groups/jemdoll/ El mini-concierto de Jem y The holograms realizado en agosto: 13 MINUTOS en HD. 1. Way i was (Jem) 2. Moviestar (Aja) 3. Alone Together (Jem) 4. Youngblood (jem and the holograms)
The second song sounds auto tuned. I don't think there are many people not using at least some auto tune these days. But hey, we do all kinds of crap to guitar signals so why not do stuff the the signal on the vocals?
RedEmbers22 I think a lot more consideration and a lot more passion were put into the music than the movie as the plot didn't seem to make sense at all at times throughout the script. Also, the script written by Ryan Landels was originally called "Famous" about a girl rising to fame on RU-vid with the script rewritten with the Jem characters' names and places put into the script. It seems that they couldn't be bothered to put any care and consideration into the movie at all, which was disappointing. And some people wonder why there wasn't a sequel in the space of 3 years since this movie came out, even if it was originally going to undo the mess that was made in the first movie or not. Unless it was after the backlash and then Jon Chu maybe felt forced to make changes for a sequel, do some reshoots for the Misfits to appear, and add cameos for Christy Marx (the co-creator and co-writer of the Jem animated series) as Lindsey Pearce (a character from the animated series that Christy created), Samantha Newark, the speaking voice of Jem/Jerrica, and Britta Phillips, the singing voice of Jem, then give us a second movie trailer, which didn't help, as it was too late after seeing how bad the first movie trailer was. 😃 Also, I heard that the Misfits scene was during the end credits when some people would leave the screen room and not see it, which was a bad idea. Jon should have put it right after the scene that we thought was the end for us to be excited for something in the future and maybe make up our minds about wanting to seea sequel, but sadly it wasn't to be and the movie ended being pulled after 2 weeks and not shown all over the world. Some countries like the UK, where I am from, we got 1 week showing of it and with no advertisements, so we had no idea that the movie was showing, until later on when Samantha Newark (Jem/Jerrica from the animated series) mentioned it on a page on Facebook somewhere, and I thought, oh, bloody hell. Well, it's too late now. It was blink and you'll miss it, which I reckon a lot of us Brits probably did. 🙁 Other countries like Australia didn't even get a movie showing, as it went straight to DVD. I had to get a DVD of it to see what the new fans and the old fans were raving about.
Still listening to Aubrey in 2024. I can’t believe she did the Way I Was without in-ears. That’s difficult enough to sing normally, but imagine you can’t yourself hear very well from the audience and loud band noise. Yet she did it flawlessly.
Sabes de algún otro nuevo proyecto que tenga? Luego de esta película no volví a oír nada sobre ella lamentablemente, ni como actriz, ni como cantante. That's sad.
My daughter and I went to see Jem and The Holograms and it was FANTASTIC!! I really love seeing these girls play live on RU-vid!! Wish we could of been at this concert. My daughter would of LOVED it!! :)
Aubrey Peebles who plays Layla Grant on"Nashville" makes an amazing transformation from being a backup singer to a ROCK STAR in the movie Jem and The Holograms. Playing Jerrica Benton (JEM) she totally owns the role of JEM. I used to watch this cartoon every Saturday back in the day. When I first saw this movie I thought a voice that great had to be Lip Synced. I guess I was wrong. The voice we hear in the movie is real and beautiful.
THE APRIL FOOL 1983 All of you guys will have to ask Jon Chu, Hasbro, Universal and the rest of the cast and the crew on Twitter and elsewhere on social media to make a sequel happen. 😊😃
I want one also, even if it’s just direct-to-Home media. Give us some Misfits, give us Jerrica and Rio exploring their romance and relating to both being fatherless - and give us more Synergy: I actually did go on Twitter to say as much to Jon M Chu.
@@Shred_The_Weapon how about synergy doing a hologram like she did back in the old cartoon like what they did for the Robin Williams Flubber remake where his robot did a hologram of what she would look like as if she was human
Perfect in the spirit of Jem. I'm a snob about these things... but this is a great direction to go. This is what Jem would be like in the early days. Thumbs up, girls. Go, Go, Go!....Taking it further.
+Ryan Case Too bad the film was promoted so poorly. It actually wasn't that bad. I mostly saw it as a joke, the promotion made it look so bad. Then it ended up being pretty good.
I loved the movie mostly cause I can relate to all of her songs especially the last performance in the movie! I loved it. And Im officially a fan Of Jem and the Holograms
Maybe just do a straight to TV/dvd movie sequel? I mean I don't see why not and it had a budget of a TV movie anyways. Reunite the cast and tell the intended sequel with the Misfits.
SupermanKalL You would need to ask Jon Chu, the cast, the crew, Hasbro and Universal about making a sequel on Twitter and everywhere on social media, so you can have a sequel made before it's too late, before everyone is either too old to care, or doesn't want to make a sequel any more. 😃
It actually wasn't a bad movie.... they should've made Aubrey Jems daughter and these were the new Holograms that would've been more interesting and it would've introduced the new generation to the iconic Jem
I feel really sad this is a great movie I wanted a sequel buy its not happening bc of the hate yes it's not like the original but what do you expect its the 20th century no old show or movie will appear the same where have you seen some old show or movie that has been renovated be the same as the original? This was nothing like the original but it still had power and soul it was an amazing movies my blessing and wishes to the cast of this movie
@Picture Perfect nights I can’t directly think of examples of what you have said, but I am sure there are tv shows and movies that have been rebooted, continued or even reimagined in the right way for the future, but when certain elements have been removed, or changed so much for an origin story approach, it doesn’t resemble much of the franchise’s original story, nor its format. 😃
@@Summer21. agreed and based on what heard about this awful remake it's the same plot done in so many movies like josie and the pussycats movie and that movie was like the 70s cartoon series in my opinion 🛒
But it to strayed from the source material way too much. You can call it anything and it'd still be the same. I can see the hate this was getting, it wasn't really a good movie on its own to begin with.
Aubrey Peebles who plays Layla Grant on"Nashville" makes an amazing transformation from being a backup singer to a ROCK STAR in the movie Jem and The Holograms. The fact that this film didn't totally blow the roof off the box office is(to me) truly outrageous - and not in a good way. This film and its cast deserved so much better than they got. It should be redistributed to theaters with a bigger push from Universal. Hayley Kiyoko has a total Gena Schock (the Gogo's) thing going on. And, I eventually want to hear Aubrey covering songs previously performed by the late, great, underrated Laura Branigan.
ShreadTheWeapon Jon Chu shouldn't have made the Jem movie a prequel. It was far removed from the original backstory, which was what alienated a lot of fans, me included, and it was made wholly about social media. Jason Blum, who was one of the three main producers, alongside Jon Chu, and Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber's and Ariana Grande's manager) did apologise this year to the fans who didn't like it. Christy Marx, the co-creator and co-writer of the animated series, who cameoed as Lindsey Pearce, a character also from the animated series, was happy that Jason apologised and agreed with fans on her Facebook fan page if Jon would do so one day. I recently heard that Jon Chu crowdfunded that movie. I also heard some years ago, the movie's script, written by Ryan Landels, was called "Famous", based on a young girl who finds fame on RU-vid, and that they just renamed the movie and altered the script with Jem characters' names and places, which sounds terrible as if no thought was put into that movie at all. 🙁
Those fools at Universal only hurt themselves when they yanked Jem & the Holograms after just 2 weeks in the cinema. Give people a chance to give it a chance. I saw it, and it was awesome. I tried telling people I know that had seen the series to give the film a chance, but they’d written it off before it was even out. I chose to see for myself. Was rewarded greatly when I saw it - and devastated when it was pulled (as I lost a good friend the day after I saw it on the big screen and would’ve liked another screening to cheer me up). Only thing missing here is Stephanie Scott performing “Hit Me Up“.
They really should have made a part two to the movie it would have been so dope they really could have blown it up but the media machine wasn’t there so sad a time passed
It's a shame Jon Chu deviated from the story on the movie. It was a great movie on it's own merits apart from the Jem aspect but a terrible Jem movie because it lacked the essence of the original show. The movie really was just a completely different story with different characters that happened to have the same names as the Jem characters and used some of the tag lines. It's tragic really. It really was a great movie with great music, acting, an production (especially for the budget). They should have let Christy Marx have full artistic control because Jon Chu didn't know what he was doing.
The music is really nice. I didn't think Hailey Steinfeld's sound should've been involved with the Jem movie's songs. The 80's tv show had explosive fun pop music, the movie has sappy sounding songs that would be perfect for a climax on Pitch Perfect or a Disney Channel musical.
Am I the only person that realizes they're using a fucking loop? That's if they're even singing at all. And why didn't these talented young ladies jump on instruments like they played in the movie. hmmmm......... Damn, people.
