What he says about Hulk Hogan is absolutely right. People see Jesse Ventura an see a wrestler, a politician, I see him as a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus!
I was twelve when this came out, I had to say my dad sent me to pick it up from the local video store . Waiting for folks to go to bed after the family movie so I could watch it 😁 good times
you can still watch many great movies you never seen before from the 80s....and 70s..... im binge watching all types of 70s films right now. the 70s are overlooked
I bet that around 99% of people of different ages, who were watching those movies at the time, would say exactly the same thing... And guess what, all 99% of them would be right...
That's the problem with hollywood. Always trying to recapture that magic and ruining legacies while they are at it. Hollywood is like a crack addict chasing that first hit.
@@chakko007 Yeah, I heard when it first came out it wasn't very good, but since I've seen all the other ones, I felt "obligated" to watch this one...lol. Yes, the original still holds up over all of them!!
U can not beat the first predator movie, all the cast, atmosphere and everything else was perfect. This was a classic movie, no matter how many times it comes on TV u still end up watching it. It's a shame predator 2 didn't live up to this standard.
Brilliant movie. 2 was not as good but still okay. The vs Aliens ones were dreadful. I will say, though, there was a version called 'Predators' which is definitely worth a watch. Original still the best, though - absolute classic.
@@risefromyourpain think predators was better then that, I watched the 2018 one in 4d in cinema so the experience was unique, but the movie could have been much better
he was so alpha so driven and so very right about hulk hogan ... also i noted adhd-ish with the constant movement in this clip .. i stil admire jesse the body ventura and his outspokeness .
That ain't ADHD. He focuses. Injuries from wrestling, from combat, and just plain age give him the restless quivering. His mind is still sharp as a tack, and his concentration is far better than my concussed and fractured head is capable of, and he's got an easy 15-20 years on me.
Assuming you are describing Chris Kyle your right. But if you are describing Jesse ? A legend in his own mind along with a few jesse butt kissers. But he did set the bar on being a coward if that helps.
Jesse was amazing around children! I remember meeting him when I was about 8 years old. My school was closed on a particular Friday, so my mom had me sit in my grandmother's class room. She taught at a special needs school and I ended up helping a 7 year old girl name Jade figure out a puzzle she never was able to finish before. Then I heard the unmistakable voice of Jesse "The Body" Ventura (I was already a wrestling fan at that time), then I got a bigger surprise when Jade called out "daddy!" I got to hang out with Jesse and Jade for over an hour! It was one of the best memories of my childhood! Jesse helped me build an amazing collection of wrestler autographs ( including names like Jesse, Hogan, Macho, Road Warriors, Scott Hall), a copy of Predator on VHS with the sleeve signed (by Arnold, Jesse, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke, Kevin Hall, Sonny Landham, Richard Chaves, and Elpidia Carrillo) a copy of The Running Man with the sleeve signed (by Arnold, Jesse, Maria Alonso, Jim Brown, Tanaka, and Richard Dawson), several personal cards for Xmas and bdays from Jesse .. then when I joined the USAF in the mid 90s, my mom sold the entire collection without asking me!
What an awesome interview I love Jesse he has the speech impediment of a genius he's also bopping up and down because he is a genius an exceptional individual still is to this day😎
@@detectiveh7399 Your opinion is just about as important as your RU-vid persona Meaningless go back under the rock that you came from Jesse was a governor and A navel underwater demolition seal
It's amazing to watch this back considering Jesse thought he was going to be a big star in the movies. That didn't happen, but he will always have the awesome Predator to look back on.
javier rivera I wish he was kept in the film longer. He should have switched to Billy. Still Blaine but is one the last to go and stand up to the predator like Billy
If I'm not mistaken, Ventura got into acting so he could get his S.A.G. card and get health insurance a lot cheaper. The other benefit of his SAG card was that he would also get royalties on all the WWF videos being released. (The '80's VCR and movie rental business was just starting to boom).
To this day being born in 84" when I watch this movie especially alone it gets me "in" the movie and invested by the end you're at the edge of your seat. Amazing film/cast etc
One of the Top 10 Best Action Scifi movies of ALL times ! That movie is a LEGEND ! Brilliant casting, amazing movie score 🎶 ,fantastic script, make up effects are breathtaking and even in 2020 they are masterpiece and NOT at the last place the movie director - a total perfectionist !
Probably ADD or ADHD. I have ADD and I do the same what jesse does. I cant sit still.. I also have a thousand thoughts going through my brain as well haha
@@scottmcgeachie5146 Same, I also have way too much energy and intesity, some people dont like it on a subconsious level or feel threatened Im not sure what it is... its annoying, but they dont understand or wont even after years of knowing them.
Who'd ever thought back then that the man who said lines in this movie like: "This stuff will turn you into a sexual tyranasaurus" would go on to become a Mayor and the Governor of Minesota one day. The man is hyper intelligent, not just muscle. He always had brawn AND brains! :)
@O R as a person with chronic pain in several places Ill say this: Its far better to keep moving or something along those lines than to stand still and then move. Not sure if that explains it but in a way the pain becomes less or you get more used to it when you keep sort of like "itch" it, but if you dont move it or touch it for a while and then use it, it hurts more because of the spike of pain rather than the constant drumming which lessens as you get used to it. Not sure if this makes sense
@@cognitivedisability9864 I confirm that, for sure ! I have low back pain since 10 years, and the worse for me is static positions ! The more i move, the more i feel good !
I I always liked Jesse Ventura. So charismatic. All his roles in movies like Blain in Predator, Captain Freedom in Running Man or when he played himself like in No holds Barred....he was just a dirty, charismatic but loveable son of a gun
I couldn't find anything on a kids show. He may have auditioned but didn't get the part, or he may have been talking about taping a couple of wrestling house shows, which usually aired on Saturday mornings back then. (Superstars of Wrestling.....Wrestling Challenge). And possibly joking about his own profession as the WWF was "cartoonish' back then
He would have been even more great in a later time in cinema history , he could have made more film doing more than the strong military type from the 80s
Geez! It’s practically unfathomable to me that anyone would say “…we could tell he is really bright…not just some green beret.” Seriously! That guy has no clue how damn intelligent you have to be in order to make it through an SF program? Those tests aren’t just for physical strength, they test everything about you. Spend an afternoon with those guys maybe before making some stupid comments
Just watched it last night. If i had to guess how many times this would make and im trying to be serious, it would have to be around #32. And im in my 40's.
