Check out this Jeep TJ and see how simple it is to do a 10 inch stretch with some VERY available axles. Follow this Jeep’s owner on IG @Centex_jeeper Follow me at @WarPaintJKU SUBSCRIBE to this channel for tons more!!!
Just sent him a follow and a question! I have pretty much the same plan for my Tj. Glad to see I could get 8 inches of stretch without doing a back half kit.
Hey yea! And about a year ago he was barely just learning how to weld. I helped him and did the frame chop part…but he did everything else. Can’t wait to do the ton swap this fall.
That’s awesome! I’m actually pulling the D44’s next week and putting tons under it. I’ll be putting those videos out soon. I’m then building a yj with my kids next year. It’s going to be their crawler…they are 9 and 11. That rig will also get tons.
@@WarPaintOffroad man that's AWESOME! That will be so cool to do. I'm guessing they love wheeling already. They learn so much building the YJ with dad. Man i love that.
Nicely done! Especially since he didn't go overboard and it looks somewhat more budget conscious, although I'll defer to him on that. What size tires? 37s?
Yea sir. It was very budget conscious. It ended up with 37’s. Performs GREAT! And because it only has Dana 44’s and not a big one ton diff…with 37’s he has the same ground clearance that I do on my jku with tons and 40’s. It’s a great set up.
That gas tank in the back like that all exposed could be bad news if he drives that on the road. Personally, I would have a thick steel gate, probably go with 1/4”. Make it a tailgate. In front of that, I would have a spare tire for cushioning. Rear end accidents happen all the time. All it takes is 1 idiot texting on his phone or drunk or tired, and BAM!! That aluminum fuel tank could rip open, and the impact could douse gas all over the driver. And a spark from any number of things, and your life is all over as you know it. Just my observation.
Yea. It could. But anything bad can happen in any accident. The rear of this jeep is very high compared to most other vehicles. So there are things to consider there. It does now have a tailgate on it. It just is what it is.
@@WarPaintOffroadI like your Jeep bro. It’s awesome. Mine is very similar (or, I should say “on its way to being similar”). I’m going to do a rear stretch, just a few inches, maybe 4 inches. So I’ve got to build my own gas tank because, as you already know, the pumpkin will hit it in its stock position. I want to keep my rear tub as it is (no seats, of course). Need room for the dog and supplies. I’m making it out of aluminum, but I’m thinking of trying to incorporate a steel plate behind it, or maybe some kind of cage, just in case.
