According to Jeff Garlin, he had been the subject of an HR investigation three years in a row prior to him making his recent exit from The Goldbergs. The announcement of Jeff’s exit came towards the end of 2021. Prior to that, fans had expected the star to at least finish filming the rest of the show’s ninth season. Despite this change in plans, ABC claims that the decision for Jeff to leave was mutual.
Now that Jeff Garlin has officially exited from The Goldbergs, fans are wondering whether or not the show will get another season. While ABC has yet to announce the tenth season, some recent news suggests that the show continuing is a good possibility. However, it certainly won’t have Jeff in it! I met Jeff at lunch a few years ago and politely asked him for a selfie. He said he didn't do those, but instead gave me a huge bear hug in front of everyone. I'm a big guy like Jeff so I'm sure it looked odd. It's true though, the dude likes to hug, nothing wrong with that.

I really miss Adam F. and his VHS memories. His exit seems to have been a curse on the show as a whole. Now, it's just like the final seasons of Happy Days or That 70s Show.

I miss George Segal when he died as he contributed so much to the show. I don't think the series will be the same without Jeff Garlin but I think the show had run it's course anyway even if Jeff Garlin had of stayed It was really funny when the actors who played the children were really young because of all the mischief they caused to their parents . With these people gown up and these activities no longer happening the series has lost it's punch.

I used to watch this show and love it. But it really needed to end last season. George Segal is gone and now Jeff Garlin is gone, who played my two favourite characters. The show has gone away from its original premise (the real Adam Goldberg's life and family during the 80's) now that the real Adam Goldberg has left and the 80's references have lessened in recent years. Every episode is now Beverly interfering in her children's lives, she oversteps boundaries, they fight, and then all hung at the end. Rinse and repeat. The first six seasons were great, but it has dropped off since then. Beverly has become an annoying character and I am sick of her now. The show has become all about her.

Maybe he should have simply entered politics, after all, look at all the perversions Brandon and his son are hiding on that laptop we were told didnt exist, the daughters diary, the secret service agents testimonials, dumping his dying wife for the teenage babysitter ( your doctor titled first lady today), etc etc etc...

I don't think anyone's denying Bidens a creep (at least those of us who have common sense), there's a plethora of pictures of him sniffing and rubbing kids alone that proves his creepiness. However I don't think we should be so quick to say garlin is on that level. I admittedly don't pay much attention to celebs or entertainment news, but from what I gather all he did was say the word vagina and hug someone who allegedly didn't want to be hugged. That person could've said don't hug me when he did it, maybe he forgot and hugged the person again, maybe she or he held a grudge (it isn't unheard of) and tried to screw him over. Maybe she or he completely lied about it. I feel not only would that entire cast and crew say something about it, but the other show he's on would do or say something about it too. I think people are just thin skinned and get offended by everything.

Anonymous accusers. Inquisition anyone? Hugs used to be the order of the day, but you have to keep your eyes to the ground and hands at your side at all times these days. At work one day, back in the 80s, my female coworker was walking to the breakroom with a huge pear in her hands. I innocently said "Wow! That's a nice looking pear!" She then looked down at her boobs and said "I know. Thank you!"😂 Neither of us felt violated. We got a good laugh and moved on.

Garlin's departure involved a lot more than "inappropriate hugging." I have a friend who worked as Garlin's stand-in on the show. He shares the same height and build, and even similar hair once the makeup dept. has grayed it a little to match. He has told me that Garlin would only stay on set for the scenes where he was shot from the front, then immediately leave. Standard procedure is to shoot a scene a number of times from different angles. We've all seen a dialogue scene that cuts from one person to the next, with alternating shots coming from behind each actor, over their shoulder. These are shot separately and spliced together post-production, but Garlin would never stay for the scenes where he was shot from behind. What you're seeing is the back of my friend's head and his ear (I can tell the difference; I actually recognize the back of his head). The show runners limited Garlin's wardrobe, also, so that my friend was just told which shirt to wear to make it easier to splice those shots in. In addition to this prima donna behavior, Garlin was nasty and profane to others on set, especially the people who worked behind the scenes. He made everyone uncomfortable and inconvenienced everyone by being volatile and unprofessional.

that's not physically or sexually inappropriate at all, and the forced secrecy and ambiguity around his on-set behavior seem to imply as much--esp saying he had a penchant for giving too many hugs. it seems that the issues are purely professional, (i.e. how he views his job description.) your friend has a job, after all, for a reason. it's pretty standard practice for actors to have stand-ins / doubles

I don't feel the accusations against him are a fireable offence. Actors, singers etc. Once they make a name for themselves it's usually people work around their personalitie. So when they hire new people they should be told this is how they are and given the option if they are ok with it and if not go look somewhere else for a job. He should have not been fired. They new who he was when they gave him the roll.

I loved this show from the beginning. Murry, Barry, and pops were my favorite characters but now that we have lost two of them, I think I am done. Besides, it has gotten a bit long in the tooth. Oh, and, yes, they already renewed the thing for season 10... why?!?! Let it go while it still has some dignity...☺ BTW, I absolutely hate the Erica and her simp of a husband storyline. He is sooooo freakin' annoying. One last thought: Wendy needs to leave the Goldbergs and get back to the rumored Reno 911 reboot!!! PLEASE.

I will admit the show has gone downhill. It’s still funny and it’s cute in a dumb way, I didn’t know anything about Jeff leaving until I watched the first episode and then googled his story. I heard it was a win-win situation but still they didn’t fire the late Bob Saget for his potty mouth on full house. Despite how he left on that show he was a good actor.

The Goldbergs is making it to the decade mark. The 1980s-set comedy has been renewed for its 10th season on ABC. The renewal arrives a month after star and exec producer Wendi McLendon-Covey signed a new deal to return with producers Sony Pictures Television.Apr 19, 2022. The renewal announcement is almost a month old as this video is being posted. You would think that that FACT would have been mentioned.

The show was somewhat funny in the beginning but always had a mediocre cookie cutter thing about it as most sitcom’s currently do. I can’t help it Tv is kind of boring now. Political correctness kills good comedy. As for weather The Goldbergs survive another season? Who the hell cares? I’m surprised it made this long. Not like it’s All In The Family or some other great show that caught lightning in a bottle. It’s a formula show with predictable plot and dialogue.

This show was on for 9 years? I saw the very first episode and it was so bad I thought they'd cancel it mid-season. The show isn't funny at all, it isn't wise, and the characters are all types. The only time I"ve seen kid actors act like they are told to act like kid actors. It's terrible.

I think being a Jewish family is the HOOK. I LOVED the first few seasons, which were based on Adam's real life growing up. Then when asshat Wendi took over it SUCKED!!! Glad to hear it's at the end of its run!

For some reason, Jeff Garlin reminds me of Harvey Weinstein: and, that's just sad and scary. Also, Jeff's "natural humor" (being demeaning) is reminiscent of what the late Don Rickles put out. I never liked Rickles for that very reason.
