Yeah couldn’t agree more! I looked at the Gladiator after optioned the way I wanted it was $74k, I would never never pay $74 for a Jeep! $50k IMO is more what it should be priced at. Ended buying a Q7 for that money, JEEPs are now going for luxury SUV prices
You could get in 2016 a brand new 4x4 patriot sport advertised for 17 000$ - - > 20k$ out the door including taxes and other fees. In 2020, you could get a brand new Dodge grand caravan SE advertised at 19 999 $CAD - - > 24k out the door counting taxes out the door. Both offered a 5 years, 0% financing.
Ya and the compass is a Mexican built vehicle with an Italian engine and a KOREAN transmission…now no hate to Mexican built things, but I don’t think quality is one of their strong elements considering you can pay someone $25 A DAY.
It's a going out of business model. How can any one afford that super duper over price vehicles. Hey I wouldn't even consider ever buying a Mercedes, Audi, BMW. I buy a Honda, Toyota, or even a Nissan!!!
I won’t go that far but they are certainly not worth what they are asking. Anyone who pays over $50k for a Wrangler of any kind needs psychiatric help.
@@Mark-bu2ib That’s what I thought too. ???? Isn’t the Wrangler one of their most popular? He did rag on the high prices; I remember when the Wrangler pickup came out and was astounded at the $54k sticker.
@@jrig92 The cars only one item out of hundred thousands that doubled and tripled in price. In 2015 our house was 900K and now, in 2024 the neighbors asking for similar theirs 1.9M
They raised the prices by 60 plus percent for the last few years. Let choke on their inventory, most of us will buy directly from Amazon later this year.
Sorry bud. A base price use to be 31000 and this was back in 2017 to 2018. Top of the line use to be 38k to 40k. That’s why it sucks to see what they done to the brand
@@grege1972nobody is buying because their 2020 socialist money ran out, high interest rates, and dealers adding mark ups. Plus all manufacturers increased the msrp on trucks
I had a jeep grand Cherokee as a rental for 2 weeks. It was a hybrid and fully loaded. After driving it for 2 weeks anyone who pays more than 40k for it is getting ripped off.
i like how cutting price is the only answer and the only thing they wont try to fix it. ive got a dealer in my town who takes TWO dollars off their price every couple weeks. like the cars have been there since August dude, the tires are rotting at a higher rate than the discounts roll in.
Could be a way for them to know how long they had the car on the lot. I know a store that works like that so salemans know if they need to move the product or if they can stay hard on the price.
WOW, just seeing how dirt laden those vehicles are, they are the Stellantis symbol of lot rot. The brands are doomed. The Stealership deserves to not have their name blurred out. Everyone should see who they are. Cheers.
It's ALL brands. Visited two GM stealerships last week. I was hoping to find a Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon that was under $40K. NOPE. They START at $45K and soar to an obscene $81K. How the hell can a "light pickup" cost $81K??? I snorted and walked off the lot. They can sit on those for all I care. In the last year, I have seen a grand total of two of these trucks on the roads. Nope, nobody is going to pay $50K for a stinking pickup. Heck, the back seat is stiff as wood and very uncomfortable.
@adamsteele6148 That is totally wrong. Overpriced? Yes! Junk? No way it hell are they junk -- they are solid cars -- owned a Jeep GC (5 of them since like 1986) -- never had a big problem.
And to think I purchased my 2010 Jeep Patriot North Edition out the door for $24,000. I factory ordered it because I wanted it with a 5 speed manual and I still drive it today and it’s still going strong. I haven’t had car payments for over 10 years!!! I just don’t know how people can afford a new car at today’s prices. Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram deserve to go out of business!!!!
Some people are progressing and make good money to afford whatever sold around. Do you complain about other overpriced and nice to have things in the life? 14 years ago you've got Jeep's bottom line offer, why to complain about inability to get nowadays worthy vehicle?
The banks will just move money and debt around ... Maybe come up with a reverse repo flea flicker pitch back student body right program to clean things up, and transfer the losses to the public. It's Banking 101.
Prices for jeeps are going up and up. I just don’t see how they would do that if they would lose money. Maybe they know something we don’t, wish we had insider info on why they are doing this
This attitude of Stellantis reminds me of the 505 wagon in 1989. Dealers and fans were screaming for a V6 and they said nope. The sedan had the V6 but for the wagon? We were told the 4 was good enough. It wasn't long before they withdrew from the US market. Nothing has changed with the European arrogance. All the many brands that make up Stellantis, none did well in the US. Citroen, Peugeot, Alfa, Fiat... all losers. But just because they ganged up they think this time will end differently?
Yep, those are all oddball, weird, dorky cars with the clientele to match. 😜😛😀... Don't misunderstand me, I actually owned 2 brand new SAABS, a 1995 9000 CDE, and a 1995 900 Turbo SE Convertible, and a new 1994 Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe. Better than the other brands you mentioned, but still not considered mainstream. 🐾🐶🐕
Okay, I'll admit it. I paid $56K out the door during peak Covid times - for the most expensive option at the time (no, not the V8). While it was TOO much, we love it. It does so many things - it's actually wonderful in town, great for driving on the beach, can really go off-road, gets 22-23 mpg average, and it's a convertible - even removed the doors a few times and it's a blast. Yes, not wonderful for cross-country driving but they're wildly popular where I live and for good reason. Yes, they are still too much money. Also, 3 years in and not a single issue. Not one. Sure, that's not a long-term trial but better than most.
I'm pissed too at the prices but saying you wouldn't pay $20,000 for a Wrangler is stupid. 20k would barely get you a side by side. And a top of the line Polaris will set you back $40,000.
You missed one misnomer on Stellantis' part. They keep investing all their R&D in the expensive vehicles and NOT the cheap ones. Instead they dress up older Compasses and try and sell them for $40,000+ instead of making them cheaper and more attractive.
What, are you trying to insinuate that putting a hard roof and three row seating into a Ram 1500 and calling it a Wagoneer and saying it's worth $120 Grand with a little 3L turbo 6 cylinder isn't innovative?
they used to share a platform with the Dodge Caliber. the compass and patriot are the cheap models. Now they're selling the Compass for the price of a grand cherokee
Stellantis has raised the prices over 30% in four years… I refuse to buy one of their vehicles, after being a loyal customer for 25 years. I’ve already moved onto a different manufacture… they’re going the wrong direction on price and style
Here in Australia,Jeep sales have been declining sharply since they screwed their customers with overpriced parts over the counter without lubricants for years.
You don't even know the half of it. Peugeot, the initiator of Stellantis was investigated by the European Union for price gouging on parts. There is method to this madness. Chrysler will get dropped in no time when they don't contribute enough and most likely yet again go bankrupt for what, the 4th time? And this time it might be the final nail in the coffin. As for their products being upmarket, I had to recover from a laughing fit, Tavares (Stellantis CEO) can keep dreaming that these clunkers will ever be higher than bottom bargain bin quality. Both Peugeot and Fiat are trouble brands according to European statistics, mashing them together doesn't improve anything.
Spot on analysis. Jeep/Dodge went upmarket in pricing when their quality remained mediocre and the alternatives were better priced, higher quality and/or more luxurious. Some poor strategic planning going on. And now they have the UAW BS contract around their necks. They could stop production for a year to sell off dealer inventory and then move production to Mexico for less costs and a more commited work force.
Been saying this for the past 2 years in other channels. Here is what I’m gonna say “ the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire………we don’t need no water, let the mother Effer BURN!!”. MSRP needs to drop roughly $5-$10k from stellantis. Dealer incentives are stupid.
that is still not even close to being reasonable....prices need o drop 20-30k MSRP! But that will never happen because ppl have stupid....and demand SOOO MUCH FANCY CRAP in modern vehicles now days that drives up the price to the state were currently in....you think its cheap to slam that 10" dual touchscreen in the new rams? or all that stupid fancy lexury crap that no one really needs then complain why there vehicles cost 100k
The Wrangler price has increased avg 48.6% from 2018-2023. A pathetic 10% off MSRP factory discount doesn't cut it. My 2017 Wrangler JKU was $33,617. To get the same options/configuration in a 2024 Wrangler JLU would cost me $59,300. lol. Big hard PASS.
None of these Jeeps were inspected before they left the factory. If you walk and look at each Jeep you will find flaws that never should have left the factory. They called me at night 9pm. The next morning I was furious. The leather dashboard was all bunched up where the headsup display frame fits over the leather. It could not be fixed a new dashboard had to be installed. They suck!! screws all over the floor and under the seats? Luckly I have no squeaks or issues. The entire industry needs to fail.
Quality control doesn't really exist at any car factories. The only standard out the door is that it runs. The rest is warranty work at the dealer. Actual company spokesperson I saw on TV some years ago.
Msrp on jeep has gone up by over 50% since 2019, seems they should cut prices by half to me. And yes I'm aware they'll never do that but it does highlight how much these little 5 to 10% off they're pushing now is a joke. They want Lexus prices for fix it again Tony quality and no ones biting.
What ever happened to freedom of choice? Incase you didn’t know In The US we have an open market the folks will dictate if these businesses will survive or fail… so be thankful we still live in a place that if you don’t like it you don’t have to buy it…
We drove grand cherokees for over 20 years. When we could no longer get a V8 grand for under 60 thousand, we walked away. We now have a sedan and are happy with our choice. I will not pay $60 grand for a vehicle. I want to retire someday. The vehicle industry quit selling us on total cost years ago and started selling us on payments. "What payment are you wanting?" They will finance you for a decade if you are willing. The cost of lost buying power and earning compound interest for yourself will keep you broke forever.
We bought our 2008 grand Cherokee 4x4 trailer hitch, moon roof, leather heated seats a year old used for $21,000 back in 2009. It has now 75,000 miles on it. Only had to change the radiator because the tank separated and last summer the passenger side wheel bearing. And that’s it. We have no plans on trading or selling it. New ones are twice the price with no options. What are they thinking!
I just looked at Jeep Wrangler prices at my local CDJR dealer and couldn't believe what they are asking for them. The most expensive was a Rubicon 392 with a MSRP of $100,025, and they had a massive discount of $500 with another $1000 Jeep cash back. I heard people are lined up around the block for a chance to buy it.
The CHEROKEE is discontinued. My local dealership, Crown Chrysler/Jeep/RAM/Dodge has no Cherokee's, 300s, Hornets, and Pacifica's. They are a big dealership, that has been around for fifty years in Ventura, California. My recently purchased 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit (Hemi) is flawless, with no complaints about quality.
@jamesmyers9285 That is also my experience EXACTLY! All the clowns on this string saying Jeeps are junk are either ignorant or just haters. Jeeps ARE overpriced now but they are solid cars - owned 6 Jeep GCs over the last 38 years none of them let me down.
"We thought after years of shafting the customers they would continue to bend over, who could have seen that they would get fed up of our gouging scams?"
Im starting to 24’ Wranglers on the road and im floored at whos buying these. Legitimately that 4xe is 23k more than my 22’ Mojave was brand new and I very close to fully loaded. Seriously 86k for a Wrangler!! Those payments would be over $500 bi weekly if you did nothing down.
Biggest mistake stellantis has done is chopping the hemi engine and even more the hellcats from the line up which leaves them with nothing but sorry jeeps and humdrum vehicles no one wants
Guys remember these prices are in Canadian dollars. To get the US prices chop it by 20%. However, he is right. I think we will see these vehicles blown out on really cheap leases.
Thanks for clarifying and yes there are some money on the table, some for the buyers, and some for the dealers. If they are pushing a product, know there is sometimes something behind it.
Here is what I want. A straight 6 non turbo, no super anything that over stresses the engine, maybe in a wild dream a diesel? 4 wheel drive and cost under $30K. No digital touch screen crap. Manual shift.
