Jennifer Hudson rounds out her Halloween show by performing “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” after kicking off the episode by revealing her “Sister Act”-inspired costume. Earlier in the show, JHud performed a medley of songs from the film franchise starring Whoopi Goldberg.

It blows my mind that she ended up in 7th place on American Idol, but she has had tremendous success in the entertainment industry! She’s an EGOT winner! She’s a successful recording artist! She WON The Voice UK! And now she’s got her own talk show! WOW! She’s living proof that you should never give up on your dreams!

What a beautiful rendition. Brings me to tears. It was my Auntie Robin's staple song in church and I looked forward to every time she sang it when I was a child. She lost her fight with cancer a number of years ago, so thanks for the great memory.
