Always liked the way they just sang this to cheer her up, and seeing Jerrica play with the hologram projecting abilities for fun, rather than as a plot point.

This song was in the episode "In Stitches". This episode focused mainly on Shana for once, and this was a good thing. I think we learn a bit about Shana's personality: She does have designing interests.About her fashion designer talents, she is insecured. And Shana is often reserved but she can have a temper when she is provocated (as when the Misfits stole her designs). I think this is a good Jem and the Holograms' song : good voices , good subject(the others Holograms try to reassure Shana and to have fun about themselves), fairly good lyrics and fairly good music.
The animation in this music video is top quality! I hate to say it, but a lot of the music videos had really awkward animation. But this one is very fluid and natural!
yeah of course, probably because back in the 80's usually with animation the only goal is to sell toys. That's why they all have the same models and all that. Plus I doubt they were given that high of an animation budget
Most of the animation for the show was done by Toei. The rest were handled by a South Korean studio called AKOM. You can recognize their work right away, because Raya looks Caucasian in those eps instead of Latina.
Shauna was the honest one when it came to what she was capable of and literally showed how dedicated she was to everything in her life. Empowerment at its finest
As an 18 yr old who just happened to watch Jem and the holograms after finding it on Netflix when I was in like 4-6th grade I am so sad that almost no one my age knows of the masterpieces that was this show and all its songs. I'm currently going through a huge obsession with rewatching Jem and listening to all the songs on repeat 😭😭🫶
Even when I watched this show for the first time back in the early 90s (re-runs), it always felt like the ladies doing the Holograms' backing vocals were black because their vocal tones gave alot of the songs a Jazzy/Swing/Motown type sound. No matter how the melodies were produced, many of the Hologram's music sounded similar to the Pointer Sisters and Irene Cara's early 80s songs. You can hear those elements in this particular song as well as several others during the show's run.

Alas, both Hasbro & Integrity Toys used to make the Jem dolls last year, but not anymore because Integrity Toys no longer have Hasbro's license to continued to make anymore Jem dolls. When the year 2025 comes, it will be the 40th anniversary of Jem & The Holograms. Princess Angel

I'm like half and half of this show coming back. Obviously can't just start at the ending where it left off, but if it's a reboot or something, I'd be nervous of them screwing it up, but I'd love to see them do amazing with this.
I always thought it was sad Jerrica thought that she had to transform into JEM just to sing a song just to one of her friends. I wish Jerrica sang more songs in the TV show, not as Jem but as herself.
Actually I'd believe it was more THEIR MOM'S DOING (not only she approves of it she was in charge of doing the images). She'd always do it for HER GANG. But Jerrica felt she didn't needed to sing WITHOUT HER HOLOGRAPHIC GARB. But we (at the other side of the inkwell) would've like it very much. Just figure, who was the ultimate vote on Carmen Raya's entrance to the group? HERS and after Carmen Raya watching her "in mid air" she got "the scare of her life"... (wanted to see how "Jacqui S." wound up asking Carmen's forgiveness)
