Dive deep into the mysteries of scripture as we explore the question: "Did Jesus Quote the Apocrypha?" Join us on an enlightening journey through the pages of this 1793 King James Bible, where ancient wisdom meets modern revelation.
The evidence is clear! In Matthew 6:7, Jesus delivers a powerful message on prayer, urging us to avoid vain repetitions. But what's truly fascinating is what we find in the margin of this ancient text: Ecclus 7.14, a reference to Ecclesiasticus, a book from the Apocrypha!
Ecclesiasticus 7:14 echoes Jesus' words, emphasizing the importance of concise and meaningful prayer: "Use not many words in a multitude of elders, and make not much babbling when thou prayest." (Ecclesiasticus 7:14, KJV) The parallel is undeniable, shedding new light on Jesus' use of scripture.
Join the conversation and share your thoughts in the comments below. Do you believe Jesus drew wisdom from the Apocrypha? Let us know your insights and reflections!
It's revelations like this that challenge conventional beliefs and open new doors of understanding. So the next time someone questions whether Jesus quoted from the Apocrypha, you'll be armed with the truth. Share this video and spread the knowledge!
But hey, don't just take our word for it-explore the scriptures for yourself and uncover the timeless truths hidden within. "Let's take a look together-it's in the Holy Book!"

This doesn’t prove anything concerning the apocrypha. Extra-biblical texts are quotes several times in the Bible. That doesn’t make the source inspired, it simply means it had at least one thing correct. An example is Paul’s quoting Greek poets in Acts 17:28.
@gclmedia
@gclmedia 5 месяцев назад
Blessings and thank you! While it's true that Greek poets and other extra-biblical material are referenced in the Bible, it's important that you ACCEPT that they have NEVER been contained within the biblical canon. On the other hand, the Apocrypha has been and IS STILL included in certain versions of the Bible throughout history and is still considered part of the biblical canon by some Christian traditions. This distinction ALONE highlights the difference between mere references to external sources in the biblical text and the actual inclusion of texts within the Bible itself. Without them we have what is called an “Incomplete Canon.”

Just caught your short of the rich man and Lazarus. It was a parable, "without a parable, did He speak to them." Here are just a couple of clues that you won't hear from the pulpit. It seemed so obvious that this rich man was Judah who had five full brothers of Jacob and Leah. What broke my heart was when I read "Dogs came and licked the sores" and then I read this in (Psalm 22:16) "For dogs have surrounded Me; the congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me, they pierced My hands and My feet;" Christ knew all along the unimaginable torment He would experience with this cup He was willing to take. He gave us another clue to the mystery, even before He died.

I agree that is sad...I'm also reminded of the woman who replied to the lord ; yes but even the dogs eat from the crumbs the children leave....who's meaning in context is; you may not have come to speak to me being a gentile, however I have overheard your message and do believe...a dog being saved
@james-cq3mi

@@keith4891 In that day, the character of dogs belonged to the Gentiles as far a the Jews were concerned,. Jesus knew her heart, and used her request and comment, with the complexity of her faith, to teach the apostles. He did the same with the centurion's faith, and the woman at the well. Christ was disrupting their traditions and letting them know that He came for all humanity.

Thank you so much and you are pretty awesome yourself. I appreciate you! Yes, the appearance of “s” looking like “f” in older texts, is due to a historical style of writing known as “long s.” The long s (ſ) was a form of the lowercase letter ‘s’ that was used in English and other languages from the late medieval period until the early 19th century. It was a stylistic choice and not an indication of a different sound. As languages and writing styles evolved, the use of the long s gradually faded away.

To this day, no scholar has ever produced a Greek copy of the old Testament written before A.D. 300. The entire legend of the Septuagint rests on the flimsy support that the manuscripts written 200-400 years AFTER the death of Christ match the New Testament quotations. Which is exactly what this apostate is doing with Matthew 6:7
@KGYAN-vm5oh
@KGYAN-vm5oh 5 месяцев назад
Hmmm, not quite. The parallel drawn between Gentiles and Jesus's audiences occurs twice in chapter 6. See 6v32, and compare 6:7 to 1Kings 18:26. Matthew 5:67. Where did Jesus draw this other wisdom about Gentile religious practices from? Is this a spanner in the will of this publicist stunt or what? This when you know your cross reference bible needs an upgrade.

It seems a candidate for the Panin test...Ivan Panin discovered a mathematical pattern that must exist to be the wordof God...I believe parts of the apocrypha are indeed the word of God- jyst as other parts are clearly words of men speaking about God- by the work of Panin we can know the difference

This book was never part of the Hebrew Old Testament and never considered inspired Scripture by Jews. Are you trying to tell me that Jesus - the Word made flesh - quoted from a book He knew was not divinely inspired?
@CodyBuchanan700
@CodyBuchanan700 5 месяцев назад
Yes
@MisterN0b0dy
@MisterN0b0dy 5 месяцев назад
@@CodyBuchanan700Sadly, you miss the point. Whatever Jesus said is, by definition of Him being God incarnate, divinely inspired. Therefore, if He was really quoting from an Apocryphal book, it would automatically make it divinely inspired. Bearing that in mind, why didn’t ANY New Testament writer refer to it or quote from it? The simple fact is that Jesus didn’t quote from the Apocrypha; a collection of writings NEVER included in the Hebrew Old Testament.
@ri3m4nn
@ri3m4nn 5 месяцев назад
Well, quoting from something only makes the quote true, not the entire book.
@MisterN0b0dy
@MisterN0b0dy 5 месяцев назад
@@ri3m4nnSadly, you’re missing the point about WHO you’re claiming needed to appeal to an Apocryphal text for the basis of their teaching, and the consequences of that for both HIM and the text he’s using. Claiming Jesus quoted from the Apocrypha has no more basis than claiming Jude quoted from the book of Enoch. But in the case of Jesus, the claim is far more egregious. There is a reason why the Apocrypha was never in the Hebrew OT and no NT writer ever referred to or quoted from it. In teaching Jesus used it as inspiration for His divine teaching you would do well to bear in mind James 3:1.
@ri3m4nn
@ri3m4nn 5 месяцев назад
@MisterN0b0dy again, it doesn't matter if a non-canon book has something Jesus said. Sadly, you're into your own point that ego is the only fruit you're giving. There are truths in non-canon material because only good comes from God, and that goodness comes out in all of God's creation.

Romans 3:1-2 ”What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.“ How could a bunch of Catholics write the Apocrypha if the Oracles were all Jews? No Gentile could’ve wrote the Bible (besides Luke) because everyone who writes a book of the Bible (at least in the Old Testament) was a Jew. The Apocrypha follows Catholic and Orthodox traditions that include false doctrines such as: -You can pay your way into Heaven (Ecclesiasticus 3:30, Tobit 12:9) -Justifying suicide (2 Maccabees 14:42-43) -The dead are delivered from their sins via money (2 Maccabees 12:43-45) -Tobit 6:17 TELLS YOU to forget God when you get married These books were completely invented by Catholics and Greek Orthodox cults, and not one lick of it was the word of God. Matthew 23:35 ”that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.“ ‭‭Jesus declares that the Old Testament runs from Genesis (Abel) to 2 Chronicles (Zacharias) with the rest of the 39 books of the Old Testament mixed in there (the Hebrew Old Testament is in a slightly different order than the English-Why, I don’t know). See Ruckman’s full discussion on the topic by looking at the video titled, “Jesus Christ DENIES The Apocrypha! | They are NOT Canon!”. Here are two other things to consider: 1. It was never quoted by Christ nor any apostle. (This is the big one). It’s entirely possible that whatever heretic wrote the Apocrypha just took this from Matthew. 2. Paul cited heathen poetry (Acts 17:28, Titus 1:12), but never ONE Apocryphal book. I have nothing else to say if you continue to look at these perverted additions. ”For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things” (this includes the Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox Apocrypha) “, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:“ ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭18‬ ‭ I’m praying for you brother. I know you mean well, but teaching that this is right is something you’ll have to answer for at the Judgement Seat of Christ.

Jesus did not reference the apocrypha,the maker of the book did… Jesus declared this, not referenced like “as it was written” where he does other times… Jews never accepted the apocrypha since there were no messianic prophets during this time, which passed the deutoronomy standards …

Blessings and thank you for engaging. I get the exact same response from viewers often. In light of this I have to ask the question: Dis you know that Jesus referenced the Old Testament more than 80 times throughout the Gospels, yet He only prefaced these quotes with "It is written" 14 times?
@jimkay4900
@jimkay4900 28 дней назад
@@gclmedia I used the “as it was written” as an example of an explicit reference. I would like to know if Jesus’ “alleged reference” to the apocrypha was explicit or implicit the times you claim … and if these times were implicit, does he claim to reference the apocrypha or is he saying “this is true whether or not it’s in the apocrypha” ?? If the apocrypha says the sky is blue and Jesus says the sky is blue he could just be saying a fact and not referencing at all
