Speaking as an X hairdresser who used to use Henna way back in the day you have some really good hints and tips here people seem to always overlook not letting metal touch henna, they also seem to overlook keeping warm both very important points if you want success, thanks for the great video I hope it reaches many people so they will have much better success
I love this brand its SO easy to apply (I thin it out to yougert consistency and put the henna in a plastic bottle w/nozzle. If you're hair dries while applying use distilled water in a fine mist spray bottle). I just wish I knew about this when I was younger :) The 2-step (to cover the grey) takes me about 7 hours from beginning to end but its well worth it!
I just did my light mountain henna the other day and really love the results. I was going for burgandy which is pretty nice but I really love your red color too, it is lovely!
Jesse thank you so much for this wonderful video I'm a natural redhead and I've decided to go henna because I need a little touch up here and there especially in the summertime when the Sun makes my hair a bit lighter and all those little tips from the heat to the metal to the hours you have to keep the color sitting is very informative for me. Also, you are straight to the point and you don't wander all over the place or repeat like other videos I'm glad I found you. I have the lightest red however I'm going to wait until I have a day off to do my hair since 3 and 1/2 hours to sit for the color to develop and then four for the actual application on your hair give or take some time depending on your test right.
Thanks Jesse, love your hair! Thanks for the useful tips and information. I'm a natural redhead and returning to henna after my stylist quoted nearly $300 to touch up my roots! Just cannot afford that, especially in these weird times. I do like that it's a natural product and I don't have chemicals sitting on my scalp. And definitely henna is an effective conditioner. It's messy but worth it. Still experimenting but know I will hit upon the ultimate tint eventually. Rock on!
great video! i just did my first henna with Light Mountain in Red, and i love it. Since i don't have a microwave, i put my distilled water in a pyrex bowl and then put that bowl in a pan of water on the stove.
Hi, Lindsey! I don't own a microwave earlier! are you saying you put a pyrex bowl with water in it, INSIDE of a metal pot and put it on the stove, and boiled it that way?
My hair is similar to yours! I am two years strong. I think it even makes it grow faster, (or at least the roots say so.) I used to mix mine with manic panic to get a deep wine color. I have let it fade to the natural henna red, and will be trying Light Mountain Auburn next.
I am about to dye my hair medium brown for the first time with this product. I have everything ready but is better to watch the instructions and sugerences. Thank you for the video and wish me good luck.
solodiamante Forever hey I was just wondering how did it work out for you? Because I have black hair and I want to go either red or brown using this henna..so yr review would be very appreciated 😊
If I have darker ends (from henna as well) but, they do not fade. Will using the "Red" over them, make them red too? I've henna'd my hair for so many years, And my hair is very long, so my lengths stay much darker. Thanks@!
I used henna for a few years, at first looked great, but overtime dried out my hair out and became REALLY coarse, and even though since the beginning I added oils, coconut milk ,etc... didn't help. The worst part about henna is...if you decide to go back to regular hair dyes, YOU CAN'T! You have to wait forever for the henna to wash out from your hair, which takes FOREVER!!!. Has been more than one full year since I quit, and my hair still orangish color. Never doing again :-(
Same- I wonder if I got fake henna, because it RUINED my hair. I couldn't even comb it after one application. And I tried to be careful about sourcing.
테이니키타 I put the rest of mine into a ziplock and then freeze, when I need it again I let the bag thaw in a bowl or something that's filled with hot water, and it still works really well and doesn't lose pigment
@@brokenhearted998 I've been using henna for 6 years. I always mix the whole package and divide by 2 then use half to do my roots, freeze the other half. I just thaw it when I need to do my roots again. (every 5-6 weeks)
Adel L Yes, the henna will react with metal and it won't turn out right. Just be careful mixing your henna and securing your hair with the henna on it. After its washed out you can style your hair with metals (Bobby pins, clips..)
I used light brown last night and I followed the directions carefully. To my surprise the color didn't do anything to my natural hair. My greys are still visible and my roots are still dark. Can you please advice me what I can do ?
Have you ever put this red henna on your eyebrows? Also, what color do you think this henna would turn very light blonde hair? And how many boxes of henna did it take to cover all of your hair?
Hi, Jesse's Mama here. We just did another commercial for these guys and on Jesse's channel (Jesse Sage) doing my hair. I love henna. Don't know about light blonde hair, but I use red on my eyebrows as well. 1 box was enough for Jesse Sage's hair when it was long. It is short now. On the new commercial we talk about that I get 3 colorings out of 1 box. Now that it has been on my hair for so many years, that whole length doesn't need as much. So, I mix a box, use about half all over, then freeze FLAT in two zip lock bags. The next two times, I will use one of those for the first few inches, then pull through the last hour or so. Three colorings for about $4.00!!! Enjoy.
ANNET SANCHEZ she probably used 1 box. You do receive quite a bit of henna for one batch. If you have shoulder length hair ., expect to use 1/2 the bag and save the rest of the henna to dye your hair in the next 4-6weeks
Is it necessary to do the strand test every time? I'm using the same color over again and I don't have a lot of extra time to go through the strand test process...
I don't understand why the instructions tell you not to leave it on overnight, AND not to use metal spoons or containers. Everything I've ever read about all-natural henna is that you can do both of those things with no problems.
I used a regular metal spoon to get the henna out of my stainless steel whisk. I didn't get a weird reaction at all. Just beautiful red. Didn't remove my earrings either. I used stainless steel now to mix it in.
How long does the shipping take on this product, if I ordered this from your website, I have been hearing some things about the shipping taking ages for it to arrive help please
Savannah Fulkerson she's not from the company. Shipping can take 2 weeks or longer, depending were your located. Id Google for that answer, since she's a customer, not from the company.
Perhaps use a lavaliere mic next time ... your sound is not good. Sometimes, it is too low (and the music is loud) and others too loud and brassy. If you're using a mobile device to record with, look into a condenser mic.
Beautiful hair and great tips EXCEPT the microwaving of the water. Microwaved anything is so very bad for us and we're about to put it ON our heads. Instead, go to your local thrift shop and purchase/use a glass Corelle pot to heat up water on the stove. Happy henna y'all!!
She made it seem harder than it is. I used to use Henna (Colora brand) when I was a kid (13) regularly. My mother let me and I'd do it myself whenever I wanted it was so easy. Maybe Colora Henna is easier b/c all i did was add it to a bowl w/ hot water, mix it w/ a paintbrush but it on my hair the night before school, leave it for a bit and rinse it out.
