If people care about someone lying about alcohol then there avoiding caring about real issues. I personally don't see how this is considered serious since theft is theft regardless of "how much". Also there can be a big difference between the product value as manufactured, the wholesale value and the retail value. Jeffree tended to speak only of the retail value of the products, which is the product at its most valuable. Cops don’t care about his ability to make a profit so they tend to look at the value of the product manufactured which is the lowest value of the product.

So Jeffree sells product worth 10 thousand dollars for 2.5 million dollars. Think of buying a bar of candy for 1 dollar and you sell it for 250 dollars.

It’s an extremely convenient round number. The 10000 is very likely the threshold to get to whatever level of theft this was suspected of being and doesn’t represent the value of the products at all. Or it’s the value of some of the product. The police report is in no way a smoking gun. The insurance pay out would be more illuminating since it would be closer to the actual economic loss.
