I was 16 the first time I got pregnant. I had my daughter when I was 17, and it was NOT easy. Definitely wasn’t planned. Parenting is HARD. You don’t realize how difficult parenthood is until you’re there. It’s not fun and games, it’s a 24/7, every single day of the year type of thing. It’s not a joke, and it isn’t something to be taken lightly. It’s a lot of responsibility and hard work. Please, please, PLEASE. If you are a teenager, and are thinking about having a baby, please wait. Don’t do it. Enjoy your teenage and adolescent years. There will always be time to settle down and start a family, but you will never get your teenage and adolescent years back. Enjoy freedom to do what you want while you can. Be young and have the time of your life! Because when you have a baby, it’s not about you anymore. It’s all about being a mother to your baby, it is all about that new life you created. I am lucky enough to where I have an amazing support system and amazing provider and father for the family I helped create, but if I hadn’t, it would have been even harder than it already was. Teenage pregnancy needs to stop being glamorized. Having a baby is a life changing, hard experience. NOT A TREND!!!

Cierra, you said it perfectly. I was 28yrs and even then it was harder than I ever thought. Babies are beautiful and precious but also exhausting and frustrating. I’m not sure the Teen Mom shows can accurately portray that although honestly I don’t know bc I haven’t watched. You said it so well that you can never get those adolescent and teenage years back. They alone are stressful and hard enough without adding the responsibility of a child. Please young girls....listen to people like Cierra that have been there and older ones that know!!

All these people that try to justify what she’s doing by saying “well she provides for her kids”...no, just no, those kids provide for her. They are the reason they have a big house and a pool and blah blah blah. You can’t have a family channel if you don’t have a family to make videos about and as those kids get older they are going to feel that burden more and more. Camfam on RU-vid is the most heartbreaking stories of teen pregnancy that I’ve watched. Teens wait until your stable in life to have a baby. It’s hard enough raising children without adding pressures such as teen pregnancy onto that.

My mom married my dad when she was 15 (he was 20). I was born just after she turned 16. She was born when her mother was 13, and it just continues back through my family. I broke they cycle. I was 25 when I had my first. My mother was not a good mom. She was a child and a child cannot be a good parent. But she was an amazing grandmother...a baby is not an accessory and it’s not a toy. What we see is not the reality of it.

I’ve met a few teenage moms who are much better grandparents than they are mothers… Not because they don’t love their children and didn’t do their best, but because teenagers aren’t equipped to do their best like that. It’s just not part of the developed brain at that point in life.

Instead of glamorizing teen pregnancy, she could do some videos about how effing hard parenting is. She could talk about topics like sleepless nights, helping sick kids, struggling with homework, worrying if they’re getting enough nutrition or a good education. She could discuss proper punishments and how to follow through with them. She could discuss rewards ideas and when to reward vs when to encourage. She could talk about how to limit technology and social media in a world that’s increasingly digital. She could talk about instilling morals and encouraging empathy. She could cover topics like setting a good example and choosing your battles, healthy ways for them to express their individuality, how to encourage them to be leaders instead of followers. She could talk about doing without things you may want to provide the things your kids need or being a parent and not a friend to them. She could talk about any of this instead of how much success her kids have brought her but the truth is, she probably doesn’t think of any of these things because they’re not about her. JessFam is not a good mom. Being a good parent is freaking hard...there are so many things I worry about every single day and every single decision I make is with my kids in mind.

Here's what teens fail to understand...Situations like the one Jess Fam portrays are the exception NOT the rule. Having a baby will NOT catapult you into fame & money. If you think being a teen parent will get you on a TV show OR help you become a RU-vid Star. There's a .0002% chance that you'll become a star just because you had a baby at 16. There's a 100% chance that you will have a baby that you're not equipped to handle emotionally, physically & financially. Additionally, you will NO longer have the care free, teen life that you once knew. There's NO prom OR going to football games every Friday night because you'll be sleep deprived, covered in spit up & bathing a baby that just had their 9th butt Crack to neck diaper blowout! You'll need a miracle to actually finish high school (many struggle to even obtain their GED) because you'll now have to hold a colicy infant 19 out of 24 hours a day & won't have a hand free to study. Life is NO longer about your needs & ALL about this tiny human. I was 22, had 2 jobs & was in college full-time when I had my 1st child & 31 with a full-time, high demand job when I had my 2nd. Both were equally stressful on the best days & I was fortunate enough to have a good home life & plenty of extended family that were willing to help. So consider the high price for such a tiny shot at fame.

I was 17 when I had my baby, my mom moved to a different town. Left me basically on the streets to fend for myself, with my 10 day old baby(I didn’t even know she was selling the house I found out when the new owners showed up to move in). I didn’t have a drivers license no where to go. But I never had a colicky baby, never had blow out diapers. I got my high school diploma, I got my dental assistant degree. I know that what you wrote is intended to scare teens into not getting pregnant and bravo probably shed some light INTO WHAT COUKD HAPPEN. But my response is to tell those teens that are pregnant is that your life is not over. You can achieve the normal life things after having a baby all your friends are doing too. (Without searching for fame)
@bethyplays
@bethyplays 3 года назад
@@Mama_Bear524 agreed, I was just stating that her comments should say this could happen not that it will. Because three babies later (I’m 29) and none of my babies were ever fussy, were ever colicky or blow out diapers. I got lucky. But being a teen mom even with one was not easy, I mainly stated what happened to me to show teens that it is not all glamorous. You made an excellent point. People think bc she has a little money in the bank that it negates all of the other problematic behavior & terrible choices she makes. Money is a small, tiny part of what it means to be successful especially successful as a parent. The amount of men she’s had in and out of their lives alone in a HUGE problem. Statistics show that when single moms have a swinging door of men in and out of their lives, the chances of their child being abused & sexually molested skyrockets. The whole JessFam situation is sad as hell to me. I don’t see success. I see many, many failures. The amount of money and material things she has matters not one bit to me!
@LeighVee21
@LeighVee21 3 года назад
Amount of men? It was just Drake, who was her husband and father of her three boys, and her current husband, Chris, who she's been with for a very long time...so long that her boys know him to be more their father than their biological father. So... To be her age and to have had only 3 serious relationships, that's better than most can say.
@PethtelLady
@PethtelLady 3 года назад
@@LeighVee21 I don’t know her. I only know what I’ve seen on this channel and from what I’ve seen, I think Josh is spot on with his opinion & his commentary. I hate family vloggers & I loathe parents who exploit their children for fame and fortune. I hate that these “parents” have cameras in their kids faces 24/7 and I hate even more that they upload those videos to the internet because the internet is a vicious place. I’ve seen comment threads where people are making fun of children, calling them names, making fun of their looks and speech impediments.....and this shit is forever. It doesn’t go away. I feel terrible for these children the day they’re able to get online and read some of what has been said about them...and me, a complete stranger, shouldn’t care more about these things than their own parents. That in and of itself is a huge, huge problem but it speaks to the mentality of these chronic child exploiters. For what it’s worth, I thought I heard Josh say she had children with 5 different men. Maybe I misheard that or maybe he was just being facetious. Either way, if I’m wrong about that then, of course, I’ll own that and apologize. What I won’t apologize for are facts and statistics & those show that children with single parents are something like 40 times more likely to be abused when their parent gets a new BF/GF. Not just that....sometimes the step-parents, mother/father figures struggle to bond with their nonbiological children & that can cause a host of other issues. It’s just very sad to me to see the lengths people are willing to go to just to have internet fame & money in the bank.

@@PethtelLady she had her first daughter with her boyfriend Have who she dated for 4 years. They split when Lilia was a few months old. She met Drake, who appeared so involved and loving, and real, but it was a major facade. He had even tattood Lilia and Jess on himself. They got pregnant with twins boys, Kyson and Kaden, they got married. She found out he cheated on her. They divorced. But they went to counseling and tried to work it out, got remarried. Got pregnant with Landen, he didn't change and they divorced. When Landen was about a year or so, she met Chris, who had two kids from his previous marriage. He was very genuine when it came to Jess's kids, and a very involved dad to his children. They ended up getting married, and having a daughter of their own. I do understand the exploitation parts, but he doesn't have all the facts. I think he should watch her before trying to tell others about her life. Does she make good money, yes, but so do her children. Each child has their own account set up and gets paid for the videos as well. Now that is something that not all family vloggers do. Coparenting sucks for the child.. that’s why my husband and I have always prioritized us and say no matter what we will make things work so our kids can have a loving home. We need to renormalize normal households. We need to renormalize families that have parents who are together for 45 years

I didn't know a lot of these things, good info in this video. The other damaging aspect for the 3 boys that are Drake's kids, is that the talking badly about Drake does and will create self-esteem issues for those boys. Drake is still a part of them and they will feel this, it's very much talked about within children's development, and these mothers do not understand the ramifications for the kids. When Jess came out with her Just Jess channel, that was just a prime example of her not understanding any level of privacy. You can't give every detail of your life, where you go, aerial shots of her home, it's actually very similar to Teen Mom filming. Hopefully, no additional harm comes from strangers and these kids come out somewhat ok

This is not an opportunity for exploitation to produce a better life for the children you brought in to this world - this is a promise- This is a full-time, lifelong, unconditional, hard- working, clean earning commitment - for the rest of their lives and yours. They are watching your every move. The amount of opportunities that I turned down that would have been good for myself but not necessarily for my children run a mile long at my age now- but I kept my morals and family values throughout the years that have taught me to do things right (the best you can) and anything worth while is never easy to attain.

I can see how she pushed him away. Since if he were to do anything she would definitely blasted it all over youtube. He attended his other daughter birthday party. I wonder if he was invited to his boys birthday party.

Right! They were out in the sun. Probably had a great time. Anyone can get sunburn. It’s life

@@angelg0ld LOL and look at all the rashes they’ve been getting in their pool at their moms house now... and she was talking about how her kids threw up from playing games in the backyard... she’s not some perfect parents and the kids have a lot of issues when they’re playing with her around. Their kids things happen doesn’t mean you have to blast the other parent online in front of all your followers.
