LOL 1:19 I'm the little blonde grom in the foreground. I instantly remembered Sammy doing that when I saw the clip.... What a trip, that was like 23 years ago!!!
Dexta Chris hmm, i committed a sin and sold my vhs collection years ago so cant see them all. but top of my head in no order i would say ....the first tiltmode video, and mandown, welcome to hell, new blood, sorry, yeah right, um .....
It was becauae of this team, my Shortys skateboard never left my hand at 9-14years old Almost 28 this year and still buying shortys boards, met these guys in my city years back(Solana Beach) Eden Gardens, huge Fucken shout out to everybody in this Era ✌
Yes sir, grew up in PB in SD and would always see them out and about filming. It was awesome to see kids just a little bit older than me being an actual skate video.
This is the the first skate video i owned and watched back when it came out! Ive probably watched that over a hundred times! This is so dope seeing this! Especially Smolik‘s part! 🔥🔥🔥✊🏻✊🏻✊🏻
My friend Sam and I bumped into them skating the financial district in Boston when they were filming for Guilty. They offered for us to tag along the whole day and help them find some spots. We didn’t have cell phones yet so being in the moment was awesome and it was literally a dream day. We saw all of the Boston tricks happen in person that are in the video and the issue of thrasher that had them at the Boston spots. I still have a copy. Chad really was the nicest guy and in person skating they were all very cool and even a bit quiet. Smolik was maybe the most reserved. Steve Olson was someone I always wanted to skate with so that was a dream come true. Part of me wishes we had a camera that day. But I’m very thankful to just have enjoyed the day. We parted ways with them at Copley and always wondered who was lucky enough that night to skate with them. Recently reached out to George to see if they had any b roll leftover as they were cool enough to keep the cameras rolling a bit when we seasoned spots with them. Just too long ago to dig that stuff up he said but pointed me to one of the fillers and said just keep an eye out for drop. We had lunch with them and everything. Top 3 days of my life after my daughter being born.
I was 12 when this came out. Grew up in San Diego in the skate scene and this video was a major staple for us kids just cause there were a lot of kids in it like Sammy and Brandon.
The absolute best era in skateboarding!!! What I wouldn't give to go back and live it all again... No fucking kooks just you and your homies killing shit all day everyday.
I wish we could see more footage of them just interacting and hanging out like the baker videos. To me all these guys are still like gods and icons. This video helped humanize them a little.
Ohhh if I could go do all that again!! Best times n skateboarding for me. That 93 to 99 time was just endless sessions into the early hours of the morning. Who didn’t want to pretend they had the style and steel of the Muska when they were rolling around or doing Muska style frontside flips. Cargo pants and beanies with the hood all day with a crispy white shirt. Perfect.
The good steve olson! Wish he was around more, need an interview with him for sure. And he looks so much like enzo cautela it's strange. Also I love how everyone cheers, all this "don't cheer on the video" seems wack.
Shit. Shorty's hit different back then. I can look up from the computer im working at, sitting at my kitchen table and there still..in pristine condition is a Smolik rolling dice deck looking right back at me like a piece of lost art hanging on my wall.
