arrived. Their was no arrest warrant or search warrant. He needed to come with a warrant if he had his “probable cause.” They might have investigated themselves and found no wrong doing, like they always do, but this will not fly in a federal lawsuit. They *ucked up. This was an unlawful search. I would sue tf out that cop in civil court and federal. What did this cop think was gonna happen when you break into a persons castle. They have the right to protect themselves from any armed person brandishing a weapon. Try breaking a cops door down and see how they react. It’s no difference. They had no warrant to enter that man’s house.
You’re right dude. The use of force was justified. HOWEVER, exigent circumstances was created after the fact by their prosecutor and therefor was cleared of wrong doing by making entry. The lawyer response team will NEVER be on the side of the people. It’s sad, but true.

Pretty sure they would still need a warrant. That's why they try to get someone to step outside first on the porch etc ("hay can you step out so we can talk") if they don't have one. To arrest someone inside the home they need a warrant.
