Black Jersey Giants are cool, raised them years ago. They are cool birds to have. You'll learn raising them that the first 6 months all they grow is bone. When the finish out they are like small turkeys. I've switched over to brahmas because they're more gentle. Glad to see someone growing them. Good luck and God bless.
you're the first person to mention the BJG being broody, that's one of the reasons we chose this breed to raise; i haven't found a reason not to, they're a great easy chicken to raise. so pretty!
