John Miller it just proves that the engineers that designed it knew what they were doing and they design things for a specific reason. People that go overboard thinking they have to do certain things to their truck before they can take it off road really should just take it off road stock first to see what it can and can't do and I think they would be surprised.
My stock wj has outsurprised any expectation I could EVER throw at it. When I say she crawled some crazy boulders and rock hills.....I mean it. Colorado has some pretty nice trails to prove its capabilities. All about wheel placement ladies and gentlemen.
BrianScott2133 That’s completely true, and my zj is still stock a year later for that exact reason. It’s entertaining to watch guys with their $50k lifted wranglers with 35’s struggle to get up a hill, followed by me getting up it right after them, and some puzzled looks. Just pick the right line, all I’ve done is take off the front sway bar
IAm a STRAPPED IN FOR LIFE XJ FAN, AS IN REGULAR CHEROKEE, BUT, MY 2ND JEEP LOVE IS THE VERY BADASS V8, OR 4.0 INLINE SIX CYLINDER EQUIPPED GRAND CHEROKEE!!! SUCH A NICE RIDE BUT WITH SUCH HARDCORE PROVEN OFF ROAD, MUD, ROCKS, SAND, SNOW, ETC. ANY AND ALL TERRAIN CAPABILITY!! JUST INCREDIBLE REALLY, A NICE COMFORTABLE RIDE, CLASSY LOOKING AND U DONT HAFTA GIVE UP ANYTHING ON PERFORMANCE FOR THAT LUXURIOUS INTERIOR, JUST A KIK ASS WIN WIN!!!!
Our favorite trail! Run it probably 3 dozen times and posted 10 or move videos from there.. and it’s downright scary when it’s wet if you take some of the difficult sections on the backside. Thinking about getting a Cherokee as our next project-Jeep.. we’ll try to keep the springs in it.
As an owner of a.2000 WJ, I'm proud to see the capability this design has! No, it's not Rubicon or Moab but that trail ain't no slouch! I've seen WJ's run both very capably! Hey... Wranglers AERNT the only Jeep! Keep making some new and exciting trails!!
Awesome video. I used to run Cleghorn with my XJ now own a 2004 WJ and it's getting a 2" lift and tires this week. Cant wait to get back on this trail.
@@NajarOffroad It's a tough call really. I love them both. I can't really speak for my WJ off road cause it hasn't seen trail time yet but, based on your video I'm thinking it's going to do pretty well. I'm expecting to see better rear articulation due to coils instead of leafs...:)
Good for you guys reppin the WJ, I'm from MA and it's all yj's and xj's and then your jk owners with their mall crawlers, never seen dirt in their lives
had the same thing happen on my WJ passenger side, spring was not seated correctly after going through a rut too fast. Good idea to disconnect the swaybar to get more clearance to compress strut. live and learn
Any of these jeeps running the Quadra trac II ? I have a 04 4.0 Quadra trac II . I’ve never off roaded but would like to . Just want to know how capable my specific model is .
Not bad for grocery-getters, eh? Is there any way to prevent the springs from popping out? I'm worried that will happen to me after I install the JKS disconnects. I have a 2" BB lift.
That was my WJ that lost the coil. Spring retainers are the easiest way to prevent it. I doubt you'd be able to unseat yours with a 2" BB unless you also get longer shocks.
@@NajarOffroad it's a work in progress.. it's got a long arm lift, probably 4.5ish (I didn't do it) and trimmed fenders.. I'm deployed currently but I have a bunch of work to do when I get home.. swapping out bumpers, swapping in some jk Rubicon axles
So all u guys and girls out there! I'm thinking of getting a 2005/06 grand cherokee, but which one? The 4.7 or the 5.7? Guna b over 100000 mile car! Serviced and looked after, how many miles can they do? Heard bad things about the 5.7, but all makes have a few lemons! Help me decide please!
@@ZiegzLife the v6 only comes as diesel 3.0 crd in uk! Very similar power output as 4.7 v8 petrol! Have put deposit on a 1 owner 2001 4.7 v8 limited petrol, fsh, with only 64000 proven miles! Very tidy, unmolested! But me being me, I will do 2 inch lift, A/T tyres, and sports exhaust! I love the v8 burble!!
@@user-jq5jx8nn5h i run a 4inch short arm kit. Its was cheap and mine doesn't leave the tarmac much. Lift cost me $600 and i got 5 jk take offs for $400 with really good tires
I just did this trail in my special edition wj. Was probably one of the scariest things i have done. Then again it was my second only trail and i took the hard route
Najar bascially, it only has a 2inch lift, a/t tires, a bumper bar and a light bar. It only has quadra trac 2, so open difs, no skid plates. I do plan to add lockers when i get the cash, but for now open diffs are food for learning.
Nice i have the 2.5 inch bb lift and also upcountry springs with bilstein shocks, general grabbers at2 and selec-trac so open diffs also but it gets the job done. I use my jeep as a daily so i dont need much more than that. I just uploaded a new video of my jeep check it out
Najar so do i, mines a daily driver, i would be putting selectable stuff in. But yeah, it works just fine. I just have aftermarket shocks with stock springs with spacers, i somehow didnt dislodge a spring on the trail.
Select-trac is the better of them. You can run in "Full Time" 4WD most of the time, putting less stress on the drive train. With the capability to lock the transfer case front to back in "part time" when you need it. Unlike the old Command-Track, in "full time" you can run in 4WD on pavement so its great for rain and snow or busting down a dusty trail. Its really a Command-Track with a selectable center differential. Also if you need to remove the rear drive line doesn't mind gingerly limping out on the front axle if necessary. You need to install the "Slip yoke Eliminator " to do this, but it gives you options. It's my understanding that the Quadra-Track can be damaged if this is done to it.
Yes but IFS can't flex like SFI. Yota's always have wheels in the air, causing loss in traction, making front and rear lockers an absolute must. They don't lift the body when flexed out leaving it in a vulnerable position. Spring retainers are cheep and easily solve this problem.
crazyt1ger08 owned a 96 land cruiser and a 2001 grand Cherokee limited. Loved them both. Love what you got or get something else. It’s freedom of choice you know!
These Jeeps look like s*** I got a 12000 pound winch on mine Miami teal blue wrap 4 inch lift Lambo doors and 35 inch tires Rock lights oversized roof rack homemade
