One of my favorite videos is Jeff Healey and Stevie Ray Vaughn preforming "Look at Little Sister". Aren't we blessed to have been around for Jeff, Patrick, and Stevie?
Years ago, I was at a little Jazz Club call the Beat Niq in Calgary, in the basement of a restaurant called the Pick niq... you had to go in through the kitchen it was awesome. Anyway we're watching some average band, and all of a sudden the guys in the middle of singing a song and he points down into the front of the club and he says is that Jeff Healey? The bad completely stopped playing and had Jeff Healey come up, and Jeff did the craziest thing I've ever seen at a live show. He did a history of Jazz, going back 100 years, Dixieland, Hard Bebop, Acid, everything. And he did it by playing every single instrument they had, including the clarinet. Best live show I've ever seen.
Fauk he was one hot player, a friend and incredible to watch in concert..Jeff was just a regular guy , a fun guy, who's guitar was attached to his heart beat. His blood pumped with every lick, one incredible player who faced cancer every day of his 41 years on earth with a smile. He will without a doubt be remembered and inspire young players for generations to come.
If there was one person that could nail any cover of any song ever recorded, it would be Jeff Healey. Man could he ever sing (and play)! I cried for many hours when I heard of his passing.
My God.....I was a bouncer when this movie came out......all of a sudden, everyone's a bouncer....wish I had a pound for every story and application I ever heard......still, you know boys.....
If you know, you know...my dad was a doorman when this came out, and he loved this film! But yes, fight volume in the bar went up hahaha....did not really slow him down showing people the door :)
I got a Jeff Healey CD as a present and it was put on for me before knowing who it was, before hearing any vocals and just the opening guitar, I said “Hendrix?”, and then I hear the voice knowing exactly who it was. I’ve been playing guitar 50 years and a student of all the greats going back a century.... i was pleasantly fooled by Jeff’s opening riffs. Jeff was unique and very good at guitar playing a unique way, on his lap, truly a magnificent guitarist.
@Sgili Me too ! One of my all time favorite movies ! Yes ill bet you are proud of your son. Building guitars is quite an accomplishment! And a great money maker also .
To play the guitar when u have sight is easy, jeff shows us how it should be done even without sight the man is and always will be the best an absolute genius.
Healey made this movie in my opinion. Without that sound track roadhouse wouldn’t have been nearly as good. I randomly get the songs stuck in my head and that makes me wanna watch the movie.
Hi Tommy. At the age of 3, Jeff was given his first guitar for Christmas. Jeff's dad knew some 'Hawaiian style' (similar to a lap steel) so he set up the guitar with a high action and gave Jeff an iron bar slide to play with. He was still too small to hold the guitar, so they set it on the bed and Jeff banged away at it standing up. In Jeff's words, after a few years of 'torturing his parents with strange noises' he started trying to figure out how to play what he was hearing on records. They moved the action down to a more manageable height and Jeff started working out chords and such. He was already used to the guitar being flat, so that's how he continued... ~Rog
One of the most underrated songs let alone artists there ever was, come on he couldn't even see the fucking thing. My Oldman showed me a ticket he bought back in the 80's in London, it's all stained and flaking, history's crazy especially when it's in your hands, fantastic musician

I'm also getting a little bit of a SRV vibe up in there, as well. 🎵🎤 Wow, what a rare & underappreciated gem he was. ✊My oldhead friend (that has sadly passed on; RiP Weemz😭) turned me on to a slew of underrated & glossed over musicians that I've just mentioned here, and I am soo very _grateful_ for it.🤘 But now that I've mentioned it, I sadly realise that I was totally born in the wrong era.☮💜☯

He is with Gary Moore, Stevie Ray and Glen Frey, likely ran into Jimmy Hendrix and George Harrison as well. Jeff was so much younger than these guys however was discovered in a local bar in Toronto by Stevie Ray, and hooked up with Clapton, Harrison, Moore once or twice over the years. Jeff packed in quite a life in his short years on earth...Very respected artist and man...
