their batch was the hardest to judge in my opinion, having her, latoya, fantasia, diana, jasmine, george and the others. they all give different flavors.
@@achosenvessel6563 / Everyone is entitled to their own opinion....and on that note,I say....she is That Good!!!!!!! God has blessed her with an Amazing Gift, she has such a Beautiful,Powerful, Soulful ....Voice!!💫💫
No singer in my opinion can understand this pain and passion like Jennifer Hudson. She always sings from her soul but this hits differently because she understands it all too well...... AMAZING PERFORMANCE
Oh my Goodness so yeah she was singing to God and her brother heard her along with Kobe and his daughter who are now watching over their family bec they are in the Kingdom of Heaven with the Lord.
@@KingChocoo She draws attention in anything she does. Even in her divorce she lied up. She lost. She wasn't awarded custody. She tries to get attention in EVERYTHING!! If a good singer is singing she takes away and tries to out do them. It is called the VOICE. NOT JHUD'S VOICE!!
She sang this on her murdered brothers birthday. I saw it on her IG. She sang the hell out of that song and much respect to her for singing it the way on what is probably a hard day for her.
She snatched my soul and transported it to the heavens above. She’s singing from a place of having experience that kind of grief. Rest in Peace Gigi, Kobe, the Altobellos, Coach Mauser, Payton and her mom Susan and Ara, the pilot. Jen’s mom, brother and nephew, continue to Sleep in peace❤️🙏🏾God is still Sovereign.
It's pretty clear people simply don't know what real singing and talent is anymore. No clue! Saddest part is they think they do. This woman is one of the BEST!
There's something about that last "amen" that tells me she wasn't suppose to say it, but did it because she felt as if she needed reassurance on the prayer. Its almost as if like "I didn't get my point across, lemme make sure I sealed that prayer and sent it to Kobe and Gigi." Overall it was the perfect and we all know it. Thank you Jennifer.
She done Donny Hathaway justice "for all we know." Such a beautiful song that's befitting for Kobe and all of those affected by this tragedy, sung by someone whose experienced pain.
To lose multiple family members at once has to be the most painful thing imaginable. In my hometown an entire family of four was killed by a drunk driver. So tragic 😢
@AJ Amen!!!!! Whenever he does anything he has his reasons behind it all. My mother had a saying “even in your wellest hour you’re sick enough to die”. Never ask him why just hold on to his hand he is the best friend that you can have...I love each and everyone one of you and remember we may never understand, but ask God to mend your broken heart and he will do just that have faith in him like he has faith in you..God bless take care check on a neighbor apologize and mean it love one another. Be grateful. Stay prayed up. Visit the elderly. Stay humble. Do your part here on earth that God wants us to do...because death walks around our bed every night. It’s up to the man above to blow breath in your body every morning🙌🙏😇
your comment doesn’t make any logical sense... if your god is “loving” why would he or she plan to have people killed if that was their plans? Like how does that make sense, sounds like god has some serious psychological issues
No one can embody this song like she can. She did Donny Hathaway justice. You can hear the anointing all in her voice. As she’s healing others, she’s healing herself. Grievance comes in waves. I love you Jennifer. Sending my condolences to her, and all families affected by tragedy. 💔💜💛
They say it was her brother's birthday & she had been crying just before she walked on stage because someone had brought a cake & Jennifer, her sister & family members were singing Happy Birthday to him backstage.
💨💨💨Yes I remember that Chicago had a BLACK OUT during that time that people couldn’t vote for Jennifer instead Fantasia won. They both are good singers 🎉
I'm crying. Rip to Kobe and Gianna and all the others in this tragedy. I remember Jennifer's loss of her mother, brother and nephew as well. Losing close ones is so so painful . It's my fear but I know it will happen inevitably.
Some deaths are really hard to get over...this was how I felt when my mom fell dead before me while we were eating Easter dinner my sister died 11 mths after her...2 yr long battle with breast cancer...Thank you mama for teaching me how to pray
I'm so proud of Jennifer Hudson to put the right amount of emotion she singing from deep within JHUD is the voice of this time. I feel this, captivating, powerful, elegant, so beautiful
Not the time or place to debate the God given talents of Jennifer and Fantasia. Please focus on the words of the song and her eloquent delivery, and look at the beautiful captured moments of Kobe and Gigi. I imagine that even by man’s standards the worst singer on earth is singing and pouring their heart to the Almighty God that it is indeed sweet music to his ears and he hears it as perfect pitch and harmony.
I want to know why over 300 people didn't like this performance. She didn't overdo it. She sang from a place of sadness. She knows what its like to lose family so tragically and so suddenly. Until this performance I had never heard this song, but she did it justice. She sang from her heart. Had me crying and I wasnt even a Kobe fan. Great job Jennifer
I’ve lost count on the amount of rewinds from this tribute. Gave God his Glory and not one person on here can say they didn’t shed a tear. Anointed young Sister right here.😔
How awesome is Jennifer Hudson just totally awesome I didn't watch it for like 50 times already and still have the same feeling and the emotions that she came out and did such a wonderful job and felt everything that she did I agree with most of the viewers and I truly truly want to say I thank her and I pray for her every day for better day
It’s been a year and still watching Jennifer Hudson crying 😢 now ... this lady has been through a lot and yet she manages to console others in their most hurtful time . God bless you Jenni Huds.
@@BJ-tj7pn I'm not saying she can't sing , she can sing , it was just a little too much, and i did not feel touched by it and I get emotional real easily . Kobe and Gia rest in peace.
Am South African but I believe with my whole heart that JENNIFER HUDSON is the best singer I've ever had the pleasure to listen to, I dunno any artist with such emotion in their voice. She's definitely in the leagues of Whitney Houston 😩❤❤
Cuz them always compare her with beyonce and everyone always say she shouldn’t ever fame if not dream gurlz jenifer holiday all that shit .. im confiuse ergh
*Why give Kobe a tribute at all since he was a rich man (loaded) who was worth $600 million dollars* ??? Are you serious? He stuck a ball through a metal hoop and made $600 million from selling $200-$1000 pairs of sneakers from most people who don't even have health insurance. While 1.1 billion of the world has inadequate footwear, over 30 million children die a year in the world due to no shoes at all...yet Kobe is admired by millions. Are you nuts.. The fool was even a Catholic...and thousands of children have been raped by priest due to people like Kobe funding that madness. Wake up. Kobe served Satan and money and fame and rings...not God.
@@godrulesme8619 if this is your attitude and the best thing you can think of to say about a man that tragically lost his life along side his young daughter and 7 other people, than God doesn't rule you, satan does! You speak like a jealous and envious fool! Your soul is lost and if the best you can do is speak ill of the dead, then it would serve you better to just shut the hell up!!🤐
@@godrulesme8619 You have so much hate in you. You need to change your handle to Satan Rules Me. Kobe was not the cause of all of the world's ills. And what exactly have you done for your fellow man? You are a hater. Pretty sure no one wants to see your rants. People like you are what makes this world so very sad.
@@janeknight6526 Weak reply....Kobe let millions of people die since he would not use his money to even feed them you fool. Kobe did a ton more dark stuff, but that is one simple example. Do you really think God would hoard $600 million dollars and watch the money grow...while millions die and could be saved with that money? You are a fool and feel sorry for anyone who listens to your advice on God.
@Joseph Babica yes it was , I didn't feel it, pure screaming, they could have gotten somebody better don't get me wrong Hudson can sing, but this performance I did not feel it, Rest in peace kobe and Gia
This song/tribute is extremely sad but I find myself coming back to it sooooo much....THIS PERFORMANCE IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE 30YRS OF LIFE. WOW.......Jennifer Hudson is literally untouchable and has always been in a league of her own, but this performance......damn.
This a extremely rare occasion where a voice and performance sent chills throughout my body to the point where I couldn’t move. She definitely is one the greatest of all time. Still very sad to see Kobe and the other passengers die so tragically.
@@rowangraves7327 Hmm I didn't find Mr. Porter's rendition but I did find Nat King Cole's rendition, which sounds just like the rendition Donny sang. Thanks for that
Jennifer pay such a beautiful tribute to Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant. Lord, Jennifer can pay a beautiful tribute to Kobe and Gianna Bryant. Her voice touches you deep within your soul. Such a moving tribute .
I listen to it about 20 times a month +. No lie. When someone is heavy on my heart or bad news pops up this song just does all the things for me. The prayer binds that thang in the end!
