Jeremy McGrath, Mike Brown, Doug Dubach and other living legends lined up to race the Pasha Racing 50+ 125 Pro Class at the 38TH ANNUAL DUBYA WORLD VET MX CHAMPIONSHIPS
Agree 100%… But 20 years from now somebody’s going to be saying man that smell and sound of a four stroke is some thing the electric bikes will never have four strokes forever😅😢
I could almost hear David Bailey's and Art Eckman's voices in my head.. "McGrath takes the checkered" :') Motocross and Supercross had its Prime in the 90s...best decade ever.
I totally agree with you. In my case, living in Córdoba, Argentina, I watched all the AMA SX and National MX races on ESPN. McGrath, Cooper, Larocco, Stanton, Kiedrowski, Emig...ufff. Golden age!!
@@carljames4992 Not a fan of when that day comes, but if electric bikes keep places open I’m all for it. So many trails and public riding areas are constantly being shut down. Hopefully electric bikes can curb that before there’s nowhere to ride.
I don't think the man skipped a beat. I'm pretty sure there are NOT many days in a year that Jeremy is not on a motorcycle. I talked to him once for a while online actually, super nice man.
Dubach is 60 yrs. young and still kick in ass He seems to never get credit where credit is clearly due, he and his team helped me for many years in CMC races and he went onto become the legend Dr D and McGrath is the man of the 90s and super cool person also !!!
Any McGrath fans here if you haven't already, go check out his race a couple years ago at Mammoth Motocross on his 91 Kx500, and then did two other classes same day on his 450. And it was actually the first time his daughter has ever seen him race! Just search McGrath Mammoth
Thx, will check it out. My favorite video of him was when he went to the US Open in Vegas. Thge used Offspring on the audio, and it was quite well done. The Lightning Striks series was also top notch. MC has a style that nobody has duplicated, and we used to love when he made triples out of jumps that were not meant to be triples during practice. It was epic. Thx for the info, gonna go see it now.
I had the pleasure of racing Supercross and Motocross with Jeremy in 95 and 96. He was just on another level that's all you could say. He probably didn't even train for this and came out and performed amazingly. I can tell you riding a motocross bike around the track is the most exhausting experience you'll ever have until you start running and getting your cardio up. This was impressive and great for Mac's daughter to see.
I'm not even a minute in, and this clip shows why motocross is one of the greatest sports ever. An icon like Jeremy can just line up and shoot the shit like any local dude. It's like Michael Jordan showing up at a local basketball court and everybody is just chill with it.
It brings joy to my heart seeing & hearing 2 strokes race again. Wish I could smell them too! Awesome to see McGrath leading the pack still. I sure do miss riding. Perhaps I’ll be able to again one day. Such a great sport!
Well I'm 68 years old and I still ride a 2 stroke KDX 200 1984. Yeah, there's something about the sounds ,smells and roosting of a 2 stroke. Back when Gene Richey owned Red Bud me and a bunch of the guys from school used to live up there.....so to speak. I not near as fast as I was but, I still sound great!! WFO!!
Awesome Brother 🤘🏻 🏁 Way Cool 😎 I'm 57 and still shred Motocross! Really like the way McGrath "The King "and other..... Sorry but older Guys are still Killing it!! Hell Ya 🏁☠️🏁☠️🏁 Thanks 🏁 Hey We all look 20yrs old with are Helmets on! Lol 😂
I always say there are a lot of fast 50 years olds out there flying under the radar. Back in the mid 70s to mid 80s they would usually have two 40 rider gates full in the novice classes, and a full gate of each amateur and expert. Finally got my first bike a few months ago 18 years after raising my kids, and my 50 something dad bod comes off the track and these kids go dam you are fast old man.
One of the greatest memories I have is hearing and smelling those sweet two strokes fire up on the line through the morning fog at Southwick Massachusetts for morning practice and seeing guys like Joe Waddington, JoJo Keller, Jim Meenan, Badger, Dave Rudnicki, Todd Richotte and the rest of the experts being able to be the first one's out on a perfectly groomed track. Even now I can close my eyes and see it as if it were yesterday and besides a gorgeous woman naked it's the most beautiful thing in the world.
Factory 2-Strokes were the bomb back then. I remember the smell of the VP, and the Brapppp sound unlike any non-Factory bike as they hit it to clear a triple. It was amazing to see in person, and hear. I hated going to 4-Strokes, bvut at the time I bought a Yamaha 426, which was the start of the 450's. I never liked riding it as much as a 2 Stroke, but I bought it because they were outlawing the 2 Strokes and I wanted to be ahead of the curve.
Sometimes it's just nice to have consistency in your life. 2022 and Jeremy is still winning! (or near enough to) Sweet thumbs and up and nod of his head as he completed the first lap too :) Thanks for the video.
I was standing at the second to last turn before finish line and to say watching these guys pass only feet away was incredible would be an understatement. Absolute studs !!!!
Doug was and still is one hell of a rider. I don't know for a fact but I think he might be the winningest vet rider + before the 4 strokes invader and they had their own 4stroke nationals he won a ton of them too
Guys, HERE is The Savior HalleluYAH translates “Praise ye YaH” YaH is The Heavenly Father YaH arrives via the TENT OF MEETING YaH was Who they Crucified for our sins ** NO FEMALE INVOLVED WHATSOEVER ** - Hebrew Book of Isaiah Isaiah 42:8 "I am YaH; that is my Name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. Isaiah 43:11 I, I am YAH, and there is no other Savior but Me. Isaiah 45:5 I am YaH, and there is none else.
I had a hat back in the day it had Jeremy McGrath's signature stitched into it and the number one with the Honda that was one of my prized possessions thank you for the Memories
@Peter Alexander l used to race back when l was young and that smell gave me butterflies, l guess because l was anxious or scared or maybe both. When l crank up my chainsaw l get the same feelings today. Crazy!!!
I was a big fan of his, and me and my buddies went to 2 Vegas US Open Sx's, and at the Studio 54 After Party, I went to the bar to get a beer, and MC was arm locked with Troy Lee, well when MC walked up, he bumped into me by accident, and he insisted in buying me a beer, but it was Red Bull Sponsored, so he got me a Red bull and Marandin Vodka instead. That became my fav drink. I started chatting with him, and he invited me up to the 2nd floor, where only the riders and their family/friends could go. I spent that night hanging out with legends, and I was in awe of MC's kindness and how funny he was, Troy lee too. I'll never forget that night, and my respect for him grew quite a bit that night, even though he was my #1 prior. I used to spend hours slow-mo'ing the vids of his style, and how he did so many things to save and gain time. Those were fun days, and it was a blast to be in that mix for a night. I got to know Davey Combs and Malcom McCassy a bit at the Atlanta SX's. We used to drive up from Florida each year for 7 straight years. Fun times and once we went there a few times, we got to know Shae Bentlys brother, Brandon. He was awesome and used to take us out in his Hummer, and he knew basically everybody in Atlanta. He was a great host. So much fun. One time as we were driving back to our Hotel, after we said goodnight to Brandon, I drove my truck and felt bad for a homeless guy, so he hopped in the bed of the truck and we drove him into Buckhead, but we also stopped and got some food. It was freezing outside, and as we got near the hotel about an hour later, I saw that guy in my mirror! I completely forgot!!! We were lauging so hard that night. I dropped him where he wanted to go after that! (There may have been alcoghol involved) Also, we learned the 2nd last time that those frozen shakes you can buy all over Atlanta are the BEST thing in the World for hangovers. Anyway, just sharing some of my favorite times being aroiund that crowd. Solid people, all of them.
Holy moly, Doug's YZ 150 pulled away from MC on the straight like he was standing still 😲. That's what MC gets for using a 125 when everyone else is running big bores🤣
Wow that is amazing I grew up watching Jeremy McGrath dominate the world of dirt bikes. I believe he used to live in canyon lake and had his own track out here in Good Old lake Elsinore California. So funny was just commenting about Jeremy McGrath the other day somebody said James Stewart was the best dirt bike rider ever I beg to differ I made a comment and said Jeremy McGrath is the best dirt bike rider ever good to see you're still riding 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Everyone has their own favorite riders...but RC is the best dirtbike rider in the sports history by a wide margin...love MC and Stew but RC smoked both of them regularly....either way it was it was GREAT racing and definitely the golden era of moto/supercross. Glad to have seen it in real time
@@joebuss8835 are You kidding? RC was beating McGrath in 2001. RC was 22 years old... McGrath was 30 years old and Not in his Prime anymore, when Carmichael was able to Beat him finally. Carmichael got his ass kicked in 99 and 2000. McGrath in 94-96 was unbeatable. Best rider ever.
