@@gabrieldjatienza6971Dread made a brief cameo in a season 2 episode. Fun fact: in the Latin American dub of Laff-A-Lympics, Dread Baron and Mumbly were called Dick Dastardly and Muttley.
@@Silverstar_ What if the joke is that Dick and Mutley were always disguised as the Baron and Mumbly. Dick: "With our flawless disguises, we had you fooled all those years..." Huck: "We knew, but who cared?" Dick: "What?!" Booby Loouie: "Seriously, who cared! It was always you but with an ugly helmet on!" Dick: "It wasn't ugly, it was a beautiful family inheritance from Grandpa!"
Wow Daisy Mayhem is a REALLY deep cut. The only other time she's appeared was back in the Doo's Laff-a-lympics though it is appreciated at least using what they have access to in the Hanna Barbera character library.
One idea I would’ve had for Dick Dastardly is that he tries to take over the town, and rename it “Dastardlyville”, and everyone thinks that’s a stupid name.
@@lifewithlee6298it’s like a Second South Town situation. The first bedrock was destroyed and so people built a new bedrock right next door. But then the original bedrock was rebuilt so now there’s just two Bedrocks next to each other
Jellystone not only brought back the Really Rottens from Laff-a-Lympics, but Dastardly and Muttley. Not the Dread Baron and Mumbly, who were stand-ins in Laff-a-Lympics, but the actual Dastardly and Muttley from Wacky Races (1968) and Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines!
The reason Laff-A-Lympics used Dread Baron and Mumbly was due to a rights issue with Dick Dastardly and Muttley. Wacky Races was co-produced with Heatter-Quigley Productions and HQP didn't give the okay with Laff-A-Lympics. To remedy this, they used expies. Dread Baron was created full cloth and according to the associated comic, he's Dick's twin brother. Mumbly was repurposed from his own show made a year prior where he was a detective. Both later started in Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose which was Dread Baron's final role and I believe Mumbly's last one as a villain. The odd thing is that outside of Mumbly and the Daltons, the Really Rottens are all expies. Daisy Mayhem and her pig Sooey are based on Moonbeam McSwine from Li'l Abner. The Great Fondoo was based on Yogi character Abner K. Dabra with his pet Magic Rabbit based on the White Rabbit from HB's take on Alice in Wonderland. The Creepleys were based on a combo of Mr. & Mrs. J. Evil Scientist from Snagglepuss's and Snooper and Blabber's shorts and the Gruesomes from The Flintstones with Orful being a combo of the Gruesomes' pet octopus Occy and Squiddly Diddly.
@@motxmod According to Wikipedia, the Scooby Doobies (Scooby Doo's team in Laff-a-Lympics) were going to have Jeannie (from the Hanna Barbera Jeannie cartoon based on I Dream of Jeannie) and "Junior Genie Babu", but Screen Gems wouldn't greenlight Jeannie, so Babu joined the team solo. Also Alex, Alexandra and Melody from the Josie and the Pussycats cartoon were going to be in the Scooby Doobies as well, but Archie Comics nixed that and the Teen Angels (from Captain Caveman) joined the team instead.
I'm a simple man... i see Dick Dastardly in some enterteinment form, and i click in that no mather what. I enjoy it like the first time i watched Wacky Races.. it's imposible to hate this Bad Guy.
I actually wanted to see Daisy mayhem on the show but I didn’t expect dastardly and Muttley to actually appear! Dread Baron has appeared on the show though
So for Dick Dastardly to have a winning streak it just had to be something other than racing or catching a pigeon...honestly I can believe it. Racing is easy for him to self sabotage by slowing down and setting up traps (the joke being if he played fair he would win)
Now its even more confusing. They have dastardly and Muttley in this. But in the original laff alympics, it was dread baron and Mumbly Dopplegangers of the more famous ones. I think it had to do with ownerships of the characters at the time
I think at the time it Was cause of ownership issues, which is why they had dread baron and mumbly, I think? But obviously they can use dick dastardly and muttley now.
@@2cupsoforangejuice It was. Wacky Races was a co-production with Heatter-Quigley Productions. HQP didn't give the okay to use them for Laff-A-Lympics. A similar issue happened with the Scooby Doobies' original lineup. It was going to be Scooby, Shaggy, and Scooby-Dum, Tinker and Speed Buggy, Jeannie and Babu ftom the I Dream Of Jeannie cartoon, and Melody, Alexander, Alexandra, and Sebastian from Josie and The Pussycats. Columbia had the rights to Jeannie and Archie with The Pussycats. HB remedied this using Hong Kong Phooey for Jeannie and Captain Caveman and The Teen Angels to replace The Pussycat characters. The Teen Angels were a perfect fit for a similar dynamic: a smart one, a coward, a ditz, and a comedic character.
One hope I have for this show was to see the Wacky Racers again. To see Dick and Muttley again gives me a bit of hope. Or at the least, I can be happy with seeing those two again.
No disrespect to Dwight Schultz I'm sure he's a good actor but I'm not a fan of his Dick Dastardly voice, I think Jim Cummings or even Michael Bell would have been a good choice.
If Dinky Dalton, Dirty Dalton, Dastardly Dalton, The Great Fondoo, The Magic Rabbit, Daisy Mayhem, Sooey Pig, Mrs Creepley, and Orful Octopus appeared in that episode....Where are Mister Creepley and Creepley Junior?
Come on, Huckleberry. What's the big deal? You used to be a member of the Yogi Yahooeys back in the days, remember? I remembered when you used to cheer for Yogi as he skates on the ice with a skate tied on the top of his head ("Because I'm smarter than the average bear! Hey-hey-hey!").
It is not probable, because it was a borrowed license. and Godzilla is property of Universal, and would apply to other Hahnaa Barbera series with a borrowed license such as the original Smurfs series.
@@BigBoy257 Just did the research and it turns out you’re right. Jim voiced Dick in the 2006 pilot to the unaired Wacky Races spinoff and even in the video games. Although, I wonder if he remembers that.
Hanna Barbera did a run with them back in the 60s. But you’re right, considering that greedy Disney owns them now, it’ll be a cold day in hell before they appear in this show.

This show just makes no sense to me. It's nothing but pointless randomness on top of pointless randomness, the characters are all ugly and the creator ruined what could have been a great show! It was already ruined for me when I heard that the creator behind Chowder was behind it! I'm sorry everyone but... I really don't understand what the appeal is, what am I missing here?
