Shop Basketball inspired shirts: koolart2.etsy.com Jeremy Lin did the impossible in 2012. He had improved so much in the span of very few days. Here is some of the best highlights from him during that small period.
That game winner in Toronto just showed how much of a sensation he was everywhere and not just New York, imagine your home stadium cheering for the guy who just iced y’all, crazy.
Man Linsanity was fun. Lin was looking like a superstar. To bad it didn't last long but that was the most fun storyline all year. Lin was going off on the league.
The sequence starting at 7:36 just gives me goosebumps. They finally get him the ball and he looks back at the coach as if to say "coach don't worry I've got this". The crowd in Toronto was cheering him so loudly for a second I thought they were in New York. People love clutch performers ...... and this guy was clutch.
@@CoProProduction ... That was debated & discussed long ago. It was said that Calderon gave him space because if he got closer to Lin, Lin might blow right by him towards the basket, because Lin had one of the highest 1st-step metrics when he entered the NBA only a couple years earlier, of which he had already gotten cut 2 times before NY & had not played that many games yet, maybe only nearly one season's worth. Plus, Lin was already running around fast, so Calderon & Raptors knew how fast Lin ran. So there wasn't much to do in the heat of that moment & staying back safely guarding the lane was what Calderon could only have quickly thought of at that point. And I think Jeremy only had one other 3-pointer before this one, so that was another reason Calderon stayed back because he wasn't thinking of Jeremy doing a 3-point ... of which the ball famously fell in.
@@goatedjus the probability that Lin would have been better for the knicks than melo is greater. Melo is just an egotistical player with attitude problems.
Watching back at Lin is giving me goosebumps. Got me a little emotional not gonna lie. Especially watching Toronto cheer for a guy that just iced the game on your own team…sheesh
Never get Tired of Lin! He was an Awesome force for the Knicks and many teams after that! Also he refined his Game later becoming a Great 3 point shooter.
Absolutely his fan, I'm just dissapointed and mad that Melo Ruined his career, i hope he goes back and bounce back. And the critics will leave him alone.
@@awesomeokayed6980 well you know, Carmelo was happy on Camera but behind, he was demanding to trade Lin, and their coach "D' Antoni" bc of the pick and rolls given to lin. And yeah they changed coach who prefer isolation and traded Lin.
@@awesomeokayed6980 basically the star on their team (melo) got injured, so lin finally got the chance to shine, and he did brighter than anyone thought he would. Then when melo came back he was jealous of the spotlight and for the next season said he wouldn't sign a new contract if lin stayed, so they had to let lin go.
Dude lin was playing so fucking good holy if only he could have kept this momentum going who knows how much potential he could have unlocked. Rip linsanity
Fr though, people that don’t understand the game don’t see just how much potential this kid had, yes he was only 22 and in his second year in the NBA with literally very little playing time before that! His IQ, ability to read the game. He was very unique athlete. People say he wasn’t the best athlete, but that’s because he’s Asian I’m just being honest about that one. There’s no way you can watch his highlights throughout his career and say he wasn’t a great athlete! Just look how great he was at slashing and hanging in the air, changing directions, his speed and change of speed, everything. Lin literally had the potential to have everything! He could pass, decent shot and if he had made it more consistent from 3 would have literally been unstoppable. Could slash, could dish, great vision, great in the pick and roll, so smart, he literally had it all as a point guard. Perfect textbook point guard in his prime, and was the best team player, good person, made everyone better, he has the ability to run off on everyone and it instantly made the team thrive off of his energy! What he had is so rare in sports and is especially rare now a days in the NBA with star players… He was a natural leader, and was great guy. Always asking questions, always trying to learn and get better, people don’t listen to what the coaches that meshed with had to say about him, especially in his early years in the NBA…
Linsanity was almost like a relationship that’s doomed to fail from the start he clearly deserved to at least prove he could continue his performance in the starting lineup but I also understand that no matter how unfair it seems for better or worse that was carmelos team and with that huge contract they gave him and just the fact that he’s Carmelo they did owe it to him to hand the reigns back to him
At the time, I was not an NBA watcher but I know all about Linsanity back in 2012 and that speaks volumes of the impact he had during his glory run. I am truly happy he won a ring against the Warriors.
It’s wild Lin was only a superstar for a couple months but he’s cemented himself as an NBA legend with that. (Ofc he was a very solid player outside of this span too)
Kobe’s “trash talk” is actually him motivating Lin. Listen to his other stories of his trash talks where the intent was to push the other player (or to make them nervous).
Great time living in NYC at this time the energy was different. Smartphones weren’t super popular yet so all you saw on the streets were people with the newspaper with Linsanity in front.

Lin was the master of the slow step finishes, something that Doncic, Jokic, and SGA do so consistently. This was to throw off the timing of the shot blocker.
Really goes to show, confidence is the MOST IMPORTANT thing in the NBA. Plenty of players in the NBA are skilled enough to be stars, they have what it takes, they wouldn't be in the league if they didn't. It just takes an almost otherworldly amount of mental fortitude to play at such a high level with so much media attention and so many distractions, to stay on your game and to stay in that confident mindset is so difficult when you're under a massive magnifying glass. Everyone talking about you, commenting on your game, making you second guess yourself, and it's only gotten worse in the era of social media. I mean look at guys like Ben Simmons. His confidence is completely destroyed, he's a shell of his former self since that Atlanta series. I feel bad for Jeremy, he literally went from completely unknown, to, practically overnight, being crowned the next superstar of the NBA's most valuable franchise. He wasn't ready for that type of pressure, and who can blame him? Who on earth would be ready for something like that? He had no time to prepare for the amount of exposure he was about to get, the NBA is a cruel place.
The whole team played harder when Lin took the reigns, there was actually a chance he would find you on a cut or a drive as opposed to Melo where they all knew he was gonna take a tough shot then jog back on defense.
Linsanity was super excitement for a while. Cuz, once other teams new how good he is then, they gonna do whatever it take to shut him down. So, that's why every Cinderella story don't last long.
That game winner in Toronto is probably his most iconic clip, after the one where hes waving off Kobe. But to me, the fact that he led the crazy comeback leading up to that makes it even more wild. Man was HOOPING
I think me and lin have the same playstyle and mentality we both ball dominant player from point guard position but i loose it everytime when my teammate want the ball
