You can tell Jermaine doesn’t know anything. Southgate in euro 2020 changed the formation mid tournament and went to a back 3 and got England to the final. It needs to happen. What’s ridiculous is him playing trippier over Trent. And I say that as a Newcastle fan. Trippier has been diabolical

But a panicked escision to change formation mid tournament is not a good thing. Southgate is too clueless as to how to make the team work in the previous formation. Its southgates fault, not the formations

The formation change is the right thing to do, what isn’t right is playing Trippier at RWB over Trent, that is insanity. Trippier looks like he can barely run and we’re gonna play him in the most demanding position, awful

He should be doing it because what England has been doing hasn't worked despite changing the talented players we have. Without a fit left back, three at the back should have been done from the start to get balance in the team and Foden in a more natural position.

As the training is watched and reported on by the media, its very unlikely we have been training this formation. The issues are negative play & wrong team selection. This formation change wont address that

He's been playing players out of position from day one, i couldn't care if Kane went in goal and pickford went upfront with Watkins. As long as we win that's all that matters. It's pointless pulling your hair out (so to speak) stressing why's he playing there out of position etc Gareth is oblivious to the noise and is going to do what he wants to do regardless of the end result. Us fans have just got to go with his Method of madness and hope for the best.....because it's Football...you just never know!

we did this at Euro 2020, switched to this system in the knockouts, it got us to the final. Have some faith, and don’t listen to the likes of Jermaine who haven’t got a clue and won nothing.

At the end of the day we're going into this game as underdogs so why not change things?Doesn't matter that we haven't done it yet, we rotated formations a lot in the last Euros and look how well that went. But I do agree that we need personnel changes, Palmer should be starting and Shaw is available again

Changing to a back-3 with two wingbacks is a sign of Southgate's desperation because it's his offensive setup that hasn't been working. England needs pace & width upfront and playing Foden, Kane & Bellingham does not provide either, we will have the three of them all coming short and wanting to play as a #10

So in a 3 with Wingbacks it makes total sense as unfortunate as it is for his pride, suck it up and blame ya muppet manager. Secondly Tripps at RWB is a FARCE. The man should never play for England again, hes washed up. You change to a formation that gets the 100% best out of TAA as a RWB with 3 at the back helping his defensive frailties and not start him?
