I'm a GTR fan boy, but god damn that Spirit R is sexy Af...

It's 2018 and only a few cars comes close to the attractive body design styling of an FD3S RX-7.

The Spirit R is the best car ever made. I've seen a lot of FDs but I've never had the fortune of seeing the Spirit R in person, much less driving one but I know all about it's unicorn status. I used to daily drive an FC for a few years and became obsessed with how the rotary produces peak power so high in it's RPM range. Once you go rotary, you become rotarded

The production quality on this is absolutely insane!!

I am convinced this was the best era of cars, these two in particular. Nobody is making cars that you look at and instantly say "Hnngg ohh yeah" because they just look so damn good, sound so damn good, had these legend motors, and the performance and handling to back all that up. RIP 1990s, you will be forever missed.

I didn't realize how small the RX7 is compared to a R34 GTR.

My favourite video I've watched this month. I'm not quite sure how they've managed to get the very best limited editions of these legendary cars... I don't care if Mclaren 720s, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Ferrari 488, 2018 Honda NSX, 2018 Nismo GT-R are way faster than these on straights and bends. None of them will EVER match the sheer driving pleasure that the FD3S Spirit R and R34 Vspec ii Nur have to offer.

Bought my R34 GT-T from Torque GT, can absolutely recommend them. 3 years of ownership and it has never shown any rust or problems, sorted car.

Great video with a good look at two legendary cars. The RX-7 (in this configuration) is a body style that could still be sold today. It just looks so good. The R34... Well, it is gorgeous but for very different reasons. That front end is simply monstrous!

The spirt r is one great car. Love seeing them at cadwell park with an RE Amemiya body kit tearing through the corners. Also with the r34's flat out on the straights. Never seen a nur though but they are rare so no surprise.

they won't make another RX-7 because they simply can't. they don't have a bussiness case for it, which means they basically can't payback the cost of building, designing, ETC of the car (they can't sell enough)

I like rx7 because of its re amemiya body kit and its rotary engine

People in general are afraid of any car with a rotary due to the bad rep they've gotten about being "unreliable". In reality that "unreliable" isn't a label for the engine, but moreso owners. A rotary won't take shit from you, unlike piston engines, so if you keep fucking up the rotary will tell you to fuck off and blow apex seals, much faster than pistons go out. Bought a 1989 RX-7 FC turbo II S5 this summer. It has no records of being rebuilt or fixed in a workshop, and is closing in on 110K kilometers. The seller did have the latest oil change papers and some emissions based papers (that the road services here thankfully ignored, dodging a huge registration fee bullet). This was a dealship BTW. It's most likely true that the car hasn't seen a professional mechanic in almost 30 years, and it's still running fine.

Only has 10k subs but puts out as good of quality videos as any million sub car RU-vid channel I've seen. Really good stuff her guys, keep it up.

Torque GT imported my RX7 type r Bathurst R for me a little over 4 years ago. A fantastic car that puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel.

Excellent video! This is some Top Gear level photography and editing man! Subbed. My vote is the nur - just always was more special to me since we’ve never had any skylines pre-r35 here in the US.

Nissan should stop producing the R35 and go back to making the R34. Of course making it more modern and matching today standards, still with RB26.

i've owned both. you can get the similar feel of the R34- GTR from most cars on the market today, such as an audi RS3 or the current GTR but the rx7 has a driving feel that is unmatched and can't be replicated. it truly is something special. i held on to my FD Rx7 and o not regret it.

Still 2 of the best sports cars EVER made. Both looks, and performance.

Great video of two of my favourite cars

This is a video that makes me aware how lucky I am and also how many of you will probably judge me. I used to own a 1st gen back in 1992 just as the FD was launched. Always dreamed of owning one. Eventually bought a 1992 FD touring version in 2008. Had it for a couple of years and let it go (sold it for £3k ouch!). In 2015 I imported a 2002 Bathurst R. A lovely unadulterated car that I only use very fleetingly and now keep in a temp controlled garage. Last year I was scanning auto trader for general pricing and I saw a Spirit R for sale. In a moment of impulse I made a call and bought it. Been sat in my garage alongside the Bathurst. The problem is that to drive the Bathurst I have to have the seat very declined (I am 6’ 5 and a bad back). The Spirt R has fixed recaro seats which make it virtually impossible for me to drive with and comfort. Apart from driving it into the garage I have not yet taken it out for a spin. Looks great though.
