Jeremy Paxman in direct opposition to over 2 dozen teaspoons of dangerous sugar in one cup of Coke sold in cinemas. Head of Coke Europe had no defense against the allegations, unmissable viewing.
No, he's a businessman. If you don't like Coca-cola, or are offended by it for whatever woke reason, don't buy it. We live in a free society. Coca-cola should put however much sugar in their drinks as they want if it makes it delicious and makes them more money. I love Coca-cola, knowing full wealth that it's not healthy but it's my choice. A psychopath tends to be someone who causes another harm without their consent. Coca-cola is a business and by a mile the most popular drinks business on the planet. Now let me go fill my glass full of coke :)
I would respect him if he said "my job is to sell coke, let the government or whoever take care of obesity" instead of that "we are focused on solving it" bullshit
The levels of sugar added to drinks is to make them addictive. Sugar is proven to be as addictive as cocaine, which funnily enough is also included in cola.
magijack The smoothies I make aren't owned by Coca-Cola. :-D Fruit juices are ok in moderation. If people really want to be healthy they will drink home made green juices. That is health in a glass.
Why doesn't he be honest? He should say, "yeah? Cola has lots of sugar in it. And? Don't like it? Don't drink it! Who cares? What are moaning at me for?"
How much butter or cream or sugar goes into your takeaway or any restaurant dining? Coke is unhealthy, very intelligent interview, really cleared it up for me.
It's not about the calories, it is about sugar, something the body struggles to process in excess quantities. A high calorie diet isn't necessarily bad for you.
Yes you are right. He isn’t being honest by trying to compare the amount of calories in a coke to a cappuccino or crossiant.. It’s completely different!
The only thing I like about soda is when i'm really thirsty I like that it burns my throat on it's way down to quench my thirst. Otherwise i'm not a fan of drinking soda ... I just need that occasional burn. Green tea + water is good enough for me.
Do you think people know how much sugar is in it 🤔 well if they have taste buds it's not too difficult to figure out, people make choices no point going after the person selling it, people will still choose to have it fully aware of the sugar inside
I hate stuff like this. You either choose to drink coke or not. It's not like people pick up a can of coke thinking it's going to be beneficial towards his or her health, it's clearly an unhealthy drink but it's enjoyable. It's not coke's fault that people are obese, it's the people that simply choose to drink it.
Ok then, so change the profile of those products and sell them like you would sell a cigarette, because they are as dangerous. You can't be allowed to legally sell poison to children!
@@jonesyabelar1885 I would not go that far. I believe that Coke can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet but it has to be in strict moderation, like enjoying a coke once a month in the sunshine as a treat. The problem is parents giving it to kids to drink every single day absolutely bombarding their body with sugar
1:18 "35 grams, which is 6 teaspoons of sugar which is about the same amount of calories like a cappuccino" I love how he deflects by talking about calories and then equating it to a cappuccino. But most people, or the majority don't put 6 teaspoons of sugar in a cappuccino. 🤡 Sugar is evil the calories not as much. No wonder he's the CEO now, slick salesman.
@@martineyles Drinking orange juice by itself is not great, however, to offset the sugar, eating it is entirely different. I don't know the exact science but if you look on here or tiktok it's the fiber of the fruit that helps the body absorb it differently and your blood sugar levels WON'T spike. Drinking v. eating, very different.
Well, we are born in a world full of options and we are free to choose from those wide variety of options whether it's food or drinks. He does have a point though, it's really up to the people whether to consume it or not given the information and being aware of how unhealthy it is.
If someone wants to enjoy coke then he should. ... but be careful not too too too much that's the deal no big deal care for yourself care for your health. .be very balance in your eating
Now I think option is given to consumer to choose what he wants...High calories coke is there...Medium ....and Zero calories coke is available.......Excellent...now it depends on consumer choice what he select for himself....RGS...
Wah. If you can't read a label and make a choice, that's a personal problem. If you don't want it, don't drink it. And if you have kids, don't get them started on it in the first place. Life's not that difficult.
When you compare what he is saying in this interview to what Dr James Lustig says about sugar it’s very interesting. The coke CEO is trying to compare coke and all its sugar to having the same calories as half a crossiant or cappuccino so therefore it’s ok.. no.. Look at how sugar is metabolised by the body.. It is not the same as when you eat a crossiant or have a cappuccino
He should have compared it to fruit juice, which is just as sugary and acidic. Yes it has vitamins, but your dentist and your doctor will probably recommend you don't drink too much either.
Coke still has the same sugar. Pepsi in pubs has the same sugar, but regular Pepsi in bottles in the UK now has a mixture of sugar, Acesulfame K and Sucralose.
So if we go by CEO logic, selling cocaine, ganja should be legal, just label them"it's dangerous for your health-it's your choice to consume it" and open few rehabilitation centres. All clean and legal.
Not very fair to ask him all these questions. It is obvious that there is a lot of sugar in coke. That is a fact and we all know that, he doesn't even deny it. People should monitor their own bodies. The only people responsible for obesity are the people who are obese.
You are wrong, they are too big to use toxic crap and let us "deal with it". They managed to put their crappy products in every hole in this planet, seriously! You can find this crap nearly everywhere, and average people reason "it's legal, therefore cannot be that bad". And children drink it like water, Look for organic pops and see the difference. Realize companies like coca cola are part of the main problem! It should be illegal for them to use toxic ingredients (like refined sugar) in all products! Really, there isn't even a single product that is not extremely toxic from this company! Not even the bottled water... they are already in free falling, my friend! But those giants would rather take the whole world with them then let us go healthy and free! See the movie "revolver" to understand who's behind all this!
bennydman666 Yes, they are! We wouldn't care if this brand was selling poisonous drinks in the back of somebody's house, for dozens of customers. They are doing in a world wide scale. Nobody can compete with them, not because they are good, but because they buy so much toxic ingredients that their product is the cheapest around! The goal was never profit - even though those CEOs would like to think so - but human health! If they can't understand this, then they should continue on their path of bankruptcy while organic companies take over!
Coke is only so famous because people buy their products. Most people know what is it Coke but continue to buy it and those who don't know what is in it are just ignorant. It is not as bad as you are making it out to be. Lastly, my point still stands that Coke are not forcing anyone to drink their products.
"It's not as bad as you are making out to be"? Sorry but you are wrong, these products are part of the downfall of humans! They are forcing us to drink their products by employing their economic power; they infiltrated our music, movie and game industry and cleverly design subliminal ways to keep the interest in their poison alive. It's only programming, the most expensive machine ever built to keep us ingesting deadly substances. Refined sugar is lethal, aspartame is lethal! A truly organic diet turns disease obsolete; I'm living proof of that, When you feel the taste of an organic soda, you will see the difference!
I don't wish to defend Coca Cola but this interview is bullshit. The guy asking the questions is heavily biased and the guy defending is completely inept. Paxman comparing sugar in tea to a super sized Coke doesn't take into account that you might typically drink several cups of tea a day and maybe 4-5 super sized Cokes a year depending on how often you go to the cinema or other event. Not only that but the supersize soft drink cups usually are one third ice. Anything in moderation is OK. As long as you understand this you'll be fine. How pathetic is the guy who has uploaded this? Completely editing out the bits that don't help his propaganda. Shameful.
Please shut up, if you're a tea addict you maybe drink 10 cups of tea a day, that's equivalent to 15 packages of sugar that's almost 1coke. Lot's of kids drink 1 coke a day nog 3 big cokes a a Year. No teenagers realise how bad this stuff is for them and that's of course what Coca Cola wants. They don't want you too know how bad their stuff is so you are going to stop buying it. They spend billions of euros a year on advertising. You are just too capitalistic, please grow some brains!
Many people drink 10+ cans of coke a day. Not a single drop of water. That adds up to well more than a large from the cinema. You're completely ignorant if you think drinking soda at all isn't detrimental to your health and well being
Is this reporter still alive for exposing the truth? Or was he just working with Coca-Cola to revealing their plans and enhance the craft with sigil magic?
andrea jackson Well i drink it, i dont like it, it doesnt taste like Coke, or Fanta, when it comes to food i eat natural things, they re not like the processed food for sure, but i prefer being healthy rather than being a TOFI .. ( Thin on the Outside, Fat Inside )
+cheesesteakphilly Because they don't say anything worthwhile anyway, they just spend the entire time trying to dodge the questions. Tell me one valid point the coke guy made to justify the amount of sugar in the coke.
this videos is absurd, all the info of cocacola is on the can. Is your resposability see it or not. This report the unique thing that do is throwing sugar bags whichout know the grams that have each other.
