I have to say, Jeanne has a gift of story-telling that surpasses anyone else I have ever heard in all my 72 years on this earth!!! God Bless her and LB and Beaver...and all her Best friends...and yes, her Bestest friend too!!! I feel as if I know them all! Thank you so much, Jeanne...for all the laughter, especially at times when I needed it most.
I LOVE Garth Brooks!!!! I have since I was a small child and I'm currently less than 2 weeks away from 38 years of age. My dad purchased me a ticket to a Garth concert a few years ago for my Birthday!!! He was doing a show in my State of Sweet home Alabama. I was SO excited!!! Thank you for sharing!!! I found you today and I've watched about 20 videos! You my dear, are wonderful, lovely, and talented!
I only just recently learned of this woman. I have no idea how I managed to miss her humor. She is without a doubt a humorist of the best kind, she has a southern Mark Twain, story telling style that is like having dinner with one of the funniest people you know. Its like she is sitting on the other side of the dinner table and weaves a wonderful tale. Well done.
Actually a famous comedian still doesnt...know Barry Humphries as DAME EDNA EVERAGE? He is so intelligent and witty he doesnt need to be crass and vulgar.
Mrs Robertson you are so delightfully funny. No curse words. You have a real talent for telling stories. Thank you for making me laugh again. Love you!😍🥰😍🥰
Jeanne Robertson and Chona Pierce are two best comics of our time. Some of these others who think they have to insert vulgarity and swear words really should study them and take note at the audience's reaction to both of these wonderful ladies...AWESOME 👍❤
She's just a great lady, I love to listen her talking about all the sweet stories, to bad I dont have enough airline millages to go see her on stage from France 😂
Jeanne, you brighten my day! I watch these clips everyday! First, I laugh, then I stop & try to remember to find the humor in my everyday trials! Thank you!
She shows you can be funny without using profanity or vulgarity. Why can other comics see this? Would love to see her in person. She is a delight!!!!!!
I agree seeing her in person is great, but I found I missed a lot, because of laughing so hard and not having the ability to pause it, so could catch your breath and to be able to rewind to hear what you have missed.
Doesn't get any better than Jeanne Roberson....my taaaaaaaaaall speaking friend. And as we both know, our spouses realistically give us some of the best material! I am so honored to know you and witness your journey of deserved success.
When Jeanne said, "when you right-brained, you hear order and think about food," I could not contain my laughter. That resonates so well and my love is left-brained. When she discusses Jerry, I think of him and I think about my dad.
This one is a classic! I'm rewatching all her videos after finding out about her passing just last week. What a wonderful storyteller and comedian. You'll be missed 💗
I actually got to meet Nat King Cole when I was a kid. I really didn't know who he was, but I went and talked to him. I published the story years ago. It's too long to try to retype here, and the computer I had it in bit the dust, so I don't have it any more. here's the short version How did I meet him? He was in my hometown of Canon City Colorado filming his parts of the last movie he was in, Cat Ballou. I think it featured a very young Jane Fonda, if I remember right. Anyway he happened to be in a restaurant when we stopped in. Not a fancy restaurant like you'd think, just a place called the Highway Cafe How I got the nerve to talk to him I don't know. I was probably 8 or maybe 10 years old, but I didn't know he was famous. He was a black man in a town that didn't have any I believe I thought he was a coal miner that didn't wash up before putting on a suit.... so I went to ask him about it. I do remember the lesson he taught me "Son, do you know man was made from dirt?" "That's what the Sunday School teacher said, but I don't see how that can be." "Well that's the way of it. Now there are five colors of dirt. You know about dirt don't you , I take it you're a farm boy?" "Yessir I know about dirt, least ways Granny says I bring in more dirt than an oxcart, whatever that is." He chuckled and began again. "Well there are five colors of dirt, so there are five colors of people. You know there's black dirt, brown dirt, red dirt. yellow dirt and white dirt." "I doan reckon I've seen white dirt. does sand count?" He chuckled his melodic laugh, "Yes that counts. anyway since there are five colors of dirt, there are five colors of people, or some mix of them You've seen red men, haven't you? "Sure Granny says they're Injuns" You've seen brown men too, right" "You mean like Granny's Messican friends?" Yeah, that's one variety. So you see there are also some black men, or some mix of black and the other colors." "I see, but we doan see no black men round here lessin they work in the mines. They is only black til they wash up." "Well you knew there were black people didn't you?" "Yeah, daddy said so, but I just ain't never seen none up close before. I have seen some on the TV, but I don't get to watch it much." "In some places, white people are as scarce as black men are here, but just remember son, we all came from dirt, we're all the same, the color of our skin doesn't mean a thing." "Yessir" At this point I felt Granny's glare on the back of my neck. "I best get back, no need in gettin a worse whippin for bothering you." I go back to the table and my cheeseburger is waiting Granny started to say something, for once my dad stood up to her, "Leave him alone ma, do you know who that is? That's Nat King Cole, he's famous. The kid's got guts just going up and talking to him like that." Granny shut up and glared at him instead of me. I kept quiet as a ate my burger and fries. I didn't want her to come back to me, I was hopin she'd forget all about it. It wasn't until many years later I really got to know who Mr. Cole was, and that he died shortly after I met him I also didn't learn until I was a grown man that my very bigoted grandmother was part black, bu had passed for white for a long time, and wanted to keep it that way.
What am amazing experience, how blessed you are, it's so apparent the impact it had in your life, you sound like an amazing person yourself, thank you so much for sharing, I agree with the other individual about you publishing this, perhaps write to Readers Digest or Soup for the Soul series but please do share with the world such a beautiful story.
@@Melanes07 It was published, a long time ago tho I don't remember where, it was the full version, detailing how I was a young farm boy and that was our treat for a good crop... we didn't eat out often. It was only one of two times I saw my dad stick up for me with my grandmother. It's really a much longer story but I cut to the important part.
Jeanne, you certainly have the gift of storytelling! Home sick today, but the gift of laughter from your comedy gigs have changed my day for the good. Left brain, right brain situation in my life is reversed. Love that opposites attract, but can be annoying in a humorous way. Keep up the genius hilarity of everyday life.
I love Jeanne! She is superb. she makes me laugh so hard. her stories are down to earth and you sure can relate, or else from a different planet. keep going girl.
Another great story - and I had Garth's station #55 programmed on my Sirius car radio the day he started broadcasting. God bless America, you, and Garth Brooks. (Proud to be an alumni of Oklahoma State Univ., as is Garth.)
Jeanne, I had the privilege to see you in person once. You are my favorite! I have three of your videos and when I need a "pick me up", I choose one to watch. Thank you!!!
Crazy, gracious woman! I worked 24 + years as a carpenter, climbing up ladders, on my knees working floors; but, I compliment this woman for standing so long, doing so many shows, standing in those high heel shoes!!!! ( I wish you never had fallen and hurt yourself, Ms. Robertson).
I just stumbled upon your humor on fb, and had to check you out on RU-vid. I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud so many times. What a treasure I've found!
Jeanne is a breath of fresh air!! She is so funny and it is quite refreshing to know that she does not use foul language in the stories she tells. She is totally amusing and keeps me laughing every time I listen to one of her stories.
This woman has such a wonderful gift for storytelling and making us laugh. I am so glad jpeople can records things and put them up on the internet to watch, if not for this, I would never have discovered such a precious treasure!!!
Reminds me of my big vaca before I went to college. I drove West till I hit the Pacific Ocean and I turned RIGHT. A few days later I ended up in SF at the Wharf. Best vaca I ever had!! I miss Jeanne...
Cannot wait until Nov. 12th at the King Center in Melbourne, Fl. My hubby purchased our tickets back before July 27 for out 53rd wedding anniversary. He said that almost all the close up tickets were gone already. So excited about getting there anyhow..
Friday April 29, 2022.-----I use to have a cd of some songs by Garth Brooks, the cd was first to my dad who asked for the cd for Christmas and after he passed away on Friday April 27, 2007 I kept the cd for myself, I think it was taken by mistake by somebody without my knowledge of, until I saw that the cd and some other cds were gone, kind of stolen from me and taken to an auction in Kentucky in December 2014.-----My mom much enjoyed the music/singing of Nat King Cole, my mom passed away less than 8 months after my dad, they had very close to 56 years of marriage.-----I believe my parents would've enjoyed this video.
I have to laugh bc I am right brained but when you said that about right brain people and the word order and waiting on food, that is absolutely hilarious!
